Apparently, the fact that Dante complete the quest given by the system gave an additional reward, this was completely unexpected. I wonder why the system sent Dante to do it, and I wondered if it could happen again, how that worked, but for the meantime, I was grateful that it worked so well that it was almost better to send my cat to complete my missions.

I left the pet mission of the side for now and thought about Dante's intel. The kidnaps had two functions, they were at the same time a source for troops, that can be modified almost at will and also a source of new powers for Hamilton and his people.

Anyone that takes a dip on that pool with Hamilton there has the potential to be modified since there was no mention of a limit of usage they have blood with a specific power on the pool. It meant that as long as their subjects can resist it, the might have multiple members with the same ability. We already know about two blinkers, the one that I killed and the one that killed Scott. I thought about numerous people jumping on me at once, earth spikes on earth spikes coming at me, or fighting against a horde of fatties with limitless regeneration.

The possibilities were scary.

The good part was that they don't have Cecily with them anymore and something tells me that she had to do a lot more than what we thought.

'Dante, can you try to look deeper into Cecily's mind? I think that there are memories deleted.'

It took a little longer than usual. But as I thought Ramsey had used his ability to delete specific information from her mind. Besides deciding the things mentioned before, she could also see which power they got from the pool, so that meant that no anyone can receive any power just like that, there has to be compatibility between the power and the host. There were even two people in their troops that could handle two powers.

The fact that they have to break their mind was a huge setback because there were more requisites on the mentality to be able to control certain powers, like mind abilities or for example, control the earth like the one I found. Actually, he was the only one capable of getting that power. Unfortunately for them not breaking their mind was not an option because they can oppose their captors if they don't do it.

Thanks to the new information that Dante managed to get, we have a good understanding of the powers available for them, and the powers that are commonly used. Also, the number of people that were on their base was a lot lower than what Dante saw on Cecily's mind, she didn't know where they went, but they were somewhere.

I thought that they might have been sent as reinforces to another city or they could be hidden somewhere in the city until the moment of the final fight. In this group, there were a lot of people that was more dangerous than the ones we have seen because some of them were used as an experiment and the source of their power was beasts blood.

The result, venomous, or acid blood on some of them, armored skin similar to that of the alligators, and improved senses, instinct, and reactions, sometimes more than one of this abilities.

The only thing that we could be a little more relaxed about was that when Cecily tried to see if the NDR members could get more abilities or a different one from Hamilton. Her predictions said that they would die if they tried it, so besides Hamilton we are clear about the abilities of all of them except the mysterious 7th member.

With all that happened right now, I almost forgot what happened to Aurora Clinic, so I went back to the conference room quietly to tell the tall guy about Ines condition.

Hayley was going to take Dante and Dana back home and explain the situation to Rose and Hope. I also asked Dante to tell Rose to take a look around the clinic to be sure that there was no soul damage on them. After what happened to me, I prefer to not be careless and miss something because I think it is unlikely.

I entered quietly on the conference room where a heated argument was going on.

"WE CAN JUST LEAVE THEM BEHIND IT WOULD BE THE SAME AS KILLING THEM!!!"

"THEY ARE GOING TO DIE ANYWAY, WE WILL SACRIFICE PEOPLE TO TRY TO TAKE THEM OF THE BUILDING FOR THEM TO DIE ON A DIFFERENT PLACE!! IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!

I went to a corner where the tall guy was looking the fight with a helpless face. He noticed me got near and asked me right away.

"How is Ines?"

"Ines got hit on the head, and it left her on a severe state. If she managed to survive, I don't think that she will be able to do anything by herself."

I could see him clenching his fist and shaking a little.

"To be honest that's what everyone thinks will happen, but I have no idea if there is a power that may help her, she is a tough girl and managed to survive this long, so don't lose the faith…"

He nodded, I knew that he was resisting the urge to cry.

"About the rest of them, Johanna has a gunshot on her thigh, Frederick was beaten badly and is also critical, Scott died in battle."

"He came in the middle of the fight and called Sigrid, Hannah, and Ian and left."

I looked around to put a face on Hanna's name and noticed that Hannah was probably the woman that called us on the Armory.

"Then all this discussion is worthless, he probably is catching on the situation and deciding what to do."

At that time the door opened again the fight continued just like when I came, but this time 4 people came into the room, slowly both parties noticed Dr. Harting's presence and kept silence.

Once the room was utterly silent Dr. Harting talked.

"I was already informed about the situation and the votes, I agree with the decision of bringing here only those that can be helpful, I will not jeopardize everyone's survival for someone who already has an expiration date."

His words were harsh, and I could see people looking at him with surprise and a little contempt. One of the guys that wanted to bring everyone to Green Shelter opened his mouth, but Dr. Harting stopped him with his hand.

"If you want to bring more people you are welcome to do it, but you will no receive additional resources from Green Shelter, and they will be your responsibility. Also, we will not help with the logistics to transport them."

The guy that was about to talk, quickly close his mouth. This was human nature, most people that wanted to bring everyone pretended to be rightful, but none of them was willing to make a sacrifice. At least not all of them.

Dr. Harting looked around for a second and continued.

"As I was saying about how we will decide who will come to Green Shelter, I accept ideas right now."

People started to talk about different parameters, age, health status, power studies and all kind of thing were mentioned. I suddenly thought about something and raised my hand.

"We have to see their futures."

Most people stopped talking and looked at me trying to understand what I meant with that, Dr. Harting included…

Unlike the other that were looking at me as if I was crazy Dr. Harting knew that I had something in mind.
