3 I'm A Faerie?

Groaning, I slowly opened my eyes. Everything that happened before must have been a dream. There's no way someone could have red eyes besides the albino condition, but no one even goes to that forest. Besides, the guy had red hair too.

My vision cleared and I saw myself looking up at something green, but I could not tell what it was. I looked down and saw that I was lying on a bed.

"Wait a second... A bed?" I thought to myself.

Sitting up with a jerk, I looked around in astonishment. I was in a relatively small room that looked like it was made from bark with dirt floors and no windows.

The bed was propped against a back corner of the room with a small bedside table next to it. On the bedside table was a jar containing balls giving out light. At the opposite corner was what looked like a couch and beanbag combined together. Right beside the couch was a wooden door. This was definitely not my apartment room back in the city if I was dreaming.

I pinched myself to make sure I was fully awake.

"Ouch! Okay, I'm one hundred percent awake." I grumbled.

Just as I was about to get off the bed, an old lady that looked to be in her sixties opened the door. She had a head of long white hair that was braided down her back and hazelnut brown eyes. She donned a pink dress covered with white frills accompanied by a pink scarf and topped with a pink hat that covered her ears. I tensed my body and fixed my gaze on her while trying to speak something but to no avail.

"Hello dear, you're awake I see. My name is Amethyst but you can just call me Amy, since that's what everyone else does. I assume you must be wondering where you are?" The lady spoke while closing the door.

Her voice was warm and sweet like honey, making me feel as though I had been doused with chocolate. Instinctively, I let down my guard and nodded my head.

"Well, where should I start..." Amy murmured as she sat down in front of me on a chair that appeared out of nowhere.

"First of all, I am not a human, and neither are you." She said curtly.

My eyes widened and I raised an eyebrow, finding her words hard to believe. We were both obviously human right now. I started having thoughts that maybe that old lady has been growing old and is a little senile.

"Now, I know you may not believe what I'm saying, but you have to, for the sake of yourself." Amy continued, " I'm a mythical creature, a faerie. And so are you, as of now. If you do not believe me, you can take a look outside that door."

I still had my doubts, but in order to get some useful information of where I was, I got up and walked to the door. Feeling Granny's eyes on my back, I slowly opened the door. My mouth hung limp as I stared speechlessly at what was happening above me.

There were a few hundred people flying around on wings. 'People' was not the right word, they were more like fairies with queer clothing made out of leaves and flowers and glittering translucent wings shaped like a butterfly's that shimmered while they flapped. That was not all.

While processing everything into my head, I noticed that the room seemed to be embedded inside a giant hollow tree. The center of the tree was completely empty and hollowed out, and that empty space was where the fairies were flying about.

There were stairs in the center of the tree that led to different platform levels on the tree as you advanced upwards, with doors of what I assumed led to rooms lining the circumference of the tree. There were about ten levels, and I was living on the first level, which was why the floor was made of dirt.

When I looked closely, there were some people that did not have wings, and they were using the stairs in the center to get higher up. Those wingless people looked more like pixies, as they had sharp pointed ears. Other than the blatantly obvious realistic wings and pointed ears the fairies and pixies had, they looked like cosplay during Halloween.

"Why am I living in a giant tree, and who are those people?!" I exclaimed and slammed the door shut while suppressing the the emotions that threatened to overflow. I whipped my body around to face Amy, and gave her a questioning look.

"My dear, it is not a giant tree, we are just tiny. And like I said before, I am a faerie, a mythical creature part of the fey." Amy replied and took her hat off. She had sharp pointed ears just like the pixies outside the room. It was then I realized that the light used to light up the tree came from huge fireflies the size of me. And the balls in the jar beside my bed must have been firefly eggs.

"Th- This can't be happening right? It must be a dream, it must be. From the boy with red eyes and now this? I don't believe it. Faeries or whatever you call it don't exist. I want to go home." I mumbled while leaning on the door as hot tears filled my eyes and my body slid to the ground. Wrapping my head between my knees, I started sobbing.

Suddenly, a warm embrace wrapped around me, and I looked up.

"Its alright darling. The process of finding out and accepting is always the hardest. I was a human once like you too." Amy whispered gently in my ear. "That's why they always send me to take care of the newly turned ones."

I stopped crying and stared at Amy. Confusion filled my mind and I sniffled, "Y- You were human before? Then what happened to you? How come I have never known or seen faeries?"

"That, will be a story for another time. Right now, you need to go back to your friends and go home. Come to the forest again in the evening. I will explain more to you then." Amy spoke firmly and pulled me to my feet.

That's right! Azure and Jessica must be so worried right now. Fortunately, Amy went ahead and told me that I had only fainted for a few hours and when I made it back to the camp it would still be dark out.

"I will also you back to your normal size when we reach a distance away from the tree." Amy said, and I went along with it.

I followed Amy out of the room to the exit of the tree and passed many fairies and pixies who gave me a weird look. It was still dark outside, so Amy had brought along a portable leaf lantern that had a few firefly eggs in it. We walked through the grass that looked huge for a few minutes before Amy stopped and turned to face me.

"The name 'Pixie' is not the right name to call me, but I do not want to complicate things yet, so this is a magic ability that only 'Pixies' can use. But we can only use it on people who consent to it. Watch." Amy said while grabbing my hand. A few moments later, faint green glow illuminated our joined hands, and I felt a tingling sensation spreading from my hands to the rest of my body.

I watched with awe as the grass and trees started getting smaller and I was growing bigger along with Amy. Finally, I was back to my normal size. Even the clothes grew with me, which was amazing to see.

"Walk straight and you will see your torch. Goodbye for now." Amy said as her voice grew smaller while she shrunk herself.

Taking a deep breath, I strode into the dark forest once again.
