Synopsis

No one else sees the monsters that I do. And now three of them want to marry me. Monster-slaying doesn’t pay the bills. No one knows I protect them from the things that go bump in the night. So after dark, I hunt. During the day, I drag myself through work to earn a living. Everything was fine, other than the beasts and demons, until they showed up. Three sexy men who say they are Fae Lords, Guardians of the new Queen…me. That I’m their fated mate. Yeah, I didn’t believe all that bullsh*t either. But I can’t deny that the attraction between us is tangible, irresistible. Despite my skepticism, my desire for each of them is growing. Not everyone is pleased to have a half-blood queen in the Fae Court, though. And I’m beginning to realize not all monsters can be seen at face value. Fae Guardians Series is created by Rebecca Goodwin, an eGlobal Creative Publishing signed author.

Chapter 1Chapter 1: Baiting the Trap

Avery

When Malcolm Gould stared at you, you were frozen in place, rooted to your seat on the uncomfortable bar stool, unable to move, let alone breathe. When those midnight blue eyes fell on me, I couldn't tell whether he wanted to kill me or fuck me. Regardless, I longed for his callused hands to wrap around my throat the way they wrapped around the bottle of beer he was drinking and touch me in ways I had never been touched before.

I liked pain, and Malcolm Gould was known for giving pain.

And he seemed to know that.

This was my second night here, hoping to get closer to him despite the danger. I never frequented the same bar twice. The last thing I needed was to be made as a monster hunter who let one of the bastard's mind-fuck me like I was letting this Fae do now.

A week ago, I had steadied my hand from plunging the dagger into his heart the first night I came here, and he froze me in place with a mere glance. I had tried to shake it off and done eight other kills in the meantime. But Malcolm drew me back in, invading my thoughts, my dreams, which was why I was here again. To figure out why he had such sway over me and to end it.

The bar grew hotter, quieter as the intensity between me and my prey spiked. Or I imagined having the upper hand and I was the quarry. I licked my lips, hating they trembled more than I planned, and inclined my head in an invitation to the empty bar stool next to me.

His mouth quirked in a crooked grin and my breath hitched. He shouldn't be able to affect me like this. Not when I had a job to remove all of his kind from the city. The vermin took everything from humans: money, power, sex and life. They lived on the essence of a human's soul. As far as I was concerned, every single one of the Fae could crawl back into whichever layer of hell they'd come from.

"I've seen you here before, yes?" His breath tickled my throat as he leaned in.

But he didn't know I sensed him using his magic and charm that echoed in my head like someone had struck a crystal wind chime to seduce me and ensure his words were clear over the noise.

"Been to lots of places." I smirked, slightly turning my body to face him. I'd dressed the part tonight, like I always did on a hunt like this, in a black cocktail dress that hit my thighs. There were slices in the fabric to show more skin and distract from the extra folds and pockets I'd sewn into it to hide my weapons.

"Why, do you come here often? Maybe you can recommend a better martini than the one I'm having." I twirled my glass for effect. "It seems watered down."

His laugh drew multiple stares from women and men alike throughout the bar. It took everything in me not to jump him right there and then. Yeah, this Fae was way too dangerous. I was immune to most of their powers, yet Malcolm had my panties already damp with his closeness.

"You don't know who I am, do you?" he asked.

Sure I did. Since my last visit here, I'd researched Malcolm Gould - doubted that was his real name - and discovered all I wanted and more about the Fae playboy. He owned this bar along with two other unnamed business associates. He went through girlfriends like a junkie on crack and never looked back, leaving a trail of missing women or broken ones in his tracks.

"Should I know you?" I snapped my fingers and feigned ignorance. "Wait, wait you're that football player that scored the touchdown for the other team last week, right?"

His growl sent a shiver racing up my back, but instead of feeling I was on dangerous ground, it only excited me more. Shit! Just what kind of Fae is Malcolm?

"I own this bar."

"And you play pro-ball too?" I took a sip of my drink, purposely spilling a bit so he'd think I was drunker than he first thought. "Wow."

"No, just the bar." He sat on the bar stool beside me so smoothly like he had practiced the move a hundred times before. Reaching across the bar, his arm grazed mine and sent my core tightening. He gathered some cocktail napkins and handed them to me.

I dabbed at my dress, crossing my legs and letting one trail closer to his.

"How about we go upstairs, to a more private area to hear each other better." He leaned forward, his leg brushing aside mine.

His space filled mine, and I swore my aura purred from the contact.

"Private? Meaning your bedroom?" I leaned back a fraction, forcing my brows to furrow. Fae like Malcolm wanted to be in charge, and they liked the chase. Make it too easy and he might lose interest and snatch up one of the other women drooling over him. "Sorry, I don't do sexual romps with strangers."

"Who said anything about sex? Though if that's what's on your mind, I can certainly entertain the idea." His fingertips traced the edge of my dress along my thigh.

My thoughts jumbled into images of me and him tangled in sheets and screaming his name as ecstasy washed through me. I shook my head to dislodge the growing need to feel him inside me. To see if he was as good as I believed.

No, I needed to keep my head. As soon as we were alone, I had to kill him. Before he took whatever he wanted from me and left me dead.

Royal Secret: I'm a Princess!

After living as a famous Korean vlogger-slash-mukbanger, Neoma died a (shameful) death and regressed to her tragic first life--- the life where she has to live as a hidden princess with a tyrannical father and a yandere twin brother. She died at the hands of her psycho brother in her first life. But luckily, she charmed her "big brother" this time. Her father remains a sc*mbag, though. But a blessing in disguise happened when her twin brother got "sick." Because of that, she has to pretend as the "Crown Prince," forcing her father to treat her well. She thought she was finally on the road to becoming a lady of leisure. But, despite her laziness, she still ends up completing royal duties that put her closer to the throne than her sick twin brother. The next thing she knew, they already prophesied her to be the first empress of their very patriarchal empire. Now Neoma finds herself in the middle of the succession war she never wanted to be involved in! *** [EXCERPT 1] “Neoma de Moonasterio, the first princess of Moonasterion Empire. From now on, you’ll live as Prince Nero’s proxy.” [The hell is this psycho saying?] Neoma, despite her confusion, still smiled at her father--- the emperor. “Father, what do you mean by that?” “From now on, assassins sent by my enemies would target Nero,” the emperor explained. “Until he’s strong enough to protect himself, you’ll pose as your twin brother.” Her smile froze, but she still acted innocent. “But Father. If I take my brother’s position, then wouldn’t the assassins mistake me for him and…” She stopped talking when she realized that was exactly what the emperor wanted her to do. [This sc*mbag wants me to be bait?!] “You’re no longer a princess, Neoma de Moonasterio. From now on, you’ll live as Prince Nero de Moonasterio,” Emperor Nikolai said coldly while looking down at her with glowing red eyes. “Try to survive until your twin brother comes back to take his rightful place, understood?” Neoma was too shocked to react. [Are you f*cking kidding me, you sc*mbag?!] *** [ORIGINAL BOOK COVER. Artwork by sola_cola.] *** [EXCERPT 2] “I’m so sick of your tyrannical a*s,” Neoma yelled at her father aka the emperor. “I won’t forgive you for hurting Lewis and Tteokbokki!” “What will you do about it then?” Nikolai asked with a smirk. “Kill me?” “Yes! I’ll f*cking kill you, sc*mbag!” “Language,” he warned her, upset that his five-year-old daughter curses like a sailor. “Using vulgar words is unbecoming of the future Crown Prince.” “I’m a princess!” Upon yelling those words, the royal princess’s eye color changed from ash-gray to red. [This is getting serious.] “Stop it, Nero,” Nikolai told her sternly. “If you keep that up, the royal knights will come and–” “I’m not Nero!” Neoma screeched angrily. Then she jumped in the air with her left fist, ready to punch him. “In the name of the moon, I’ll punish you!” [What…?] And Princess Neoma, pretending as the Crown Prince for her sick twin brother, punched Emperor Nikolai, her father, in the face.

Defy The Alpha(s)

Two centuries after the Great War, peace between humans and werewolves was finally achieved, or so everyone believes. Werewolves reign like gods, and humans remain blissfully unaware of their true place in the new world order. To maintain this fragile balance, each year, a handful of "lucky" humans are selected from various districts to attend Lunaris Academy, a prestigious institution that promises glory, status, and a chance to mingle with the elite. Those chosen are hailed as the lucky few, destined to marry powerful alphas and rise as luna. This year, Violet Purple is among the chosen, much to everyone's surprise. For an orphaned girl adopted by a disgraced prostitute, this is a golden ticket to a better life or so she's told. But Lunaris Academy isn’t the paradise it’s painted to be. Everything Violet and her fellow humans have been taught is a lie. Humans are far from equal; they're pawns in a much larger game. The academy is nothing but a gilded cage, and the students are lambs led to slaughter, playthings for the alphas to toy with in their ruthless games. To make matters worse, Violet catches the attention of the most dangerous players in this game, the Terror Four: the Alpha of the North, Alpha of the South, Alpha of the East, and Alpha of the West. Each one is more dangerous, more twisted, and more powerful than the last. But even among themselves, the alphas are divided, each with their own deadly ambitions. Yet, they all have their eyes on her. They expect Violet to play along, to fall in line like the others who worship at their feet, to break under their games. But Violet isn’t like the others. She refuses to bow. She’ll defy them all.
