259 Reality Limits

It's my mind breaking? Or I'm being expelled from this Realm?

It's not physical pain, but it's like if I'm passing out.

After a few minutes, I was finally able to focus a little again. To be sure that nothing happens to me, Rose went into my soul to protect me no idea if It will work but it reassure me to have her with me. If she is there, she should be able to help me if something happens.

'Are you sure you feel okay?'

Rose worried voice sounded on my head, I felt a lot better after resting for a few seconds but was still a little dizzy.

'Don't worry, I will be fine you can notice that I'm already recovering right?

'I just want to be sure about it.'

I used the system to distract me from the pain and looked at the notifications and excluded all the mind attacks, and the minor beast kills, to find what I wanted more easily.

There was nothing that indicated that I was attacked by the reality in the notifications, I probably just need a good rest, and I will discuss this with Rose in more detail later.

When I got back, I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to use my paradox inducement for the time being, so I directly bought first aid kits and medicine from the system and proceeded to help the wounded in the old way.

After cleaning, disinfecting and even suturing some of the wounds, we set up a temporary camp in place.

The ointments I bought from the system were expensive but should shorten the recovery time and let them move by tomorrow.

The only one that worries me is Mark, who is in bad shape after the fight, but Hope will carry him in her vehicle.

The deaths of the Toad and the other D-Ranks made clear that the area was dangerous for most of the beasts, so not many of them dare to come over, and those that came didn't last for too long.

The next day most of them were able to move and walk back without problems except for Mark. Rose left my soul but was sure to keep Lucy behind just in case.

The moment she left the dizziness came back but a warm feeling spread from inside me and I was able to handle it. I looked around and only Rose noticed it.

The return to Green Shelter was slow, but thanks to the lack of beasts, we didn't find that many setbacks.

During the way, I was asked about the explosions that happened during my fight, and when I said that the Toad Planed B on me, G started to laugh and told me that karma is a b!tch.

About why I didn't use my ability to heal the others not everyone knows that I can do that, only the people in my party, so each of them asked me in private if I was okay. I avoided giving them a direct answer and just told them that I was going to answer that at home.

With the little handicap of not using my C-Rank powers, I tried to be careful and understand what happened, it was something complex that will most likely require Rose's and Dante's help to grasp.

All I know is that from now on that skill its banned (well… Rose banned it) until I understand what happened and how to prevent it from happening again.

(Dante's POV)

I could feel the moment they got into my reach.

I knew more or less what happened from what Spencer told me, but I couldn't get into their minds until they were in range, that at this moment was the border of the forest

Despite the wounds that they suffered, I knew that their state was a lot better, and even Mark's injuries were almost healed.

After talking with Dr. Rehn, the ones that suffered some injuries got into the hospital for a checkup and Hayley went to the Hunting HQ to inform about the Mapping mission completion.

The rest of them came back to the apartment, and I had to hide the book I was reading …

When they came in I was on the table reading Professor Dante vol.2, I have to say it this is a lot better than what I want to acknowledge.

As soon as they got here, Spencer told the party and me that he wanted to talk… I already knew all the story and had an idea of how it will go.

He was trying to play it cool, but I knew that he was more scared than what he wanted them to know and the only one that noticed it was Rose.

After cleaning themselves and waiting for Hayley to come back and get ready, they finally started the reunion.

The skill or technique that Spencer used was a supposed to be a Space induced paradox which he has been working on for a while, but in my opinion, it was full of weak points and shouldn't be allowed to be called a skill at all…

He briefly explained how he used a new power and tried to explain the abstract idea of the "reality" rejecting his existence.

"But you said that you felt the reality rejecting you before, right?"

Hope obviously remembered the first time Spencer told them about Space Shrink and the time he used "Rules Are Meant To Be Broken (RAMTBB)."

Even if it was true, their natures were utterly different from that flawed technique of his…

"It's different, most of my abilities meet some resistance, but it's like… inflating a balloon, the more you blow, the more difficult is to keep going, this time the balloon exploded and with that explosion, the remains lashed back at me. Sorry I don't know how to explain it…"

For starters, RAMTBB doesn't go against reality as he thinks… he manipulates the laws, so they willfully change. I don't get how the system allowed him to get into C-Rank with that intelligence or low skills… if I talk with it again I should tell him to make the requirements harsher…

Rose nodded to his explanation. She is a lot smarter, but without knowing the reality of how it works, it's difficult for her to get to the same conclusion that I did, it's not like she can go around stealing knowledge.

"I get it… you usually push the reality limits to a certain extent but even if bending those rules is difficult the more you bend them it was always to a certain limit… your new ability broke those limits, and you suffered a retaliation."

*sigh*

'No, no, no, you are getting it wrong…'

I noticed that I thought that out loud if that's even a thing… they were all looking at me, so I had to continue my explanation.

'He doesn't push their limits… the laws usually change the limits for him. It's like… the difference between human's mating and animal's mating… humans use manipulation or charisma, so their partners are willing to procreate, while animals just… do it.'

"So… usually he lures reality with sweet words, but with this technique, he just acts like a horny beast?"

The girls were frozen without knowing how to react to the analogy… and moved a little away from Spence.

I have to say that Spence wronged face was hilarious, but that's totally outside the point…

Despite the way, they got what I was trying to say. G just laughed and continue to tease Spence.

"I told you that you can't go around forcing them… you have to be gentle."

"Hey! He is gentle most of the time!"

Of course, he didn't expect that his sister would talk in his defense.

The second Rose spoke those words, her face changed into a bright shade of red, Hayley shifted around uncomfortably, and Hope was saving this moment in her memory to tease her friend later. G on the other hand was … on shock.

I should take back this talk to its normal route before G starts to plan to kill Spence.
