35 A Day Without The Girls

"Are you really sure you want to do this?" Ryo asked the girls once he had tied them each to a chair. The only answer he got were many nods.

"*sigh*... Fine. Down they go" he said as he made each one of them drink a small amount of the liquid virus.

He gave a short hug to each of them and left the room, locking it with key. He stopped thinking about it, not wanting to have a mental image of the girls suffering.

'Ok, off to do things'

As soon as he left the mansion, Ryo found himself doing his regular training once again. Kouta and the others were finishing their morning training, so Ryo decided to stay and watch the aiming lessons Kouta was giving afterwards. He was still amazed by how the fatty forgot how tired he was as soon as he grabbed a gun.

'Weird people' he thought when he saw the military style lesson. Right after that, Ryo began watching them go over each part that composed a gun and how it was supposed to be held.

He was surprised at how easily he could understand what he was seeing in spite of being in a handstand. He couldn't even feel the usual dizziness that comes with the increased flow of blood into your head. When Kouta's lesson was over, he decided to get to know his future "soldier".

"Hey guys. I think you should also learn a bit of CQC" he said while he approached the group still barechested. The group was composed of twenty people. Thirteen were adult in their mid thirties and seven were young adults in their early twenties.

Ryo quickly analyzed the people in front of him. The younger ones had more potential to learn, since their bodies were younger and overeall healthier. The older ones had more strength, but lacked the young body required for most high-level techniques. As such, he quickly decided what he would try and teach each of them.

"Ok, each of you, come at me as if you want to hit me in the face. I will teach you a few moves that you can do"

When the first person went at him, Ryo realized how easy it felt to move his muscles and how more focused his brain was. He wouldn't be surprised if he could do breakdance when he totally couldn't before. Not because he lacked strength, but because he couldn't properly focus on each individual movement. Now he could.

"Your stance is too wide, try to make it more compact or you won't be able to put strenght in your legs" Ryo explained as he dropped the first person to the floor with a soft push. He was afraid of using too much strength, but when he realized he could control his muscled perfectly, he simply went with it. "Next"

Like that, each person went, one after the other, to try and hit Ryo. Each one got advice tailored specifically for them. They were looking at Ryo weirdly, since they couldn't really believe that he got advice for everyone only by seeing them move once.

"Try what I just told you amongst yourselves, just pick a pair" Ryo said, not caring at all about their disbelief. "Since the numbers are odd you go with me, Kouta"

When they tried to move in the way Ryo adviced them, they realized that their movements were smoother and they felt more comfortable doing them. Even the old people realized they were saving energy and their bones weren't being put in uncomfortable angles. They all looked at Ryo in a new light. In spite of being so young, he was already capable of teaching others!

"Good!" Ryo exclaimed while wiping the sweat off his face. "Now you just have to keep practicing until the movements become second nature to you"

Once everyone's training was over, he went inside the mansion, grabbed his weapon and headed towards the Main Gate. There, he met the Miyamoto marriage.

"Ryo-kun! You going to kill some zombies?" Tadashi asked with a voice full of energy. Ever since meeting his wife and daughter, the man looked like he had been given a new youth. Kiriko looked around and, noticing something weird, decided to ask. "The girls not coming?"

Ryo just looked at them with a wry smile, remembering that the girls weren't available at the moment.

"Nah, they wanted to talk about something, so I left them to their devices" he explained shortly and confidently. Ryo didn't like lying, but his natural confidence made it relatively easy. Luckily, they bought it. "Oh, ok then. We'll hold the door until you're back"

Leaving through the main door, Ryo though about which direction he should pick. Since either direction was the same, he simply did what he thought smartest.

"Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Catch a tiger by the toe. If he hollers, let him go. Eeny, meeny, miny, moe."

Luckily, he was sent in the opposite direction from where he and the girls had gone the previous day. He began walking slowly, not having any actual hurry. He lit a cigarette and, as he smoked, he thought of many things, but none at the same time.

When he finally found a group of zombies, he dashed at them without holding back his strength. With one swift movement, his dash turned into a spinning slash from his trusted Fauchard, which blurred a bit because of the strength behind the swipe. In just that one movement, Ryo had killed ten zombies.

'Hm... it became even easier... if only things coud keep going like this...'

His day had gone on like that for a while already, with him doing nothing but clearing the area of zombies and freeing the houses closest to the Estate so they were habitable later on. Ryo didn't want to have a huge group under him, but he knew that with time people woud gather under his protection. He also knew that, at some point, they would have to turn to a different place for resources, which literally made him rach his brains on how to keep everything stable.

That was when he realized how lucky he was to have Saya, Hiratsuka and Yuriko by his side, since the three women were very smart in their own rights. They helped him decide on the matters he couldn't, simply because he lacked the knowledge to take a decision. Then there was Kouta, who was very weird, but loyal and a good friend to have around. With his knowledge on guns he could have a group of trained people working like the military under him. Those people woud be the elite in the future and, when the place grew, they would be important people capable of helping him maintain order.

'Then again, I always have to be the strongest' he thought when he realized not everything was flowers and sweetness. Some people would covet his position, so he had to remain alert and always on top of the food chain.

Ryo knew how people could turn twisted and dangerous at the first taste of power. He had seen it in his previous life, both in fiction and reality. It was because of this that he could trust people but didn't want to leave Saya and Yuriko alone. Kouta on the other hand, wouldn't be in as much danger of an attack. Besides, when Ryo was over with the fatty's training, he wouldn't be able to call him fatty ever again.

There were other people he had met he knew could be trusted. Matsushima Cho and the Miyamoto couple, for example, were some of those people. They were of the few adults who didn't look down on him at first just because he was a kid, thought that could've been because he met both after killing many zombies in front of them.

"To think that in such a short time, I would meet so many people" Ryo said while he took a puff out of his cig. Blowing out the smoke, he climbed up to the roof of a house. Since the sun was still high in the sky, he could clearly see the clouds drifting away. "Can you see me? Mom, dad, Yukari... I'm living as best as I can..."

"I'm also trying to do good to others... but it is quite hard to do that in this... twisted world" he sincerely said to the skies. Ryo wore his heart on his sleeves, as dangerously painful as it was. "I also killed people... and I'll probably kill more..."

"But I'm happy... I've found a new family... and it's a huge one"

"I miss you guys... but I'm not alone anymore" he said as he jumped down from the roof and headed back to the settlement.

Behind him, all that was left was a scene of absolute carnage. A hundred, perhaps two, bodies lacerated on the streets, painting the pavement, the walls of houses and even the trees and vegetation around the area. This was the kind of thing the current Ryo could do.

Before he could leave the area though, he saw someone staring at him as if he was some sort of weird creature.

"What the fuck are you?!"

So... Who is it?

A shorty one. Didn't really want to make this chapter too long. Its just so ya'll can have a little read about Ryo's state of mind and what he really thinks and feels.
