8 The Bus - Surviving Fujimi High III

Before they left the building, Ryo thought some "plans" to make sure everyone made it out alive. First of all was his own role. He would stay as long as possible to buy time for the rest. He wasn't extremely worried about surviving since, should he have to, he could easily leave everyone behind and jump into the bus. Then he had Saeko and Kouta.

Saeko would be more useful on the groun, killing undead bitches with him. Kouta, on the other hand, should try to reach the bus as fast as possible. That way, he would be able to provide cover for Saeko and him. Wasn't he afraid of Kouta hitting him with a nail? No. Ryo had complete trust in Kouta's aim.

Once his plan was decided, he went on to relay the orders to everyone. Besides Saeko and him everyone was to run straight for the bus with Shizuka and Kouta in the front. Rei would be on the back to protect them in case anything unexpected happened. There was only one thing Ryo had to solve before they left. Kouta's lack of self-confidence. He didn't want to deal with Kouta having trouble because he didn't trust himself. To solve that issue, he stole a phrase from one of the best Animes he had ever seen.

"Kouta, I know you struggle with your self-confidence" Ryo said straightforwardly, without minding place or words. Kouta's shoulders slumped as soon as he heard those words. After all, it was the truth. But Ryo's words weren't over there. "So I ask you not to trust in yourself, but in me. Trust in the me that trusts in you!"

It was corny as fuck, but those words got their job done. Kouta's spirits raised to a 120%, making everyone trust him more. Toshimi Niki in particular, seemed to get closer to him as soon as they began talking. Surprisingly, the girl was a gun enthusiast but had never had the chance to deal with an actual weapon.

"Ok, now before we leave, you need something to defend yourselves with in case it is needed" Ryo said with a clearly terminant tone. There was no arguing that point. As such, he did the simplest of things possible. He went into a room and began breaking chairs and tables aparts. He used the desk's meta frame in the same manner he had used the tubes, just that this ones were too hard to flatten. As such, they only served as blunt weapons. Though he was more than sure those worked perfectly against a zombie's head.

With the immediate problems tended to, it was time to execute the plan.

With the System's encouragement, Ryo had his morale higher than ever. "At the count of three, Saeko and I will come out. Ten seconds later, you all rush towards the closest bus"

As he said those words, he began counting from one. The tension could be felt in the air. Saeko's focus was out of the charts and Ryo's complete demeanor had changed entirely. When they looked at him, they didn't see the kind and funny guy that saved them. They saw the man that had slaughtered more than fourty zombies in the hallways. Unconsciously, Saeko shifted her feet to be slightly closer to him.

"One... two... three!" as the last number left his mouth, he kicked the door open, pushing back any undead behind it. Once again dual wielding the improvised spears, since he had given Rei a desk's leg, he dashed towards the closest group of undead. Each one of his movements left two undead on the floor to never get up again. When he had killed 8, he heard Saeko talk to him.

"Hashimoto-kun, do you want to see who can kill more of them?" she asked him while slashed three heads in one movement with her bokken, a wide smile adorning her face. Ryo smirked and answered back. "Though I doubt I can kill more than you, because of efficiency, I sure as hell am in"

The ten second passed by in a flash -though that was to be expected. But when the group left the building, they couldn't help but gasp at the sight. A path of bodies had been created and, on each sidde of the path, one could see Saeko and Ryo killing undeads in the most gruesome Hack n' Slash style possible. Kouta, who had experience in the world of videogames, couldn't help but compare the scene with something that only happened in ARPGs like Diablo or Path of Exile.

Saeko was slashing enemies in quick succession, her movement elegant and decisive. Each time her arms moved or her body turned, one undead fell to the floor lifelessly. If she hadn't missed anyone, she had already killed 32.

Ryo, on the other hand, was more tactical about it, since he lacked the weapon and the finesse to execute them like Saeko did. As such, he retook the strategy of first making them fall and then piercing their heads. Because he was physically more apt than Saeko -god blessed the System- he was able to kill them just as fast but with less energy spent. He had already killed 35.

While that happened, Kouta and Shizuka were guiding the group straight towards the Bus that had no undead around it, courtesy of Saeko and Ryo. It only took them a few seconds to reach it and a couple more to finally open the door. Shizuka, being the airheaded woman she was, couldn't properly stick the key into the keyhole, so Kouta took it and opened it for her.

As soon as they saw the rest get into the bus, Saeko and Ryo turned around and dashed for the door. Both of them were huffing, exhausted after the inhuman tasked they had just performed. Ryo was the first one to reach the door, but stood there waiting for Saeko. When she was about to reach it, he threw one of his improvised spears at the undead. The weapon went through at least 4, adding to his count.

"Cheater" said Saeko shortly as she passed by him. She knew he had won thanks to that throw, but couldn't do anything about it because in love and war, everything is fair. When he saw a screen in front of his face, Ryo answered with a big smile. "But I still won"

They were about to leave the school grounds when they heard a sudden scream. When they looked at where it came from, they saw a group of people running towards the bus. Everyone recognized them, but some of them did so better than the rest. Rei, Kouta and Ryo in particular had a stronger impression of them, but they were by no means good impressions.

Still, Ryo decided to wait for them, much to Rei's protest. He shushed her.

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing... they won't last much with us. Not if I'm here" he said ressuringly. Rei remembered how he had killed zombies as if he was weeding the garden. She immediately felt safer and relaxed. His presence made her feel like nothing bad could happen.

Shido and his entourage quickly entered the bus. He tried to act friendly, but when he realized Rei, Kouta and Ryo weren't fond of his presence, decided to head towards the back of the bus with his group. Right before they got in though, Ryo had clearly seen how a kid tripped and fell right by Shido's side. When the kid asked for Shido's help, the only thing he got was a kick straight to the head.

Ryo would make sure to make Shido suffer... that was something he vowed on his surname. Shizuka, having a weird moment of seriousness, convinced herself that the undead were no longer people and began driving over them. Once they were on the road, Shido began his act.

---------------------------------------

Now in canon Shido is the teacher of Class 3A, but I'll make it so its class 3B instead, since I made Hiratsuka the teacher of that class. Also! I just noticed now when re-reading the chapters and writing the Status one that there are two Shizukas! So I will simply say Hiratsuka for her and the bubbly blonde will be Shizuka.

I hope you guys are prepared for Shido's bashing, because the R-18 tag isn't there only for sexual content.
