1 Chapter 1: Death is the beginning

"They are here, run and don't look back" said Cross, knowing what was in store for him if he were caught.

"I'm not leaving you behind"reply Kay

"I will buy us time, now go before the Peacekeepers get in"

That was the last time I saw him.

While we were looking for the exit of the tunnel, I felt something cold piercing in my heart, they managed to catch us, I thought that we would manage to escape, but I was mistaken.

I wake up in dark room, with a small mirror, attached to it a note. It seemed like it wasn't the first time I was here, I felt at home. When I read the note, I was intrigued, it was my calligraphy in it just two words "go back".

Scared I looked in the mirror. I did not show any reflex, but when I touched it, I was sucked in.

then eternal darkness...

*beep*beep* beep*

"Wake up, we will be late for the presentation"

"what?" I jump out of bed scared, Cross as looking at me and started to laugh.

"Hurry the hell up, mate. The warden told us not to be late "

I got dressed and went to the auditorium.

Its was packed with kids and teachers, I spotted Anna-Kat, and we sit next to her.

A small lady walk in to the stage, holding a ledger, started to speak:

"welcome Students, a new virus has been detected, to prevent it from spreading, DNA M. Corp it's distributing a vaccine. All students are required to take it, so please, calmly form a small line to the nurse's office.

Thank you for your time and god bless us all"

I turn to Anna-Kat and said:

"That lady was weird",

"yeah, but the warden is speaking next."

" Thank on Dr. Linda, now before we wrap this up, the school dance his going to happen after the end of the outbreak. I know who were all looking for to it, but we must think of security first. Proceed to the nurse's office, after that you are all dismissed from classes.

For some reason all of it seems familiar, like I was reliving a memory... when we get to the nurse's offices there was a small line with some military guards on the front door controlling, if everyone went there.

I forget to tell you, this is a military school for under-age criminals, its normal for military to be around, but somehow this felt different.

I got to the door and an officer only ask

"Name and Number"

"Alex V. B-3781"

"Get in" and shove me inside.

The nurse came in with the vaccine and said "this is only gonna sting for a minute", sticking the needle in the back of my neck. I felt the liquid traveling inside of me, it was like a fire burning me from inside out. I ran away, and when to my room. The sensation was only getting worse, and I black out.

When I open my eyes, Cross was with a terrified look on its face.

"What have they done to you Alex?..."

"What are you talking about ?"

"Your hands... they are glowing purple. Alex, are you felling OK?"

" I don't know" Talking seem impossible. I barely could move, for some reason it seems like there was a gigantic height on my chest, on every breath the air burn my lungs.

"Cross... get help" and I close my eyes.

Alone in an immense emptiness, I heard a voice.

"Alex, follow my voice and I will set you free"

I follow it, until a small light started to appear.

Maybe I can get out, so I ran for it. Out of nowhere, a palace appear. It was a pyramid like structure with an entry on the top. Carved on the side, pictograms of an ancient civilization depicting persons with special powers, mystical animals, and ancient monsters. From the top of the pyramid, the same voice called out

"Alex, come my child".

I stand still, how is it possible for someone knowing my name in here ? What its this place? How did I get here? Thinking to my self, while the sun was setting down. From the calm jungle I heard a girl screaming :

"GET INSIDE"

Behind her, a mist were the only thing visible were several pairs of what apeard to be eyes. It looked as if a storm was coming and the sound, remind me of yowls from wolfs

"DON'T JUST STAND THERE, RUN" As she passed by me, grabbed my arm and start to pull me up the pyramid.

The mist surrounded us, and the yowls only get louder.

"What is this place?"

"This is a projection of the house of Honat. He will explain it better to you, right now we need to go inside. The entrance is at the top"

When we reach it, she took one of the swords on her back and place it on a small crevice on the wall.

The floor below us, started to reveal a staircase.

"Let's go" she took the lead going down the staircase, its seem that no one has used it in years.

It took about 5 minutes to reach the bottom, a long hallway was right in front of the stairs. She stopped and said:

"This is as far as I will go. This is your journey, only you can pass through."

"But why I'm i here? "

"The answer to your question lies ahead" Responded while going up the stairs.

The same voice call me out

"Alex, it closes in, come see what your future wait's"

Has I went down the hallway the voice became louder and clearer, a small room displaying a coffin

has at the end of the hallway.

I step in, and a mysterious dark cloud started to come out of the coffin, taking the image of a man.

It was wearing a blue and golden robe, coming closer to me, the cloud spoke :

"Welcome to my home Alex. My name is Honat, what you just experience was a projection of a memory of mine. Your world is about to change. The transformation is already in motion. What you now know as mankind is the offspring of my ancestries. Before your record history, mankind achieved a level of genetic manipulation, far superior to the one you possess now, to the point where some men begin to gain extraordinary powers, while other stay the same. In fear of those powers, factions were created, humans found the sanguinis pura, with the objective of eradicate us. People with powers in fear of being persecuted, formed Evanty, a sanctuary for people like us. Both factions went to war, we fight because we wanted to be free but sanguinis design three bio weapons, vesper's, Clakies and Slingpaths. Animals mixed with our DNA, but the result wasn't the expected, they were unstable and broke out destroying what was left of the world. What you experienced was my final memory before I lock myself away."

" What do you mean persons with powers? What the hell was those things outside? Why am i here?"

" Every thing you could imagine, they are limitless. The things outside were Clakies. And you are here to store the balance. About 3 years ago, humans found this temple and started to gather DNA from the corpses that were scattered all around.

They started to modifying the animal DNA with Clakies DNA, and started testing on humans.

The "Vaccine" you took is an Avon DNA sequence, similar to the original but it only bonds with the user if there is already some trace of the gene."

"ALEX WAKE UP, ALEX... STAY WITH ME " Cross voice Eco throw the room

"your friend is worried about you, go. we will meet again"

He crossed his hands and, all of a sudden, there was no temple, only my room with Cross panicking

"We need to go, now..."
