14 Codex #002

The Diablo has fallen. Our scouts confirmed sighting of the Templar assault team leaving the flying fortress just minutes before the rear boosters exploded. We have yet to receive any official reports of how they pulled of the timing on the disabling of defense cannons and our heavy artillery. At the time of this recording, 4700 hours, the Diablo is down. With its falling, one of three invading ships have been taken care of. The other two, Prima and Omega, still remain over the first and second kingdom respectively. Now, with the commanding force for the Kridora in our kingdom has been taken care of, they'll be pressing fire from two sides over Andra, where the frontier battle rages on. No such orders have been issued but it is to be expected that we'll be joining the Andra kingdom on the frontier, with much of our forces already providing assistance. Some scouts also reported that they saw Alexio, the sub commander of the Templar, near the outskirts of the capital. I have no information as to why he's there but I'm sure there's a reason. That's it from me, the scout leader 003, Arma.

In our world, combat and warfare was not given much significance despite our natural tendency towards them. Decades before the Invaders were intercepted, the third kingdom did not possess an army. The king of Tredje instead offered his blessings to a handful of individuals every year who were tasked with maintain peace throughout the kingdom. These teams were named the Templar knights and at most fifty to sixty of these existed from the capital to the outskirt cities and everyone respected them. The king also blessed a Templar commander who…well commanded all these, I guess. The blessing of the king was revered in all three kingdoms because fighter has not been hailed yet that can match a Templar commander. Even then, the fighters that did emerge to join the Templars were classified into four categories: Close, Ranged, support and Adept. Most of the categories speak for themselves but the one that stands out the most is Adept. The abilities and gifts of a fighter are gauged in terms of their strike, blast and vitality. Gifts like sustained damage reduction or shields add to vitality points while abilities like strength multipliers or plasma bullets add to strike or blast points respectively. These are gauged against a standard and the suitable category is assigned. Any team, be it an assault or a reconnaissance, always has a balance of close and long range fighters with at least one support fighter. While the tag of a support fighter may seem lackluster, it is an extremely important part of the team and many have succeeded sorely due to the efforts of their support.

The fourth category, however, was only formed recently. As reiterated countless times, our species has had a natural leaning towards combat from decades immemorial. We evolve and adapt very rapidly to combat new and unknown situations. In the last decade, since the coming of the Kridora was predicted, we began preparations for a resistance. In that little time, our people have raised an army capable of holding these intergalactic invaders at bay for years, tipping the balance little by little. In that short time, our gifts and capabilities have evolved to a level that was never thought possible in times of peace. Those that possess gifts and natural abilities that exceed standard grades by a colossal margin are deemed as adept fighters. Though only possessed by few, these individuals have managed to topple battalions of Kridora by themselves. As of now, in the two kingdoms combined, a total of 8 adept warriors exist. While their existence does give us hope, the true fuel for our warriors lies not in the individual excellence but in the combined might that we possess. Tills alla är en.
