255 Confused
(G's POV)
I am slightly nervous about my role in this fight. I knew that striking the last hit will provide me with a little upgrade on a stat, so if Spencer wants me to get the last hit was because he wanted me to get stronger.
I know that I'm the weakest in the party, but the main reason for leaving the points for me wasn't that. It was because I'm the Main Tank, and that means that I have to be able to fight head on and don't die in the process. Making me stronger will makes us stronger as a group, so even if I was stronger, I think that they would still give me these chances.

I was waiting in the middle of the formation, ready to attract their attention as soon as they appear… lately, I have been thinking about changing my weapon from a two-handed, to a one-handed so I can have a shield, but that has to wait for the moment as I'm not used to fighting like that, and the lack of experience would drag us down.
I calmed myself thinking on ways to stop a beast on the level of an Alpha.
Spencer was on the left flank and placed some traps a while ago together with Sophie's and the goons help. That should cover the sides in the case that some of the beasts slip by.
Besides that, I noticed that the four new guys were clearly nervous, but seeing Spencer's and Hayley's calm faces probably helped them a lot… I wonder if I will get to that level or I will always have this anxiousness before a battle.
Spence's face turned serious and looked forward.
I followed his gaze and saw… nothing…
"Get ready!!"
Even if I can't see anything yet, it's clear that the battle is about to begin. I took a minute before I heard something coming.
The mostly dark-green and brown scaled beasts were difficult to spot. I did my best to find the one that I thought was the most threatening one, but besides a grey-scaled alligator that was the same size as an SUV I didn't find any beast that could be the one Spencer mentioned… and that one didn't make me feel the oppressive, threatening aura that came from the cow.
I quickly sweep with my eyes again to see if I missed something, a rainbow-colored toad and a red snake were also in the group, but besides their colors, there was nothing else to them.
I focused on the alligator, and the battle started.
"AHHHHHH!"
It was a lame attempt of a battle cry to grab their attention, but it worked. The beasts in front of me decided that I was annoying enough for them to attack me instead of the rest and this included the grey alligator.
Hope had engaged with a chimera of a toad and lizard, it was weird seeing a jumping lizard that kept throwing an odd cyan smoke from its mouth, but Hope was a good counter for it as she made her weapons rotate around creating air currents to counter and prevent the smoke from getting here.
I did get smarter…
On the other side, I noticed that Spencer wasn't using his powers and was being overwhelmed by beasts, I just noticed that his side had more beasts than any other place and he was facing multiple semi-humans and chimera.
I looked around and noticed that the toad's eyes were shinning and focused on Spencer…
A thought crossed my mind… Is it somehow preventing Spence from using his powers?
I wanted to go help him before he gets overrun by beasts, but leaving this place meant that our rearguard would be exposed to their attack and this number of beasts isn't something that Mark can manage on his own.
Sophie noticed Spencer's troubles too and focused on shooting that area to release some pressure from him.
Together with her, my sister appeared at his back just in time to cut a snake that was about to jump on him from behind. She cut it cleanly in two with her new claws and disappeared again.
This brought me some peace of mind, but I couldn't help but feel that there was something wrong… wasn't there supposed to be an Alpha here? I avoided an acid spit from a snake that barely missed me and kept attacking the alligator.
Near me, I noticed that Mark was fighting with a lizard that kept detaching and throwing its own scales, it was similar to the battle with the iron duck but at least this time the beast is on the floor.
It was when it happened. The red snake disappeared from its place.
Not sure how I knew that something was wrong
I looked back at the place where Spence was fighting and saw it.
The red Snake reappeared behind him, there was no way for him to not notice it if I did so he turned around ready to attack, but the snake was out of its reach. It opened its mouth, and something that appeared to be a red liquid came out…
Spencer unable to use his power wasn't able to avoid it… but Rose appeared at his front and protected him from the attack.
"No!!!!"
The attack touched her skin, and she screamed in pain, her clothes caught fire as she was burnt by the direct attack from the snake.
My blood was boiling. My golden aura turned darker, and a crimson red was mixed on it.
Spencer also screamed the floor trembled, and the space around him was completely frozen as if someone pressed the pause button. The hateful gaze and aura that surrounded him was something that I never saw before, but I didn't care less.
The only thing in my eyes was my sister and the beast that attacked her.

Before I could take revenge on the snake the space around spencer was filled with weird runes. The snake and all the other beasts frozen around Spencer trembled and became smaller.

They couldn't retain their form as they were compressed without being able to move.

At the third shock, the beasts that were surrounding him became just dead balls of compressed meat and bones.
In the center on the gory imploded beasts, he has surrounded my sister with his arms. He looked back at me and said something that I couldn't understand …
I didn't have the chance to ask him. The runes got brighter, and he disappeared on a flash.
My blood was still burning through my veins.
It all happened so fast that I wasn't able to let out my rage so obviously the alligator was the objective.
Unlike what I thought would happen the alligator didn't take the attack head-on and seemed to move back.
I used a leap attack taking advantage of my new aura. I thought it was done with this attack, but it somehow managed to deflect it using its tail.
I wasn't sure how but at my side a red snake appeared. The appearance made my blood boil again…
'Spencer has taken care of you!!! How is it that you are alive.'
Instead of trying to spit fire like before, it tried to bit my arm.
I let the weapon go as it got in the way of my movements and throw a punch, just as I was about to hit it the snake disappeared again.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHH"
My vision was losing colors. Mark saw me and moved in my direction, he was heavily injured, but the alligator he was fighting was now battling with one of the goons…
As he got near me, he suddenly was frozen on the spot…
I didn't have the time to think anymore. Another beast appeared near me, and I kicked it back… despite the hardness of the scales the beast flew a couple of meters and landed on top of a rock.
"THIS FKING BEAST!!!"
I roared in frustration as I felt the pain in my hand…
Looking around I didn't get anymore what was going on…
Without Spencer, the right flank fell, and we were getting surrounded. Hope had to move back and landed on one of our traps.
The alligator roared in front of me trying to intimidate me, I saw beasts and some of our group shaking in fear, but I was already past that point…
Rose was probably going to be fine, Spencer can heal her wounds.
Knowing that my sister was going to be fine finally brought me back.
I heard a second roar
I felt fear, and it was also getting colder…
Is it possible to resist until Spencer comes back?... but… even if he comes is there any point on it? We already lost with him here.
The least I can do is try to give time for them to escape right?
I looked back but what I found was more beasts than in the front some frozen, and even some of us were caught on it…
How did they pass through me?
Why is everyone frozen?
My head started to hurt, but I understood that the toad was probably the Alpha. He was able to somehow prevent Spencer's power from working, and even Hayley was now having troubles using hers…
If I kill it, we might be able to survive…
I kicked the floor to move straight at the toad, but my way was blocked by the alligator. I was ready to jump and step on it to just pass through it…
But I forgot the snake…
And I couldn't do anything to prevent it from appearing on my side and bite my forearm.
