110 Rescue team

I wasn't sure if this is just sad or the luckiest thing in the world, to get attacked by a bunch of kidnappers, lose the fight and then the kidnapers forgot to take you with them?? It definitely was sad, but thanks to that I was able to know that the mission failed and we had to go there to save the scout team before something happens to them and take the chance to investigate.

Dr. Rehn arrived together with the short guy I send and two more guys carrying the stretcher just at the time I was about to finish giving Stan the first aids. Dr. Rehn looked at my work.

"You know first aids?"

"Yes, I learned a little." I answered to Dr. Rehn without giving it importance and explained to him Stan's condition. "I extracted the poison from the snakes so he should be ok regarding that, his main problem now is the blood loss from the wound on his belly, I disinfected that wound and bandaged it, but he will need stitches, I don't know if there is internal damage."

Dr. Rehn nodded since Stan was stable for the moment they took him on the stretcher and went straight to the "hospital" to make a more thorough examination. I stood up and watch them leave and turned to Rose and the other to talk about our next steps.

"Denied." Rose suddenly said. The rest of the people all looked at her without understanding what she meant by that, she blushed a little but hold my gaze…

"Denied what?"

"What you are about to think, you are not going to call Dante and try to go play hero by going by yourself…"

"I haven't thought of that…"

"That's why I said you are about to…"

…

That's sound like something I would do…

"Then what you want to do? Make a new team?"

"First, we have to inform Dr. Harting, and when I say we I mean them, you have to go back home to rest, or Isabella is going to throw you back at the hospital, and I prefer to cuddle at home where no one is going to go into the room this morning was bad enough…"

Zak had an amused grin on his face while listening to Rose. Leon agreed with her… not the cuddle part the I should rest part.

"I'll go tell Dr. Harting what happened," Leon said.

Zak supported him and teased us at the same time.

"Yeah, you guys can go home and cuddle all you want, leave this to us."

Thank god Hope wasn't here… or this wouldn't be the end of it. suddenly an unexpected voice sounded on my head

'Tell them to add Hayley and G to the Rescue team~.'

'Dante? What are you doing? I need your help to sneak and go investigate…'

… I can't believe that I really end up thinking about this….

'I'm busy, so I can' help you~… and I don't want to face Rose's rage if I do that~…'

'What are you even doing?'

'Tell you later~ just tell them that~…oh and to leave Green Shelter in the morning~.'

'Oh! Good idea that way I can go with them.'

'No,~ you stay home to practice with Hope~. I have things to do bye.'

I wanted to know more about it, but I don't know if he cut the connection somehow… or he was just ignoring me.

I sighed in defeat.

"Ok let's go home, by the way… tell Dr. Harting this… Gerhard and Hayley are going to be part of the Rescue team. And it should leave early tomorrow."

"Who are those and isn't tomorrow going to be too late?

"You can find Hayley in the warehouse, and Gerhard at the armory. They are part of my group… about the timing… is for the best."

Zak didn't know them, and Leon had some doubts on his face about it too.

"Just say to Dr. Harting what I said that…"

"Ok… are you sure?"

"Yes, can someone go to where I live to tell me what happened at the end?"

"Sure, just go rest, probably we will call your friend, and you can hear it from them."

I went back together with Rose looking at me waiting for an explanation.

"Don't look at me like that… it's Dante's plan."

"And the plan is?"

"I have no idea."

"So the scout team failed…"

"Yes Dr. Zak find Stan that was able to escape from the fight and com to inform us, we should send a group to rescue them."

Dr. Harting nodded.

He was conflicted the lost of 4 important scouts was not a minor matter, but if he sends a rescue team, the loses could even be worse.

"How is Spencer doing?"

"Still recovering, he wanted to go right away, but Rose didn't let him."

Dr. Harting knew that with Spencer it would be a lot safer, he would be able to notice an ambush or that someone was spying on them but the group that went to investigate didn't have anyone with that level of awareness... Dr. Harting himself might be able to do it too but not at Spencer's level.

"We are going to make a group… I'm going too."

"Dr. Harting you shouldn't risk yourself like that, you the pillar of Green Shelter!"

Leon didn't agree with what Dr. Harting wanted to do.

"I know that, but after Spencer, I'm probably the one with that highest detection ability."

"Spencer said that Gerhard and Hayley should be on the group, and it should leave tomorrow morning."

Dr. Harting frowned, as far as he knew none of the had detection abilities but there should be a reason for Spencer to want them on the group...

"Did he give any explanation for not going right away?"

"No, he just said that it was for the best…"

"Do you think that he would be able to go tomorrow?"

"I don't know, he seemed a lot better, but I'm not sure if he will be recovered for tomorrow, maybe he wants to go too."

Dr. Harting thought that the reason for not going right away and going tomorrow instead it was for him to have time to recover. The mission had a higher possibility of succeed if he is recovered so waiting is not that bad of an idea.

"Good, we are going to leave it for tomorrow morning. Bring Hayley and Gerhard here. Zak, you are coming too."

Dr. Harting was thinking about more people.

"Is Milo on Green Shelter?"

"He is hunting."

"Bring him here too when he comes back. The fifth will be either Spencer or me depending on his recovery."

Zak left to pick up Hayley and Gerhard, in the meantime, Leon would be waiting for milo to comeback.

A low voice could be heard.

"I hope tomorrow is not too late."

"And this buff guy came to the armory together with Hayley saying that Dr. Harting was calling me."

G was telling the story while in the afternoon training. Rose didn't let me participate, so I was there correcting them and giving instructions.

"Once in his office, he said that we were going to be part of a rescue team, under Spence recommendation."

"It surprised me too, why did you say that?"

She didn't seem worried but didn't understand my decision.

"I don't know this is Dante's plan…"

"… now we are following the cat's orders?"

"He seems to have a plan so yes…"

"What is the plan? To stall for time, so you come too?"

"Actually, he told me to stay here…"

"Then what's the plan?"

"I have no idea… so who else is on the team?" I had to change the subject.

Hayley and G both looked and sighed, we all knew about Dante's abilities so to hide and no to something mean that he really had a plan.

"Zak, apparently he is your team partner and a weird guy called Milo, he didn't say anything the whole time and just kept nodding to everything that Dr. Harting said. Tomorrow if you are recovered you would come, at least that's what Dr. Harting thinks, and if not he would come with us."

I didn't like the idea, but I understood why Dr. Harting decided that. He also realized that Chambers probably discovered them and set up an ambush.

After finishing the training, I remembered that Dante said that I should train a little with Hope, so we stayed for a while for her extra training. Her control over her electromagnetic field had improved a lot while I wasn't looking, and she could modify them and create multiple ones, the time for trying the Railfle was coming soon.

Most of the time Rose was at my side just taking my hand with her eyes closed, and after a whole day with her, I felt a lot better.

I should be at my best condition after a good night of treatment…
