(Spencer's POV)

A month has gone by since Dante scolded me, and it has been horrible.

I had nightmares, and it was difficult to sleep, Dante and Rose think that it's a side-effect of using that ability, but they seemed to calm down in the last week, but I'm still reluctant to use any space-time related power.

In the beginning, I was mad at Dante for everything he said, but I also understood what was wrong with that skill and started to work once again on the basics.

The system doesn't have any side effect, so I'm free to use it. To make more efficient the learning process, I added some points in Intelligence and wisdom, leaving both in multiple of five to take advantage of the Perfect Mind perk to get a couple of extra points in each.

I also took the E-Rank power Enhanced Brain Capacity, which doesn't improve my intelligence per se but helps me process the incoming information from my enhanced senses. It should help when I'm accelerated too. There is a D-Rank power I have in mind, but I'm still some EP away from it.

Since I can't stay at the library reading and learning all day long, during the morning, I decided to help in the new clinic, where I learned the basics of patient care from Isabella and Maggie while Dr. Rehn and Dr. Pierlot guided me on diagnosis and treatments.

In the afternoons I go to the library and study science. To accelerate the learning process, I asked for a permit from Dr. Haring and absorb an advanced math book.

As for my studies, due to Dante's words, I'm focusing on advanced theories about gravity, relativity and space phenomena that were further ahead on my major's curriculum, if there is something that I don't understand I always can ask Dr. Harting about it.

Most of the time, Rose is either at my side or inside my soul. During my science learning process, she hits the metaphysics books and spends time going in and out the Astral Realm trying to figure out the most important laws there and experiment with the effects of the Astral energy in this world. From time to time we discuss both our findings, I have Astral link so it would be good to know that power better.

After that comes the usual training. Since I can't use my C-Rank power, the actual combat training was mainly limited to train my body. Not being able to use my abilities against G proved to be challenging, painful, and absurdly rewarding as my stats grew steadily.

The remaining time of the evenings I teach Sophie who managed to control her power to infuse smaller ammunition like arrows and high caliber bullets, but she still can't infuse other elements, but I can see her aura getting similar to Hayley's from time to time, so I'm looking forward to her ice arrows.

With the pace in which the exp bars from my knowledge abilities were growing, most of them have already leveled up, and it will take a while for the next level up. This also helped improve some of my mind stats.

My mind was filled with ideas of how to improve and apply my powers in a lot of different ways, but until there is no other side effect remaining from the last time, I will have to wait.

The bright side is that after the last recruits training, and Hayley's last hunting trip, I have enough EP for the Power I wanted.

The usual headache came together with the information about my new supportive power.

Visualization is difficult to explain power unless you use it, in a way is similar to the augmented reality systems on sale and allows me to see the world differently.

I opened my eyes and looked around me.

At first, there doesn't seem to be any change, but I could feel something different.

As I focused on that feeling, letters, numbers, and symbols appeared in front of me and floated around. I just watched them dance around, at this point, I couldn't touch them, but I could move them around with a thought if I wanted.

The floating symbols represented both what I know and what I don't know about everything. Through this, the ability feeds me with information about the stuff I see, in a similar way to the appraisal skill in some games, but unlike those games, the information I see is not explicitly told… the info I get has to be complemented with my own understanding to make sense of it.

For example, we all know that around us there is air, we don't see it, but we know it's there. Right now, I see chemical symbols and formulas that I know represent the gases in the air. Together with them, other symbols, equations, and numbers that represent their characteristics, I recognize some of them quickly, but there are others that I see for the first time.

This wasn't the only advantage that I have when I use the ability, I focused on the lamp next to the bed, and my mind was absorbed by the object, just like with psychometry I saw the lamp story … since this lamp has been here since we arrived, I prefer to not go into details about the things that had happened in this room, but now I can use psychometry in any object on sight.

Finally, the most essential part of my power is when I apply it to a person.

In bed Rose was sleeping peacefully, today she understood and advanced the study of the Astral Energy applications in the real world, but bringing that energy here was too taxing, so she fell asleep as soon as we get to our room.

I focused my new power on her.

I can't see names, but I can understand the physiological state of her body, besides this, when I watch the aura, I understand the effect of her powers to a certain extent. I didn't need to relate the color to an area, now I can directly see how it affects the world.

In Rose's aura, I can see mostly symbols that I don't understand. But I was able to relate her ability to one of Dante's claims.

As he explained, Rose can open a portal that allows her to extract the energy from the Astral Realm. Right now I can understand that she creates a modified wormhole to establish the connection, also from the physiology state I know that her neurons are modified which I think it's related to the method she uses to open the portal and control the Astral Energy.

Unfortunately, I don't understand any of the other symbols, so there is no way for me to figure out more about her power.

This month showed me that even if with the help of the system, I can have a massive leap in power, this has to go together with my understanding of the basics.

Dante was right…
