2 My New World (Edited)

In Japan, in the city of Sainan, there is an orphanage where a child is currently sleeping without anything special happening. However, his face twitches for some reason, and suddenly his eyes open and he sits up, slowly looking around.

"It's real, the ad was real," he says, as if confirming the truth of something impossible. He feels a rush of memories flooding his mind, remembering the past six years of his life in this world.

His name is Errol, with no surname, and he was left as an orphan in front of the orphanage with only his name written on a piece of paper.

For the past few years, he has been a smart and mature child compared to his peers, always helping out where he can.

"Well, at least I still have my name. It would be awkward to use another one," Errol chuckles lightly before falling silent, his expression turning into a frown.

"So now I'm in the world of 'To Love Ru.' But why... why do I feel sad?"

Some might say that he wanted this, but could you believe in something like an ad that suddenly appeared on your screen? He may have filled it out, but he didn't believe in that thing, not even a bit, until this happened.

He may have fantasized about something like this, but it doesn't mean he really wanted it. There are still a lot of things he wanted to do in his previous world.

He wanted to repay his parents who raised him and thank them for their 25+ years of love, affection, and care. He also wanted to try to be a better version of himself, find a wife, have children, and show them that he has built his own family. There are many more things he wants to do.

In the following days, he feels depressed and sad for not fulfilling his duty as a child of his family. The other people living in the orphanage notice his sudden change and become worried. They try to talk to him, but he responds as if on autopilot. After a few days, he shows some signs of recovery and talks to them normally.

Since coming here, Errol has been sitting in a corner, watching everything unfold in front of his eyes. He hasn't paid much attention to it, as he was still depressed and thought it might all be a dream. But in the end, he accepts that this is the reality he will live in from now on.

Reluctantly, he decides to move forward with this feeling inside him for now.

"[Your Gifts are here. Would you like to receive them now?]

[Accept] [Later]"

"Okay... it's better to find something to do instead of doing nothing and succumbing to depression. I accept."

After that, he suddenly feels a rush of memories and information about Tracing, Taekwondo, and something that feels connected to him.

[Skill Leveling System is now online]

[Please say "status"]

Errol looks at the screen in wonder before uttering the signature words of a system user.

"Status."

"Hmm, it's the same as what I asked for. Now that I think about it, I should have added dimensional hopping to the system function so I can try to go back," Errol thought as he looked at his system.

"Now I feel more depressed because of my stupidity. What was I thinking when I asked for these? Maybe I really didn't believe in it and just wrote what I wanted to see in a fanfic. Now I regret not making it overpowered."

"(Sigh) I should at least try this gacha. Maybe there is something I can get that will wash away this depression," Errol muttered.

[You got a Basic Chi Cultivation Technique]

[Accept][Stored]

"Hmm, it's a basic technique with nothing special. But the system I asked for was supposed to help me become superior in skills, just like the body cultivation technique of Lin Fan (Strongest System). It started as a technique taught to people who would be punching bags for the other disciples of the sect, but it evolved into something so powerful that it made Lin Fan a formidable body cultivator with incredible defense and recovery," Errol thought, trying not to get more depressed about it.

"Accept."

[Learned Basic Chi Cultivation Lvl 1]

Errol stood up and went somewhere hidden to try practicing it. At first, he felt some kind of energy in the surroundings, and using the technique, he absorbed some of it and slowly turned it his own. As time passed, when he woke up, he was greeted by the system screen.

He checked the time and was shocked to see that five hours had passed since he started at 10 a.m., and now it was 3 p.m. He wondered if this is how those monks feel when they cultivate for a couple of months.

Errol tried to move and he felt more energetic, to the point that he could smash steel into pieces with his fist alone, but he knew it was just his imagination.

Now he felt some energy in his body and tried to move it to his hands. He saw some hazy light on his fingertips. It was weak, but he couldn't help but smile like a child discovering something new.

Who doesn't have dreams as a kid to have powers? And now he had fulfilled one of those dreams.

Errol then looked at the sky, thinking about what he should do in this world.

"Hmm, Lala's father is the emperor of this galaxy. Then there should be more galaxies out there with their own culture and many things I have never seen and never will in my previous life," Errol said out loud, luckily with nobody around to think he had something wrong in his head.

Errol then made a determined face while saying, "From now on, I should try to increase my strength and explore this vast universe. With the powers that I can gain just from cultivation and its bonus of a longer lifespan, exploring most of them should be possible."

The moment all those words left his mouth, it felt like he saw a new road for him to walk. He couldn't help but feel more relaxed, as at least now he had something to focus on.

Errol started to walk back to the orphanage, his friends from his previous self and some other people were relieved that he no longer had the vibe of someone who didn't know what to do with his life.

He apologized to them for worrying them and decided to take the first step in trying to live in this world.

Time passed, and it had been 3 months since Errol awakened his memories from his previous world.

At first, he was full of longing and depression about losing his family in his previous world. However, time is the medicine for most things, and now he was able to move on and live his life.

He didn't forget his family, but he held them deep inside his heart and took it as a lesson to not live a life full of regrets anymore, and not to disappoint the people who would be close to him.

Outside the orphanage, Errol was walking while checking his neighborhood. He had asked for permission from the matrons of the orphanage to walk outside.

Since she knew him very well, she didn't mind and gave him permission. But he was still lectured on what to be careful of—like not going too far or walking with shady strangers who offered candy, even though he already knew. He still listened.

Seeing Errol listen to every word she said, she gave him a couple of yen, just enough to buy some snacks while walking.

Now it was time to explore this city and try to find if there were any aliens hidden somewhere, like the nurse at school or a ghost in some warehouse.
