117 Inside The Sewers

Because I was detected almost instantaneously, I didn't have enough time to get a lot of information about all of the NDR dealings, I focused on extracting the information that I needed, luckily it was on the first layers of John Hamilton's mind. After obtaining the information about the blood pool and abductions to complete Spencer's mission, I was able to get two additional pieces of information.

The Group that we attacked is part of a larger group, the NDR (the political party) is still operating in North America and trying to take control of various cities, they probably had a way to communicate with each other, but I didn't have enough time to see it.

The second piece of information was that John Hamilton's father, James Hamilton was still alive and was always the leader of the New Democratic Revolution.

This information was relevant and might be vital for the future, but it doesn't change our current situation.

As for the general plan, it worked perfectly, it should take them a couple hours to notice that they just got back their weaker subjects and went in a wrong direction, if they even see it. And with Chambers busy trying to get back his sniper (the only strong member that I didn't bring to Green Shelter) we have at least a day before they chase us.

Usually, this would be enough for me to go back, but I have to regroup with Cai-Cai and Pinky and the go back with the scout team. The plan for this part was to move through the sewers to prevent being seen by Chambers.

I arrived at a giant chamber where Pinky's minions were checking the wounds of the survivors, Johanna who was the only one conscious rejected the "treatment," so Frederick, Ines, and Cecily were being licked by the rats.

From what I discovered, when Pinky and his minions arrive to rescue the hostages, they thought that Cecily was one of use, and as she resisted surrounded her and pounced on her, at that moment probably due to fear, she fainted. She had only a couple of minor injuries because of the fall.

Johanna was looking around the sea of rats, and a light-blue snake moving around, confused and scared at the same time. I went next to her side, she recognized me as soon as she saw me and managed to relax a little, who can't relax when a cute cat goes into the room right?

Pinky noticed me too.

'Former Demon Lord, we successfully have rescued the princesses and the general of the Human Kingdom Kidnaped by the Blood Lord!'

'Good job Pinky~, the hero will be proud of you~.'

Pinky seemed full of himself, I looked at the other survivors.

I looked around and noticed that the rats were no longer licking people, this was my cue to continue the travel back to Green Shelter.

'Pinky prepare to carry everyone, we are going back to the Human Kingdom~.'

Just as I finished my phrase, the rats started to move around and prepared to move the bodies of the rest of the survivors. I noticed that Johanna was reluctant and tried to avoid the rats, so I went to talk to her.

'I told you that you were going to hate the plan~.'

She gave me a wry smile.

'Yeah, I'm not sure if the Rats or the NDR are worse.'

'The NDR~… you probably would have ended as a servant of one of the perverts so you can imagine what that means~.'

Oh! She was joking… I think I talk too much. Her wry smile froze when she remembers the words that Ramsey said about making Ines a servant.

'I didn't think that you would be able to rescue us… thank you.'

'Pinky and his minions deserve most of the credit~, don't ever tell him or Cai-Cai that I said that~.'

She laughed a little, she didn't like rats, but she was relieved of being safe thanks to them. As she laughed a few sobs were mixed, and tears came down her cheeks. I told pinky to give her a minute before sending the rats to move her. Since she had a wound on her leg, I cuddled next to her, putting my head under her hand, she subconsciously petted me, and I started purring until she calmed down.

As I waited for her to calm down, I watched Spencer situation for a while, they have found Stan, and they were planning to send people to help…

'Tell them to add Hayley and G to the Rescue team~.'

I need a way to scare the rats away, or they would go into the human kingdom, I mean Green Shelter…I need to avoid Pinky or I will end like him. And G will be helpful to carry the injured people.

'Dante? What are you doing? I need your help to sneak and go investigate…'

'I'm busy, so I can't help you~… and I don't want to face Rose's rage if I do that~…'

'What are you even doing?'

'Tell you later~ just tell them that~…oh and to leave Green Shelter in the morning~.'

If they leave now, Chambers will notice them too fast, and it will become dangerous, if they go in the morning they will find us in a short span of time.

'Oh! Good idea that way I can go with them.'

'No,~ you stay home to practice with Hope~. I have things to do bye.'

Hope's practice was just one of the things I knew he was worried about, and the system told me to make him rest until he fully healed.

In the meantime, Cai-Cai got curious when she saw Johana crying, so she approached us, and I introduced her to Johanna, Johanna didn't like snakes, but when Cai-Cai was in her small form, she looked cute, so it was ok.

Johanna petted Cai-Cai for a while. Everyone else was ready to go, Johanna was more relaxed, so I told her to try to lay down and close her eyes.

I calmed her mind and made her think of other stuff when the rats lifted her.

This was by far the worst place I have ever been, it stinks, and I don't want to think about what I am standing on. The rats moved in a slow but steady pace, from time to time I noticed that the rat that got tired left and a new one got into the place. One more time I tried to get into one of this rats mind, but it was impossible to understand what was happening.

The NDR base was already out of my reach so I couldn't know what was happening there, it wasn't that I was too far, but I think that being underground could be related, I could contact Spencer just fine, so there is no problem there.

The only countermeasure that I used for this part of the plan was done when I designed the routes of the runaway servants when I moved most of the time I had at least one servant between my reach so I could see the situation outside.

Johanna fell asleep, Cecily woke up for a second and noticed that she was being kidnaped by rats, she moved and fell but the rat swarmed before she could stand up and fainted again, that is going to leave a nasty scar on her mind, she is terrified of the rats.

To be honest, I thought about leaving her behind, but if they found her too soon, they will know that we are on the sewers and that will make it a little easier for them to find our whereabouts. I knew that she didn't want to really stay on the NDR but feared them if we manage to bring her to our side her power would stop being wasted as it was with them.

I probably could help her the rat phobia and talk a little but I prefer having them either sleeping, fainted, unconscious it would be annoying to explaining to them the plan and calming them when they see that they are surrounded by rats and a snake.

I looked around once again to see the state of the survivors. Frederick took a good beating at the end of the battle, probably due to blood loss he was going to stay like that for a while, but I think he will be ok.

The one that I was anxious about was Ines, she just took a single hit on the head and haven't woke up since then. I noticed that her thoughts were on a deeper layer of her mind and more challenging to read than the rest. Some memories were also going deeper on her head, she is going to have amnesia if she manages to survive.

I haven't noticed how tired I am, how many hours have I been awake? I want a cozy bed and sleep for a whole week now.

I looked at Cai-Cai that was sleeping on top of a stinky cushion carried by the rats…

Should I try something like that to sleep a little?

NO! That's the fatigue talking, I don't need rats to carry me… I have dignity.
