25 She's Terrible With Direction, Not an Idiot

Xiang Dongnan frowned. His face was a bit gloomy, so he didn't try to defend himself.

After all, he was the one who brought Lu Yao here. If something really happened to her, he couldn't blame anyone, and he would feel really guilty.

He gave the address to Shao Yunchen, then told him his phone number. "Let's split up. If you find her first, then I'll have to trouble you to give me a call…"

Shao Yunchen didn't wait for him to finish talking and walked out without even looking at him.

Xiang Dongnan was stunned. His eyes became darker as he looked at Shao Yunchen's back.

In the convenience store, it was fortunate that the manager knew how to speak English. Lu Yao easily borrowed his charger. She found a place to sit down and plugged in her phone. Two minutes later, she turned it on.

After opening the screen, she flipped to her contact list and was about to call Xiang Dongnan when a notification suddenly popped up on her screen one by one. After half a minute, all notifications came in.

Lu Yao was shocked.

Blinking her eyes, she quickly opened a few messages.

It was all Xiang Dongnan's missed calls and messages, asking where she was and why she didn't pick up her phone.

When she pressed the return button, she unintentionally saw another number. Her eyes slowly froze.

Shao Yunchen?

Was he looking for her?

After being stunned for a second, her phone suddenly rang. She was so shocked that her hand trembled and she quickly pressed the button to receive the call.

"Where are you? Why are you picking up your phone just now?" It was a familiar deep yet steady male voice, but for some reason, Lu Yao could hear a trace of anxiousness in his voice.

She shook her head and replied stiffly, "I… I ran out of battery."

"Send me your location. I'll pick you up." The man didn't ask further.

Lu Yao really wanted to ask him why he's looking for her, but she felt that it was unnecessary. She just pretended as if nothing had happened and refused. "No need. My phone has just been charged. I'll take a taxi and go back later."

"Are you sure you can find the way? This is not China." The man couldn't help but mock her. Then, he quickly said, "I'm driving, so I can't be distracted. Send me your location. I'll go there right now."

Without giving her a chance to refuse, he hung up the phone.

Lu Yao was a bit mortified by his words. She's terrible at directions, but she was not an idiot. If she couldn't find the way, can't she ask for directions? She can use navigation too.

She pouted, then used her fingers to share her location on WeChat. She's tired after walking for too long. The moment she sat down; she didn't want to move anymore.

While waiting, she called Xiang Dongnan.

"Hello, Senior Brother."

"Where are you? I've been looking for you. I'm about to die from anxiety." Xiang Dongnan was finally relieved when she finally answered her phone.

Lu Yao felt guilty. "Sorry, Senior Brother. I forgot the time when I was walking, and I didn't notice that my phone was out of battery."

"It's good that you're fine. Where are you right now? I'll come and pick you up."

Lu Yao pursed her lips and hesitated for a few seconds before asking, "Senior Brother, are you alone? What about Tiantian?"

"Tiantian is at the hotel. I was looking for you outside."

She hesitated for a while and asked, "Then, how come Shao Yunchen was looking for me?"

Xiang Dongnan answered naturally, "He lives in the same hotel as well. We accidentally bumped into each other at the entrance, and I told him. I'm afraid something might happen to you. It's more convenient if he could help me."

After Lu Yao heard this, an indescribable feeling arose in her heart as she softly replied, "Oh."

It turned out he was doing it for humanitarian reasons.

After a while, she said calmly, "Senior Brother, you can go back first. I'm worried about Tiantian being alone in the hotel. Shao Yunchen is on his way here; I can go back on his car."

Xiang Dongnan was a little worried, "Will the two of you quarrel?"

After all, they had just gotten divorced, so it was somewhat awkward for the two of them to meet.

Lu Yao immediately laughed. "What the point of arguing after marriage? Would he leave a pregnant woman on the street?"

She understood Shao Yunchen's character. Even if he didn't have any feelings for her, he was still a person with dignity.

In fact, Xiang Dongnan also misunderstood. For three years, they have never quarreled. Shao Yunchen never once got angry at her. She just felt that tepid life was very annoying. She would occasionally cause trouble for no reason, but he never quarreled with her. At most, he's very impatient.

She had had enough of this tepid attitude, otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to get a divorce.

Xiang Dongnan was silent for a few seconds, then he said in a gentle voice, "Alright, be careful then. Tell me when you get to the hotel."

"Alright."

Lu Yao hung up and heard the engine of the car turning off in front of the convenience store.

She pulled out her cellphone, got up, and was about to go out to and take a look when a man pushed open the door and walked in. His deep gaze swept over her body. She pressed her lips together and didn't say anything. "Let's go."

It was good that they talked on the phone. Lu Yao felt quite awkward when she saw him. She didn't know whether to smile or to remain expressionless.

She turned her face away from him, picked up her backpack, and nodded.

As the car drove steadily along the road, Lu Yao sat in the back seat, leaning her head against the door. She looked tired and didn't want to talk.

The man in front seemed to be focused on driving. For some reason, he was completely focused on the woman at the back. From time to time, he would glance at the rearview mirror.

She naturally used to seat in the passenger seat in his car, but now she ran straight at the back. He didn't notice her before, but now he sensed her intention.

He still hadn't moved on from the divorce, but she was already used to her current situation and knew that she had to keep her distance from him. He wanted to say something, but he couldn't.

He slowly clenched his fist on the steering wheel. The outline on his handsome face became even more pronounced. Anger gradually gushed out from his heart.
