81 Stephan Harting

Dante's words made me realize that this was indeed going in that direction, but I didn't want to rush things with Rose, I wanted to make it special for her, at least make it a little more romantic and without Dana in the living room.

I was the type that preferred to take things slowly, the only girl that I have been with before was Hayley, and for Rose, it would be her first time. Because of the situation, things were going faster than they would have in our old world, so after talking, we decided to wait and try to make it special.

When I heard Dante's words, I turned pale and thought about Hope, G, and Hayley.

'I'm on my way. What happened?'

I got up and shared my thoughts with Rose who was looking at me with a worried face.

I took a jacket, my knife, and my handgun.

'I'm not sure but there is a group of people coming this way, and I can't read their minds, so I don't know their intentions, and I think they are tracking us~.'

I accelerated and finally found Hayley and the others, Hope made a relieved face, even if at the start they moved because of Dante's order, they all noticed that it was weird and asked about it, of course, Dante explained that someone was tracking them.

I could hear footsteps far away, and in the corner, I saw 4 figures appear, I recognized three of them right away. They were leisurely walking toward us, and I didn't feel danger coming from them.

The first I recognized was Ian, he had a grey aura, but was much weaker than Dante's, it was changing its shape all the time. There was also the telekinetic guy that was with Ian that day one he had a dark green aura with some part hand shaped, finally the third one was Dr. Stephan Harting, one of my professors at Aurora University, his aura was like a prismatic crystal with lots of colors and sharp edges.

The last guy was the one that was blocking Dante, his aura was like a living shadow that could cover everyone.

I stood there waiting for them. The guy with the black aura was some kind of specialist in avoiding detection. Dante was more like a general telepath without specialization, he could do everything, but probably someone that has a specialty might be better than him.

I could feel that their auras were weaker than Dante's, around Hayley and Hope's levels. They got close to us and stopped.

"Mr. Davies, it's been a while."

"It's been indeed Professor Harting, may I ask why are you following my friends?"

He just smiled and looked at all of them.

"After your encounter with Ian he told me what happened, so I tried to look for you to have a talk and share your thoughts about the situation, you were always brilliant, and you have figured out more things than me from what Aaron told me."

Hayley's father?

"My dad is with you?" Hayley was surprised when he mentioned her father.

"You must be Hayley I presume, he talked about your situation too. Did you learn to control it? I can't feel any threatening aura coming from you."

"Excuse me professor but you have to understand that is hard to believe that you came all the way here just for that, also sorry but I can't trust you while you have someone that already tried to use his mind tricks to manipulate us."

Dr. Harting was surprised when he heard this and looked at Ian.

"What's does he mean with that?"

"In our last encounter, I wanted to make them come with us, so I used my power to make them trust in me and come…"

Dr. Harting looked at Ian for a couple of seconds and shook his head disappointment, he bowed his head a little.

"I'm sorry for that, but you don't have to worry about him doing it again, and if he does your cat can tell you."

I looked at him with suspicions. How does he even know about Dante's ability? Like if he knew what I thought he told me right away.

"That it's my ability I can recognize different patrons and thanks to this I know the power that someone has… for example, Hayley is a cold or ice manipulator, That guy with the mace has some kind of power-up ability, and that girl that I assume is your sister, has an electronic of magnetism related ability."

I was expecting him to tell me my power. But after staring at me for a while, he gave me a wry smile.

"I can't see through you, so I have no idea what is your power."

"Enhanced Senses, since I already know all of your power I think is just fair."

I noticed that he also didn't mention Rose so I think he can't see her in the astral realm, I haven't seen him focus on her direction either, so I don't believe that he can detect her.

"I wonder why I can't see through that we have two people with enhanced senses in our group too, anyway will you talk with me? I have information that could be good too."

At that moment I felt a weird feeling on my back, someone was looking at us.

I looked at Dr. Harting with suspicion, but he was looking around like if he noticed something weird too.

I looked in the direction that Dante told me, and Dr. Harting followed my gaze.

"Sniper!" I gave the alarm, and we all tried to hide.

We all went into a building, I looked around to be sure that it would not fall down because of the shots and it seemed ok.

'The guy is coming~, he can teleport and is thinking on kidnapping one of the girls~.'

I was focused on Dr. Harting, I got the feeling that this wasn't something he planned, but he was somewhat involved.

I saw Hayley and Hope near me and waited. A second shot went through the wall, but it wasn't near any of us.

'Dante move all the beasts around to focus on the guy shooting at us.'

'Ok~.'

In the meantime, a guy suddenly appeared in the middle of the room. He looked around, and at the same time, I used time bubble.

He locked his gaze on the first girl he saw and tried to reach Hope with his hand. Unfortunately for him I already knew what he was trying to do and before he reached her and thank the fact that he was slowed down before he could do it and teleport back with her, two whistles sounded and two holes appeared on his head.
