7 Zach

I sat down body tensed on a large red couch in the living room. Amy had left not too long ago, and she informed me that Zachary would be taking care of me in her place for a while.

I dared not make myself too comfortable and sat up straight while looking around the room.

The walls of the living room were painted in a glossy beige, and luxurious rugs of various warm colours covered the entire floor.

A small coffee table stood in the center of the room, just in front of the red couch I was sitting on.

Besides the couch and the table, there was nothing else in the room as it was quite small.

I was currently barefooted as Amy had left a short message to me saying that Zachary preferred to not wear shoes in the house, and that the floor was very clean.

The rugs under my bare feet were warm and tantalizing, I could not help but giggle and wriggled my toes in delight.

"So... it's Lila, right?" A deep and velvety smooth voice sounded.

I gasped and swiftly jumped to a stand as I looked at where the voice came from.

It was Zachary. He walked down the stairs while looking at me. He was wearing a white shirt and loose grey sweatpants, which I heaved a sigh of relief at. At least he was not half naked this time.

"Yeah, what's it to you?" I tilted my head and replied with as much sass as I could. I definitely was not intimidated by him. Or so I was saying to myself.

"Nothing, you can call me Zach. I'm guessing you don't recognize me as the 'boy in the forest'?" He chuckled and continued,

"I'm sorry for what I did to you back there. I didn't have much choice then."

His smile was dazzling and he had deep dinples on both sides of his cheeks. I was mesmerized for a moment before snapping out of my thoughts and remembered why he was there.

I stared at him without saying a word and crossed my arms. Raising an eyebrow, I gestured for him to go on.

He sighed and lowered his head, causing his damp curly auburn hair to flop past his unfamiliar green eyes. He looked exactly the same as the boy from the forest, yet so different.

With his head still lowered he walked towards the couch and sat down. He leaned back and patted the spot beside him, giving me an expectant look.

I pouted and sat back down to where I was before, while crossing my arms the whole time.

"Let me start with how you ended up finding me there, and why I look different from before. I was training in that forest to become stronger, so that I would be able to consume and put more magic energy to use." He continued,

"I had not paid attention to my surroundings and was attacked out of a sudden. I could not escape to the dimension portal as it would expose it's location to my attackers. So, out of desperation, I started running further towards the outskirts of the woods and collapsed after one of the attackers did a critical blow to me. They must not have known that I had rapid healing abilities, and left me alone after I stopped running. That was when you found me."

Zach then explained that his eyes turned red due to the bloodlust that aroused in him when he lost that large amount of blood. His eyes would also turn red if his emotions peaked.

For some reason, he was also the only known faerie that existed to have such a condition.

I realized that he did not specify who his attackers were, but did not question him as he must have had his reasons for not getting into detail.

Then the awkward part came.

"Um, I had to kiss you because to transform a human into faerie, the human needs to have eaten faerie food, or had intimate contact with a faerie." He coughed as a tinge of pink formed on his cheeks.

Before I could speak a word of query, he rapidly explained that to prevent humans from ever finding out about the fey, any human that came across a faerie either had to be killed or turned.

The reason was simply because the fey wanted to live in peace without humans constantly seeking them out due to purposes related to greed.

"Okay." I nodded after the long talk and took everything in slowly.

"I have a few questions Amy had forgotten to answer be before she handed me to you. What are the circumstances of being a faerie, and how do I know which element I belong to?" I asked.

"Well, for one thing, faeries are unable to consume human food as our body and taste buds are very different compared to humans. The only human food that we can take is a beverage, wine. We faeries have our own foods, and I'll bring you to some places run by faeries back in your original world to eat, since you're probably starving." Zach answered seriously.

"As for what your element is, a ceremony is held once a month to determine the element of new born fey, including newly turned humans. You're in luck, because the next ceremony will be held in three days time, in your city." He smiled.

"Alright, I guess I've heard enough for today, and I'm really tired. I want to go back home." I said, my vision starting to get hazey.

Zach escorted me back to the forest. The sun was starting to rise, and my body felt extremely heavy.

He reminded me that he would be taking me out to eat later that day as he had things to do at that moment and followed me out of the forest.

Zach only left after I flagged down a cab and rode it back to my apartment.

I did not even bother taking a shower or changing out of my clothes. The minute I entered my apartment, I dragged myself to my room and fell dead asleep on the bed.

When I opened my eyes again a few hours later, a pair of green eyes were staring back at mine.
