27 8th Grade syndrome

Zach gets back after a long walk and goes to the kitchen to find food, inside is a lasagne bake with a note on it that says "I'm gonna be out for a bit, don't eat it all yourself or you will gain the weight straight back."

.Dad....

He cuts half of it and puts it on the plate ignoring his Father words and heads to his bedroom to eat it.

While he's watching his favourite TV show and chowing down he receives a call.

Beep

.Hello?.

"Zach, it's time that you repay the favour. I have a job for you and its pretty urgent so tomorrow get ready and meet me at the train station."

Beep

.Wait what time, what are we doing!.

Zach looks at his phone annoyed at Kido's Spontaneous actions.

.I wonder what adventure hes got planned for me.

Zach reads his language books inbetween eating and watching TV, after all of this he lays his aching body on the bed.

He eventually ends the night with a french story book and falls asleep.

Early in the morning a chubby young man wearing track suit bottoms and a white T-shirt is waiting around at a train station.

.Where is he?.

He taps his feet while crossing his arms and "People watching",

A small boy with a cap covering his face approaches him, he stands next to Zach and looks forward while speaking inconspicuously.

"What are you doing?"

.Watching people.

"And?"

.Coming up with back stories for people who walk past...

Kido looks confused but continues anyway,

"Whatever, we have a job to do..."

.Can you tell me yet?.

"No no... Come with me"

He walks off with a brisk pace as Zach follows, they walk through the residential areas and towards a decrepit looking mansion with no neighbours beside it.

Kido opens the door with a key and goes inside, Zach walks in but starts coughing due to the dust.

.What is this place?.

"Secret base"

.More like a club house...

Zach retort doesn't stop Kido's advance through the mansion, they reach the area where the stairs would usually be. The stairs seem to have completed rotted and collapsed leaving no way to reach the second story.

"Lets go"

Kido says and somehow runs up the wall reaching the destination.

.What the...

"Come come."

.Alright....

Zach takes a run up but slips and face plants into the wall head first, his head breaks through the rotted wall revealing the bathroom on the other wide.

"PFFTTTT HAHAHAAHA"

He pulls his head out causing dust and wood chips to fly out everywhere,

.Shut up, it's my first try.

Instead of wall running like Kido, Zach get a stable grip on a plank above him and uses his explosive strength to throw himself up to where Kido is.

"Wew"

.Yeah yeah, carry on.

They continue into the building and eventually reach what seems to be the old master bedroom, it's got a metal double door instead of the traditional wood one.

Kido approaches the iron door and puts a few keys in the numerous holes,

The door unlocks and opens revealing what can only be called a robotics lab, Zach follows Kido inside while observing the unending tools, computers and "weapons" scattered around the place.

.What is all this stuff?.

"No worry."

He shuts the door behind them and sits down while signalling Zach to do the same.

"So you want to know the job now?"

.Yeah.

"You are not against breaking and entering, theft and vandalism?"

.As long as we have a good reason it's fine.

Kido sighs and adjusts the way hes sitting as he tells Zach the mission,

"The mission is to break into Principal Gilani's office and take his computers hard drive."

.Wait didn't you tell me that Principal Gilani is a small fry?.

"Yes but that was before i knew he kidnapped kids and sold them!"

.Wait what?.

"The goal is to secure incriminating evidence against him and send it to the Police."

.Wait wait, wait you still haven't told me why and what crimes he has committed...

"Fine, the data that we are trying to secure are records that he is supposedly keeping marking down potential students for human trafficking. Things like vulnerability, relationship with their families, gender and health are all taken into account when he decides to target a particular student."

.What! Hes responsible for the recent kidnapping?.

"Not completely but he is a big factor that allows them to do it safely."

.Fucking monsters!.

Zach slams his clenched fist down on the chair and grits his teeth,

.When are we doing this?.

"Tonight, i will be with you while we break in. Due to the nature of the Principals business his office is highly secured and the security is even more so."

Kido stands and rummages around trying to find something, he pulls what looks like an IPad and hands it to Zach.

"While we are waiting for night to fall, i will show you how to use this so you can keep watch while i pick the locks."

Zach tries to turn it on but fails, Kido presses a sequence of buttons and the screen lights up.

Zach looks at Kido strangely and points to the name,

.Errr Mr. MasterAssassin23 what now?.

Kido turns around and ignores Zach while he is being made fun of,

"Just log in."

Kido goes through the ways the Pad can be used while ignoring the account name,

"Is that all fine for you?"

.Yeah, i might be a little slow but i think i can manage.

"Ok ok, here put this on."

He throws a bag at Zach and inside is what looks to be a Ninja outfit,

.You want me to wear this?.

"Look we match!"

Kido shows his set while smiling like a kid just before Christmas.

.Fine., Zach walks to the bathroom to get change but stops at the door and turns around.

.Why did you pick me to do this?.

Kido seems surprised at the question but answers confidently,

"Your the only one who i have leverage over while hating them as much as me."

Zach nods,

.Good talk.

He turns back around to get changed.
