103 Don’t Worry She’s My Cat’s Friend

I was still dizzy from using psychometry, but seeing Rose and Dante going to the forest made me worry

'Dante what are you doing in the forest?!?!?'

'We wanted to prevent the beasts from the forest from destroying the city~… I might be in a little trouble tho~… I'm going your way together with Cai-Cai, Rose and Lucy~, and some snakes are chasing us.'

'Who is Cai-Cai?

'A new friend, she is a snake… don't worry she's cool she eats rats and all, so don't kill her.'

I think that there are a lot of snakes that eat rats so I don't think that using it as a way pick potential friends, was good enough but Dante wouldn't bring someone dangerous to us… right?

I could hear a commotion coming from the forest. Thanks to my senses I noticed that they were getting near.

'How will I know which one is Cai-Cai?'

'You will notice, don't worry you should be able to see us now.'

Just as he said that from inside the forest, appeared one of the most bizarre images that I have seen in my life…

A light-blue snake was moving towards us on top of her a Siamese cat was trying to not fall, and my girlfriend and her bunny were flying at their sides.

It would have been a pretty funny image… if it wasn't by the fact that the light blue snake was our original objective and they were being followed by at least a dozen snakes. With the commotion, all the team noticed that a group of beasts were coming towards us.

"Mmmm guys get ready to fight … and don't shoot the blue snake."

"Why? Do you see something? And what do you mean don't shoot the blue snake?" Hope was the first that asked with her head tilted.

"She is kind of… Dante's friend I think? Well, they are coming this way and are being followed by at least a dozen snakes."

Hope looked at me with her "You have to be joking" face, but Zak didn't know who Dante was.

"Who is Dante?"

"My cat…" and I pointed in the direction they were coming.

Usually, they will think that I am crazy and probably they thought that, but as they followed the direction of my finger, Cai-Cai and Dante could already be seen by them, Gabriel was the first that noticed the Snake and cat duo.

"Is a cat riding the snake?"

"Yeah… that's my cat."

Even Hope turned her head toward me, but none of them knew how to respond to that, so we just got ready to fight.

I don't think I can fight this time without using time distortion. Unlike the usual fight we have half of the snake's auras were stronger than the others, so we have to fight about 10 Ranked beast at the same time. This proportion was a little higher than usual, but it wasn't the right moment to think about.

"Shoot to the sides, avoid the blue snake. Believe me, you don't want to be enemies with Dante."

Everyone snapped off and got ready to fight, Gabriel and Hope went into a building to take cover and shot from the higher ground, Leon went behind us to gather rubble, and prevent the snakes from getting into the building that our snipers went.

Even if I wanted to move forward, I had to stay close to the city. Cai-Cai speed was faster than the other snakes even with Dante on her, so there was no problem on waiting for her.

I studied the auras of the snakes following them, there were three spitters, most of the other had similar auras to what I have seen to be related to speed or skin enhancement, there were two with aura that I have never seen before, what seemed more like if it was covered by slime and the second one was weird.

Cai-Cai's aura was light-blue, and it was confusing to distinguish from her normal skin.

With Hope and Gabriel in position, the first two bullets were fired. I took my Five-seveN and started to shoot towards the spitters. The spitters were usually the same color as the base snake, but about a meter long. In this area, the snakes were around 70 cm before, so after the meteor shower, most of the snakes that became ranked beast grew from their usual size. Those that got a physical enhance were around twice the size before, approximately one and a half meters.

Trying to snipe a snake from this distance was easier said than done, after the first round none of us managed to get a hit, I kept shooting trying to kill the spitters before they arrive, in the meantime Hope reloaded and managed to hit a normal snake.

In the way here, I depleted one of the extended magazines already, so I had one extended and one normal for this fight, of course, I can get more through the system in the case I need. After shooting from a distance, I managed to take down 1 spitter and a normal snake that got on the way and prevented me from killing the second one. Hope shot down another of the F-Ranked beast, and Gabriel took down another spitter with his second shot.

I could notice Zak nervousness when Cai-Cai arrived at our side, Dante jumped down from her and Rose was looking at me with a guilty face. My second extended magazine was empty now, but the other snakes were almost at close range.

I was the one in the front of everyone so when the snakes noticed that I was in their way to Cai-Cai they just jumped at me. Two of them got a sudden burst on their speed thanks to their power, and another three were normal snakes.

The time became slower around me, this gave me time to avoid the two fast snakes and cut the three normal snakes with one wide attack with my kukri. The speed of the fast snakes when they were slowed down by time distortion was about the average speed of the snakes so while I used time distortion to avoid and attack it looked like a normal fight.

While I fought those two snakes, three more normal snakes died one got shot, and Zak had just pierced the one with the weird aura and didn't move. Leon was throwing rubble to the slimy one that apparently had some kind of skin enhancement too, after being smashed by the rubble the snake left from under it as if nothing had happened, Zak went towards that snake, to keep fighting.

As I was fighting with those two snakes, one with a skin enhance finally arrive at my side, but as I kept turning time distortion on and off, I managed to strike it with the tomahawk without problems. The slimy snake was fighting Zak right now, and the remaining spitter was shot by Hope.

My sixth sense made me realize that there was something wrong just as a piercing pain went through my leg. The two snakes I was fighting were in mid-air when this happened. It was weird but a second bite on the same leg made me look while I was avoiding.

At my leg a two-headed snake with a weird aura was biting me, I cut it, and both heads fell to the ground, the poison made my body sluggish, luckily Hope or Gabriel I have no idea which, managed to shot down one of the speed snakes.

The second snake wanted to attack too, but when it was going to jump on me, Dante took his chance and jump on it slowing it down enough for me to for me to cut it with my kukri.

I looked around Zak supported by Leon were still fighting the same snake that seems to be avoiding all that he tried to do, Rose was with Cai-Cai who managed to kill the remaining normal snakes, and the other skin enhanced snake that was left.

I looked around to be sure that there were no more snakes beside the one that Zak was fighting while trying to make a tourniquet for the poison to not spread too fast. In my notification log, I saw three from killing the F-Ranked beasts.

Didn't I kill Four?

I subconsciously looked at the snake with the weird aura and found that the two heads that I just cut had new bodies and were starting to come towards me. The headless body now also had two new heads.

I was going to move but almost fell due to the dizziness. I could feel that my body was starting to fight the poison and my skin temperature was rising.
