Tch! That's what I get for being a nice guy!

I thought while giving Aurora the stink eye who was currently dressed in a black tank top under her black leather jacket, a black choker necklace, and black yoga pants with black running shoes as I massaged my still-swollen cheek.

"Hmph!"

Seeing my stare Aurora snorted in return.

"Attention all passengers sit down immediately! I repeat all passengers sit down immediately!"

The space lifts controller's voice blared out from the loudspeakers as It did everyone who wasn't seated yet sat down as quickly as possible while I and Aurora lowered our safety clamps.

As we did they automatically locked themselves down.

"Attention all passengers prepare for reverse g! I repeat all passengers prepare for reverse g!"

Once again we heard the controller warning as we did the space elevator first turned off its gravity generator as it did Aurora's ponytail started floating in the air.

Soon the elevator started descending and it didn't take long before the Earth's gravity took effect.

Dozens of people including Aurora couldn't help but start groaning, I was the only one who was fine after all my endurance has already reached max so unlike before I didn't feel any discomfort at all.

It took a couple of minutes until the space elevator stopped with a bang making everyone jump into the air from their seats but thanks to our clamps we didn't crack our skulls open.

"Want some help?"

I asked as I extended my hand to dizzy Aurora who was busy raising her clamp which automatically unlocked itself only to get my hand slapped away.

This chick is really...

My facial muscles couldn't help but twitch at Aurora's antics.

...

F*ck why did I agree to this?

I couldn't help but curse in my mind while I looked at the towering skyscrapers filling my view completely as I exhaled a cloud of smoke from my mouth only to feel my fingers get burned by my cigarette bud.

As I did I pressed it against my black paramilitary boots and after extinguishing it threw it away.

Just as I tucked my hand into my black cargo pants with a chain hanging from my pants waist to take out another cigarette the taxi that Aurora ordered finally arrived.

"Let's go"

Aurora said as she entered the electric autonomous sci-fi-looking car, as she did I followed after her.

"Please state your destination"

Came the taxi's mechanical voice devoid of any sense of life.

"Districts A paradise beauty saloon"

After the unification, the Earth's nations became administrative districts and district A was the former land of beer and sausages.

Aurora answered as she did the car started driving by itself.

As it did I leaned into my seat and focused my gaze on the scenery outside the window because Aurora was busy scrolling through her phone.

I saw countless drones with civilian and military aircraft flying back and forth as countless electric cars drove past us.

The reason why I didn't go see Nat on my day of leave before we depart to Mars and instead agreed to accompany Aurora, well it's very simple Nat is way too busy to see me.

...

I looked at the other middle-aged men dressed in fancy clothes sitting around with dead fish faces just like mine.

"Women right?"

I muttered.

As I did everyone gave out a collective sigh.

Suddenly Aurora walked out of the beauty salon.

Scratch that it's worth it.

I thought in my mind as my eyes and everyone else's landed on Aurora with fresh makeup, If before she was already a jaw-dropping beauty right now she was a beauty that could make men lose their minds.

...

"Seriously women..."

I muttered while carrying bags full of Aurora's clothes which she bought after her beauty procedures.

Only to hear a loud crash as I did I dropped the bags and stormed off to the accident scene, I didn't know why but for some reason my subconsciousness was telling me to do it.

As I ran through the gathering crowd of people the smell of blood became thicker and stronger.

As I finally reached the scene of collided expensive cars.

I saw 30 years old woman dressed in a fancy red dress with blood flowing from her forehead trying to get out of her electric Ferrari but it wasn't working out that well since she suffered a strong concussion from the collision.

Then my eyes fell on the little girl inside the Ferrari whose heartbeat was getting slower by the second in my ears as I did memories of my past resurfaced in my mind.

"Execute order 66 over!"

My superiors command sounded in my earpiece as I looked at the dirty and malnourished elderly, men, women, and kids with ragged clothes sitting on the ground hugging each other while crying in my view.

"Copy over."

I said it in an emotionless ice-cold voice as I and my soldiers raised our assault rifles and pulled our triggers.

I coldly watched the screaming and wriggling people with no emotions in my eyes as they got pierced by hundreds of bullets.

Only to see movement amongst the dozens of bloody corpses.

I let go of my assault rifle allowing it to hang by my right side hand drew out my pistol from my holster.

As I reached the still-alive little girl I raised my pistol to her head she asked her final question.

"Why?"

I pulled the trigger without answering.

I shoved the calling, talking, and filming people aside with my hands and ran to the dying 10 years old girl dressed in a simple white dress that was drenched with red blood already.

As I looked at the bloody girl I couldn't help but feel my emotions start running wild.

I grabbed the mangled doors and started pulling them apart, as I did my arteries and veins under my pale skin threatened to burst out with my weaker caterpillars bursting out and causing internal bleeding but in the end, I ripped the doors open.

In the process, I cut my palm but I didn't care.

"Eh, what that hell is he doing the girl is already good as dead?"

"911 yes there was a car accident please send help immediately!"

"Don't ask me anyways whatever he's doing is giving me likes."

Said a punk teen while filming live with his holographic phone.

As I did Aurora finally ran over.

Without waisting time I unplugged the safety belt and laid the girl's bloody body on the ground.

"Aurora get the first aid kit from the car!"

I roared as I took off my black short-sleeved T-shirt exposing my muscular perfect V-shaped scarred tattooed top whose scars were mostly from fighting with hooligans, delinquents, and criminals in order to raise my stats before I joined the academy.

And started wrapping it around the piece of bloody hand-sized glass in her stomach.

By the time I was done, Aurora had already brought the first aid kit.

As she did I opened it up and after taking out a mini emergency blood transfusion device plunged one needle into my artery and the other one into the girl's vein.

"Drac do you even know her blood type?"

Aurora couldn't help but ask after seeing my reckless actions in her eyes.

"I'm 0 positive my blood is compatible with everyone else's"

I answered as I listened to the girl's heartbeat which started stabilising slowly.

...

"Here"

Aurora said as she gave me an already-opened Coke that she bought from the hospital's snack and drink vendor machine.

"Thanks"

I answered as I greedily took a sip.

"Why did you do it it's unlike you"

Aurora asked after sitting down next to me because no matter how she searched through her memory she couldn't find an instance where I was ready to sacrifice my life for another, and I almost did according to normal human standards.

After all, I donated entire 3 liters of blood before the doctors hooked up the girl with the blood bags from the hospital's storage.

But I wasn't a normal human anymore so apart from feeling like I was about to crook at any moment I was quite fine.

That's right why?

I asked myself this question but no matter how I thought about it that girl's face who I coldbloodedly executed just because we didn't have enough supplies to support us and the civilians under our protection kept appearing in my mind.

"No child should die before experiencing life"

I answered after coming to the answer.

I guess I'm not so cold-blooded after all.

I couldn't help but mock myself in my mind.

Hearing my answer Aurora couldn't help but curl help lips.

"You know you would make an excellent father, the mother of your children will be a lucky woman"

Aurora said while grinning as she crossed her legs and rested her chin under her palm while looking at me.

Hearing this I couldn't help but look at Aurora with a look that was saying are you an alien?
