7 I’m Sorry

When she finally woke up she groaned and felt a weight on her hand. Looking down she saw a slender hand gently holding her own. Her eyes moved upwards and she saw the smiling face of Rai's. So he can smile.

She returned his smile and then made to sit up, falling back down as she did so. Rai immediately jumped up and assisted her into a comfortable sitting position. After thanking him she coughed and then gratefully accepted the glass of water he handed to her.

She studied him over the top of the glass and almost choked when she remembered the flash of memory she had before she fainted.

Lowering the glass she looked over at the male with guilty eyes.

"Rai..." she began, her soft voice catching his attention. "I owe you an apology."

"What for?" He took her hand in one of his again, like it was the most natural thing in the world.

"For not remembering about you, about us, about the life we lived before. I'm sorry for the incident that happened, even if I don't remember all of it." This time she was choking on her sobs. "I lost most of my memories. I lost parts of who I was and the most saddening thing of them all, is that I lost you."

"..." Rai opened his mouth to say something but she held up a hand to stop him.

"Wait, I'm not done," she sat up straighter and  held both of his hands in hers, "right now, I don't know everything that we went through together, I don't know all of what we've done and I especially don't know the kind of relationship ours was. My faded memories are slowly coming to the surface and I have a feeling soon it'll all become clearer for me."

She moved his hand and placed it over her heart and continued, "just know that, even if I never remember everything you will always be in my heart. There's a part of me that knows I once loved you and who knows, maybe I still do now. So just wait for me, Ok?"

Rai gazed at her and his eyes appeared watery, but she wasn't sure if it was just a trick of the light.

He pulled her closer and wrapped an arm around her waist, with his hand he lifted her face so he could see her beautiful eyes clearer. "Ji-ae, I will wait for you, forever."
