95 The Third Party?

(Spencer POV)

Zak saw me and thought that I was checking their vital to be sure that none of them would attack suddenly. Once I finished, I cleaned the blood from my weapons. And went to see Zak's condition.

"That was tough." He said while looking around us.

The place was a mess, there was blood everywhere. If I wasn't the one fighting here before I would have thought that it was a massacre of half a dozen people or a couple of big sized beasts and not just a couple of guys. How much did the fat guy bleed?

"Yeah, those defensive abilities were incredibly annoying if they had someone to support them from a distance or they were faster we would have been in troubles. How are you feeling?"

I'm sure that would have been troublesome, even if we had long distance support too I don't think he would have taken the shot.

"I don't have any serious wound but I think that we should go back to patch me up, and with this much blood we can't stay here too much time, beast are going to gather here soon."

He seemed to think about something and added.

"Go check the place where they were staying until we came, I think that they were simple henchmen, and doesn't seem like they understand anything, but we might find something."

At that time Gabriel came down from the building and was pale while looking at the bodies of the guys we just fought. Leon came too, he was surprised about the amount of blood under the fat guy, but he took out the first aid kit and checked Zak wounds.

I thought about doing it so I can level up medicine soon, but I decided that now was more important to get as much information as we can.

As I got inside the building, I had to shut down my smell, this place stinks. Do these guys don't even know where to go to the bathroom?

As we thought there was nothing that they brought with them after receiving the orders. Using Psychometry, I found out that the furniture and everything I found, was already here before they came. A couple of guys used to live here. Those two henchmen arrived after Dr. Harting already passed by a couple of days ago.

I looked around, but I didn't saw wrappings or empty cans that they could have brought with them…

After looking around a second time, I left the place. A warm feeling came from inside me and Rose together with Lucy came from inside me.

'I'm sorry I lost track of time in the library.' She looked around trying to figure out where I was.

Since I was already leaving she recognized the place when we went out the building.

'The ambush place?'

'Yep, we took care of those two guys, but I didn't find new clues, only that this was another team from the group that assaulted us yesterday.'

I arrived next to Zak, that looked like a dalmatian with a lot of spots with the ointment the Leon applied on him.

"Did you find anything?"

"Nah, those guys didn't even bring food here."

"Hard to believe seeing that one."

He said pointing at the fat guy. I saw the hatchet… and then the spear. They should have come here with them.

I went ahead and take them. I took the hatchet first, it was annoying that I couldn't control what I saw when using this ability. Once the hatchet left the factory a guy bought it, he went out to camp quite often, I have no idea who he was, and it wasn't important, because someone kidnapped him after the meteor shower. I have no idea what happened to that guy after that, but the hatchet fell in the hands of the guy who took him, and then it was given to the pale skinny guy that I saw giving the orders. He was the one that gave the weapon to the guy I fought.

I touched the spear, it was a lot more primitive than the hatchet, since I touch the spearhead I didn't saw where the pole came from, but I saw that there was someone else that "made" the spear and gave it to the pale guy.

The guy that kidnaped the hatchet' original owner didn't seem like ones that I killed until now, so I think that this happened before the blood pool was working, and at that time, he was the one doing the dirty work.

'Did you see something?'

'Not much.' I showed her with shared thought. She seemed to be pondering about something too.

'I recognize the pale guy. He is a member of the city council.'

Now that she mentioned I also recognized the guy, I don't remember his name, but I have seen his face before. Well, it wasn't surprising to find a politician in a group that wanted to take control of the city I mean I have heard worst things than just kidnaps on some significant scandals…

It was when I remembered the day that I fought pyro and his partner's warning…

They were abducting people to join a group, and he warned me about someone… John Hamilton.

Hamilton was really suspicious, if he was alive, then why the police commissioner wasn't in Green Shelter? A rising politician would have taken this chance and take Green Shelter, unless he couldn't at the start or had a different idea.

It may have been an invitation from a senior or someone completely unrelated, but it was correct to think that there were more people like them involved in this…

It's going to be difficult to explain, but I need to talk with Dr. Harting about it. After thinking a little about it a think that it should be fine if he knows about psychometry.

"Is any of the weapons useful?"

Zak interrupted my train of thoughts, I had the weapons in my hands and handed back to him his spear. While checking the other weapons.

"The hatchet might help, but the spear is pretty bad."

"Yeah, I noticed that with a better spear the wounds I got could have been pretty nasty."

"You were lucky then, we should go back I can hear beast coming this way already."

We moved again, this time I had to take the vanguard. With Rose help, I managed to avoid the larger beasts, but the minor ones were pretty annoying to deal with, but it helped me a lot to the new weapons especially the tomahawk and the 5-7.

Rose was right about the faster leveling of the skills after taking weapon knowledge, probably blades proficiency would level up soon too, it would have gotten to level 2 but we were too close to Green Shelter so I couldn't keep practicing with them.

As we got close to the barricade, I decided to go talk with Dr. Harting right away and send Rose to see if she could find anything useful.

'Rose, can you go to the library and see if Hope knows if there is any information about Hamilton or the council member you recognized? it doesn't matter if the information is old?'

'Sure, but I don't think that we will be able to find anything, it's been already twenty years since the news are only coming out in electronic format.

'Yeah, but the pale guy seemed old maybe he has been around for a while.'

'Ok, I tell you what we found at training.'

She used Astral portal to go back to her body, there was no use in going on her astral form since no one but me could interact with her so far.

I moved directly to the school, to talk with Dr. Harting. Leon came with Zak to the infirmary that was on the school. Gabriel seemed a little off, but I didn't have time to talk to him.

I looked forward and noticed a familiar Siamese cat running towards me, he seemed distressed.

'Spencer~!! It was horrible they wanted to touch my paws, and then the real teacher came and is thinking about making me teach those devils~!!!'
