3 Evolution Cage

"That's Hamlord killing slimes again," Two adventurers had just reached level 10, and came back to the beginner town to find a team for a dungeon raid. "He's insane. It's like he lives to kill slimes."

"I heard he probably got a hidden quest." His friend replied with an aghast expression. "Some people say he's been recruited by the top guilds!"

"Get out of the way! Out of the way!" The two adventures got pushed to the side. A level 15 Ghost Paladin rushed towards Hamlord with a letter in his hand. "Damn it! I better have made it in time."

"9,995…" Harvard yawned and slashed a ghost slime, and cut it in half. "9996…" He kept counting until he finally reached 10,000! "I finally did it! Who are you?"

Harvard looked terrifying. He had circles under his pale eyes that made his eyes look like two saucers with black circles underneath them - even ghosts got tired. "Wha? Who the hell are you! These are my slimes! My slimes!"

"Chill dude, Chill!" The Ghost Paladin tossed Harvard a letter, "I'm just the weak messenger. Ugh, just take the letter from me okay? I'm sorry for interrupting you!"

"Hmmm, I appreciate the kindness," Harvard accepted the envelope and looked down at it to read its contents. A blue box appeared with the information, so he didn't have to try and open it with his hands. He was currently clutching a rotting basic sword in his other hand, so it made his life easier.

[Basic letter]

[From: Greed Farm Guild]

[Dear Hamlord… You have earned the respect because of many for your determination. You reputation has spread far across the lands so much so that even the scariest demon bosses have come to fear you. All slimes in the universe fear your name! Please humbly accept our request to join our guild! We will give you the spot of commander!]

"This is a joke, hahaha!" Harvard looked at his inventory. He had 2566 Slime drops he'd collected and 1,500 slime wheels. "Listen, i can't join a guild. I'm still level 3."

Harvard encountered a problem once he got passed level 2. He got no experience when he killed the slimes.

For this reason, he earned even more respect from nearby players. The only people who would do such crazy things are those who received hidden quests! Hidden quests got given to 1 / 1000 players by King Yama! Thus, many people assumed he had a hidden quest because why else would he kill slimes! They had no idea he actually had a system! Those were only given to one in ten million players!

"I want to offer you a quest as well!!"

"Me too! From the United Great Lord Guild! Take this letter!"

Harvard gulped and looked at the sea of players trying to get his attention. This had to be a dream.

"Heh, he's just a piece of garbage." A man in black clad armor walked towards Harvard and tossed a slime wheel on the floor. "Here, you want another slime wheel! Haha! He's pathetic? What's wrong with all you players! I'm the one who will be king of this planet!"

"Ignore him!"

"Harvard! Join my guild!" A beautiful brunette haired woman rushed over and hugged Harvards' arm. He was surprised. Even though she was a ghost, he could still feel her ghostly features which included her chest. "You'll be the only guy! Please! Be our leader!"

"I-I need to think!" Harvard pushed off the woman and rushed to the town. "I-I felt like I spent eons fighting slimes! I must focus on improvement for the time being!"

"We got him," The Ghost Paladin smiled and waved to Harvard. "He's probably going to turn in his quest! Haha,! He's going to be great in our guild! I'll tell leader he accepted right away!"

###

Harvard rented a small room in an inn for some privacy.

He sold 1500 slime wheels for 100 Logram, which was actually not a bad price. 10 Lograms could be used to buy a single nights stay with a meal. He walked into his bedroom and looked at the bed.

[Basic Bed]

[Durability 1 / 100]

[Many have slept on this bed.]

"Luckily, I'm not staying," Harvard walked over to the mirror. "Let's just make sure no one followed me. Those people are insane!"

Harvard had been treated like some type of celebrity because he killed so many ghost slimes! People made songs about him, and some women confessed to him because of it.

"Let's just hope this gift package is worth all the hard work."

[System Mission Complete!]

[You've gained one gift package: Open Yes / No?]

###

"Yes!" Harvard sat on the bed, and waited for his reward. "Show me what the hard work was for baby!"

[Gift package opened: You've received five experience potions (10,000 experience), 5 inventory slots, 10 skill points, and one evolution cage!]

"What the hell is an evolution cage?" Harvard opened his inventory, and hovered over it.

[Evolution Cage]

[Fuses a captured monster with you and lets you absorb its skills.]

[For example: If you put a ghost slime in the evolution cage, you'd gain its raindrop ability!]

"I'm not fighting any more goddamn slimes!"

Harvard took out an experience potion and also observed its stats. He needed 300 experience to get to the next level, so needless to say it was a good potion. The highest level players were 20, and had already started doing dungeon raids.

He had been sent to a planet called Kart95, not the best name, but he'd spent the entire time in Ghost Cape Falls. However, past Ghost Cape Falls there was three areas where adventures went to level up. Bane Root Kingdom, Grail Valley, and Monarch's Canyon.

Bane Root Kingdom was controlled by the Heartless, a type of demon that specialized in using poison type skills to defeat foes. Adventurer went to Bane Root Kingdom to become assassins and night rebels - two classes adventurers unlocked at level 10. In Bane Root Kingdom, they also had dozens of black markets where adventurers could sell stolen items from other players.

On the other hand, Grand Valley, and Monarch's Canyon were for benevolent players. In Grand Valley, you could become either a Ghost Paladin or a Spectral Tank by forming a pact with the Mirage Clan in Redemption Hall. The Mirage Clan hated the Heartless, and devoted themselves to being virtuous and only selected adventurers with pure hearts to join their ranks.

Lastly, Monarch Canyon only selected those with leadership qualities that could be unbelievably effective healers, or phantom fighters. The leaders of Monarch Canyon had contrasting values to the other two lands, and believed men could be good or evil as long as they received benefits.

Harvard sighed, and took out 4 experience potions and tossed them on the bed. They came in beakers and had a blue liquid. After drinking all four of them, his stomach rumbled, and his body began to flicker brightly like a flashing light.

[You have leveled up 15x!]

[You've reached level 18!]

[You've gained 5 skill points, and 150 attribute points!]

[You have yet to select a class! Please go to Monarch Canyon, Bane Root Kingdom, or Grand Valley in order to choose a class to level up with!]

"Wow, level 18. Only two levels away from the top players." Harvard decided to exit the hotel. He sold all his valuable items and decided to put the experience potion for sale for 10,000 Lograms on the auction house. He figured it wouldn't do him much good passed level 18, and wanted to make money to buy some armor.

"Hmm, I wonder how much it will sell for?" Harvard walked over to a stall in order to rent a carriage for quick transportation. "Anyways, time to go to Bane Root Kingdom! It's the cheapest to get there."

Harvard handed the carriage driver 15 Lograms and entered into the white interior.

The day had gotten late and the sun was starting to get replaced by the moon in the sky. The nighttime felt so wonderful, and he actually sort of enjoyed the trip.

"Hmm, what's this? The item has been bid at the auction house? Why is there a warning message?"
