Examinations are essential today

Though examination is a part of academic activity, it makes the students mechanical. They support that it is useful for the procedure of admission, but what about their creativity? In the days of examination, students work hard discarding all other activities.

They suffer physically and mentally and sometimes fall ill. So it is the truth that too many examinations burden the students.

Examinations make the students dull and practically insolvent. Instead of theoretical examinations, they should be engaged in practical works, projects, seminars, discussions, workshops and such other activities. The overall purpose of learning is to develop in the reader the attitudes, abilities and skills needed for obtaining information, fostering and reacting to ideas, developing interests and finally, turning them into good human beings.

The end of learning should be obtaining delight and pleasure, but in our schools and colleges the learning ends with tests and exams, which create unnecessary exam fear in them. So we must ban examinations and concentrate on the overall development of the learner.
