1 Chapter one

In a world of swords and magic, a purple magic circle appeared in the forest of pantelan. It shone brightly painting the surrounding nature in an unnatural purple. It was a beautiful foreshadowing of the changes that this boy would bring to the world. Changes that only he could make.

Once the light had subsided and the magic circle disappeared, you could see a boy lying on the ground in between the grass. He was clothed in purple pyjamas looking up into the night sky. The purple light had woken him up from his slumber. His eyes where open but as he looked into the sky, he thought he had to be dreaming. In the sky, he could see three blue full moons lined up next to each other like three sisters.

This was weird because Zero came from a small planet named Earth and on this planet, there was only one moon. Zero furrowed his brows and then stood up. The feeling of standing up felt incredibly real too, he could feel his muscles pull and contract. This was something that never happened in his dreams. Furthermore, he could smell the clear night air and feel the chilly wind on his face.

Coming to this realisation, Zero decided to administer one more test. He moved his fingers to his forearm and pinched his skin tightly, immediately a sharp pain shot through his body. It was at this moment that he knew for sure that he was not dreaming and that he had really awoken in a different world.

Any bit of fatigue that he had felt before vanished without a trace. It was immediately replaced with excitement, fear and curiosity. Zero had always been reading about isekai novels and their adventures as a form of catharsis from the life he lead on Earth. Now he was finally free and had the chance to live the life he had always dreamed of.

Standing in the forest, Zero looked around to confirm his surroundings. It was nighttime so it was hard to see clearly. He could only make out that he was in some sort of forest that had large trees all over the place. This was a setting that he was familiar with in those isekai stories. If that was the case, he knew he had to find a safe place to sleep because the night time in any fantasy setting was not safe.

Zero looked to the left and then to the right, he wanted to decide which direction to head in. The sides looked the same, both equally surrounded by verdant vegetation and thick tall trees. Yet, the right side had more of an ominous feeling. He felt that if he went that way he would die for sure. Thus he started walking to the left.

With every step he took, his pyjama pants brushed through the dew enriched grass dampening it. Zero kept walking while observing his surrounding. His head would jolt in the direction of any sound that was not made by him. He found it unsettling to not know where he was. Especially when it was a world he knew nothing about.

Zero continued to walk slowly until he heard something that made him stop dead in his tracks. From not so far away, the howl of multiple wolves could be heard. Zero gulped heavily as his body began shivering, 'I'm just getting cold, I'm not scared or anything. Besides, they're far away and in the opposite direction from where I'm heading. Besides I'm sure there are far better-tasting things in this forest than a lowly human. Yes, I should be fine, I just need to find a cave.' Zero thought trying to reassure himself.

With his heart still racing, he took a deep breath and continued to walk forward. He continued to walk until he heard a stick break three meters away from him. Immediately, he turned around to see what it was. Looking into the darkness, Zero could see multiple silver-eyes looking at him. Underneath the eyes were a set of white razor-sharp teeth drenched in saliva. The wolves stared at him and then growled loudly, however, they did not attack.

They kept still until the biggest wolf trotted to the front. This wolf towered above the others, it was clearly the alpha judging by how the wolves made a way for it. Once the Alpha made its way to the front it growled at Zero just like the rest of them.

During this time, Zero saw the that the wolves weren't attacking and wondered did they want him to run to make the hunt more exciting or maybe was there another condition that had not been filled. His answers where very soon answered when he saw a colossal silver-coated wolf make its appearance. It's arrogant and supercilious nature was evident in the way it walked to the front of the pack.

It was when Zero saw the Alpha that he knew why they had yet to attack. That was because they had yet to receive the order to do so. The alpha looked into the sky and then howled. The pack proceeded to do the same thing then the Alpha leapt forward running to Zero.

Only the Alpha was running as it determined that she was more than enough to kill a single human. Not to mention, that this human didn't even have a shred of mana inside of him. To the Alpha, Zero was a light snack before the main hunt.

As the wolf came charging at Zero, he held his ground. He knew that running was absolutely useless. Zero stood his ground for his last moments. Although he seemed composed on the outside, inside he wasn't, 'This isn't how it's supposed to go. The main character doesn't die on the first night that he is summoned. He usually fights his way through using the abilities he has been given. But what are my abilities? I didn't receive any... I didn't get a system like most protagonists... Heck, I don't even know how to use magic... I don't have a sword or any weapon on me. Yet, if you think I am going to just lie down and die, you don't know me!'

Zero furrowed his eyebrows at the wolf and then stretched out his hand and tried to conjure magic. In most fantasy settings magic was formed through the power of the imagination. Thus he clearly pictured a fireball shooting from his hands. Despite his situation, he was focused as he imagined every aspect perfectly.

The wolf saw the air around Zero changing and sensed some danger thus it ran faster trying to kill him before he could do anything. The increase in the wolves speed was like a flash of lightning. The alpha instantly closed the gap between them then opened its mouth to bite the human's neck.

Zero still had his hand extended as he tried to conjure some form of magic. He was trying yet nothing was happening. He just stood there like a Chuunibyou trying to shoot a ki blast while the Alpha continued to run at him.

As it ran it eventually got so close that it brushed past Zero's hands as it opened its mouth preparing to bite him. However, at that moment something happened, something that Zero did not expect. As soon as his fingers touched the skin of the wolf, time froze and a screen popped in his face.

The sudden emergence of the screen and time-freezing took him by surprise. He was expected to be bitten to death by the wolf as he wasn't able to conjure a fireball. Never in his wildest dreams did he expect the current situation. Zero just stood still with his eyebrows raised. Then he looked at the table in front of him.

'It seems this is the stats of the wolf. It seems very similar to the light novels and games I have read. If that is the case then this must be the doing of my system.' Zero paused for a bit, 'System how did I access this? Was this because I touched the Silverwolf's skin?' He asked but there was no reply, 'System, did you hear me?' Zero reached out again and then again but there never was an answer, 'That's strange usually there should be an answer... Oh well, then I will just have to find out myself. Particularly this evolution thing, there is an arrow at the bottom and I'm curious as to what it will bring.'

Without deliberation, Zero clicked on the evolution button. Once he did a long double helix DNA strand twirled out of the wolf and then turned into another screen.

Zero looked at the screen and scanned through all of the wolf's details. Everything seemed right about what he expected, the only thing that took him by surprise was the arrow next to Silverwolf. When he saw it he furrowed his brows then clicked on it. He wanted to quell his curiosity as soon as possible. Once he clicked the button a list slid down.
