48 Pint sized Paco

Zach looks at his status and sees his two lowest stats; Agility and luck. Thinking about what he needs the most and what would be more useful, he comes to the conclusion that luck is currently more significant.

Looking at the little man with a ginger beard and green clothes he asks,

.Do you have anything to make me luckier?.

...

The little man thinks for a moment before going to the trunk of his golden car, he buries his head inside and starts throwing unwanted things out behind him like a comedy sketch.

Finally he pulls out a silver horseshoe and hands it to Zach.

[Lucky horseshoe +5 luck]

The horseshoe doubles Zachs current luck, thinking back to before when his life was not going very well due to his low luck he begins to imagine how effective +5 luck would be.

.Thanks!.

"You better take care of it, it's considered valuable even to the Fae!"

.The Fae? fairies and centaurs?.

"Yeah! You familiar with them?"

.Only in story books, i didn't even think leprechauns existed.

"We're just as real as those hobbits! And i'm sure Fae exist in the human world, I've seen Dwarves walking around before."

.Are you sure that you didn't just see a midget?.

"What's a midget?"

.It's someone who is physically deformed and appears smaller than normal humans.

"Huh, are they cursed?"

.No, i think? Probably not.

Zach is still trying to come to terms with the mythical creature standing before him before he decides to get some answers.

.So, why were those people attacking you?.

He walks back and leans on his car as he speaks,

"They were bandits right? Is it uncommon for theft to happen in the human world?"

.No, but it's uncommon for a legendary mythological being to be mugged like a common person.

"I'm legendary?"

The little man seems excited by Zachs words and starts shaking.

.Not you particularly but your race, legends of your race being at the end of rainbows rewarding those who find them have been spread around.

"AH! That's probably me!"

.Wait, how do you know it's you?.

"Because i'm the only leprechaun to travel between the Fae and human world"

.For thousands of years?.

"My name is Paco Straddle and i am 4723 years old."

.Why does a rainbow follow you?.

"Oh this?"

He points up at the rainbow leading from the exhaust of the car to the sky.

.Yeah, "That".

"My carriage is powered by stardust so it's exhaust looks like this, it's quite fabulous no?"

.I guess it is, does that mean the rumour of a leprechaun at the end of a rainbow sitting on a mountain of gold giving out rewards, is just you driving a gold car?.

"I do trading so i guess i give out rewards?"

.Who do you trade with?.

"My biggest market is an island near here, they called it Ireland?"

.That explains a lot.

"Actually, i haven't caught your name yet."

.My name is Zach Miller, nice to meet you Paco. If you get a chance can you show me around the Fae?.

"I don't know, it might be hard because humans are prohibited. A lot happened in the past."

.I understand... Is there any way for me to contact you?.

"Ah yes actually!"

He pulls out a triangle shaped green crystal and places it in Zachs hand.

"Say my name to it and place it on the ground that has access to the sky and ill be there in a couple hours at most."

.Can't you just use a phone?.

"Those little boxes humans use to talk to eachother? They don't work cross dimensional, It's a shame because they seem quite convenient."

Zach thinks about whether attaching the gem to his phone would work but realises it's an idiotic idea.

.So what do you trade?.

"Just green clothes, they are surprisingly popular."

Zach almost shits his pants at Paco's response and prepares to leave.

As he's about to walk away he remembers the Deer that was helping him out earlier,

.Hey Paco, do you know that black deer from earlier?.

"Oh that, just a forest guardian."

.Forest guardian?.

"They appear in forests that have a connect to the Fae, they come in all shapes and sizes... The forests in the human world mostly have no connection to the Fae, Causing no Guardians to be present."

.Then why did that one appear?.

"The stardust that powers my Carriage in from the Fae, therefore anything in contact with it has a connection to them."

.Huh, so it will disappear when you leave?.

"I think it'll return to a normal deer."

.Fair enough, alright i should probably go before that guy brings reinforcements. You should probably leave too.

"I was just going to the toilet and they attacked me, ill continue then leave. Thanks for the assist!"

Zach waves to him as he tries to navigate his way back through the forest.

As hes approaching the highway that he had previously been at he sees the black deer walk up from the side.

It looks deeply at him with it's intimidating presence and completely white eyes.
