109 They Forgot Me…

After we left the school, we went to the warehouse to pick up food for lunch. Isabella went inside, and Rose and I took care of Dana while waiting outside.

At that time I saw Gabriel leaving the warehouse with a bag with food. I remember that he said that he had younger siblings and that he had to take care of them. I waved my hand to him, and he seemed surprised to see me.

Isabella and Dana stayed on our apartment, while Rose was sitting with me on the couch, Dana did her homework on the floor.

"Isabella, can I go to the checkpoint to visit someone?"

She knew that but probably she didn't like the idea of me fighting again, after getting those three weapons she took my hand, and we left the apartment together, in the direction of one of Green Shelter entrances.

As I was getting near I saw Leon talking with a short guy.

"… I still can't believe that the lucky bastard was chosen to go on a mission with that reporter girl… you know the one with big…"

He put his hands in the front of his chest making them took the form of a huge pair of boobs.

Leon rolled his eyes and interrupted him

"They are not that big… oh, hello Spencer feeling better already? Hi Rose."

The short guy blushed when he noticed that Rose and I heard a part of the conversation.

"Who were you talking about?"

"Stan… I don't think you have noticed him… he and some other went in some sort of secret mission."

"Actually I met him on the first day, he was a guard on Hayley's dad lab… He was part of the team?"

I suddenly felt lucky of not going, just imagine a couple of days with Stan talking not stop made my head hurt…

"I forgot that you were supposed to go too, yeah he was one of them, the other were Scott, you met him, he was the one with us when we went to visit, and I think you might know Johanna since she is famous."

"Actually, I met her with Dr. Harting, no news from them?"

"Too soon, if the mission goes well, they might be able to come back in the afternoon or maybe tomorrow, besides those three, Frederick and Ines are with them…"

Those were new names to me, but from what Leon said they were good scouts. I noticed that there was a lack of fighters on the group, so I was a little worried about the mission.

"Have you seen Zak? Gabriel told me that he was worried too."

"Zak is used to patrolling near the checkpoint when he gets bored, he should appear soon, he hasn't eaten yet, and you know how he is."

I nodded with a smile and decided to wait for a little to see if he appears, but I don't think I will get more info about the investigation. A couple of minutes passed, and it was about time for me to go back to the apartment or Isabella is going to kill me.

I said goodbye to Leon and asked him to tell Zak that I was ok. As I started to walk towards the apartment, I could hear Zak's voice screaming.

Rose and I turned around and saw Zak running with a person on his arms.

It was a severely injured Stan. I moved fast to Zak's side.

"Leave him on the floor, Leon go bring me the first aid kit, you go get a doctor and a stretcher."

I said pointing at the short guy that was talking with Leon.

Stan had multiple wounds on his body. He had a cut on his arm and a deep piercing wound on his stomach that seemed to be the worst ones, the others are mostly superficial wounds. Beside them, on the legs and arms, there were at least 4 biting marks from snakes.

"I almost didn't notice him, if it wasn't because a snake was bitting him, I would have missed him."

I started to look for other wounds, he had lost a lot of blood, and the injury on his stomach was particularly severe. When Leon arrived with the first aids kit. I took a piece of cloth and used detoxification, I didn't want to reveal more abilities, but I won't sacrifice someone that I can save to hide it, even if he was Stan…

A black liquid started to came out of the stomach wound, and I used the cloth to clean it, then I proceeded to disinfect the other injuries and cover all of them.

I looked at Rose wanting to know if the poison damaged his soul too but as far as I know it was a normal poison.

He didn't open his eyes only his mouth.

"They forgot me… they attacked us and forgot to take me with them…"
