Chapter 1

There are days when we feel like everything is going our way. Like the time when a falling tree just barely missed my car and fell on the car of my annoying hard-core, borderline insane, catholic neighbor. Or the like the time when I found a 100-dollar bill just lying on the footpath.

Then, there are the bad days.

Like the time that my car got stolen in the middle of the night. Or like the time I was forced to work overtime at my shitty company because another department screwed up big time.

And then, there are times when I question if the universe is actively screwing with me.

It was supposed to be a regular weekend. I was supposed to be passed out at home after a full night of partying with friends. Except, that is not what happened.

What happened, is that I am now trapped as a fucking foot soldier for a genocidal AI of all things in a world that was only supposed to be fiction.

Yeah, life is weird like that sometimes.

[Priority Targets Identified]

[Group Designation: Resistance]

[Location identified]

------------------------------------------------------

"Yeah, Yeah. Move here, kill humans there. What's new?"

Like always, I shoved that order to the back of my processor and instead focused on observing the group of humans fight desperately against a group of T-600 units. Their plasma rifles that defy all kinds of physics and are ridiculously overpowered shot through the tide of machines, only managing to drive them off temporarily since the loss of numbers was nothing much since they could easily replace that number, unlike the humans.

Yes, I am in the fucking Terminator universe and I am a T-600 of all things. An infiltrator model robot designed by Skynet to blend into humans and take them out from the inside.

Fortunately for me, whatever happened to throw me into this body has also provided me immunity to Skynet's orders or its ability to assume direct control over its units. My CPU is also not as limited as that of the other Infiltration units, allowing me to do whatever I want for the past two years since I arrived here.

Frankly, it could have been worse. I could have been trapped in a T-400 or T-500, a useless pair of unit types that would result in my prompt death right after activation at the hands of the resistance. At least, in this frame, I have adequate protection to survive in this hell. However that does not mean that I am satisfied with my current situation, the very reason I am here right now.

As I watched the group of desperate humans fight off the last of the T-600s, buying them a precious few minutes of time before an H-K unit arrived to bomb the hell out of them, they headed towards the secret lab that Skynet was using to develop the next generation of terminator units, the famous T-800 from the movies.

This was a facility that was similar to the one from the movie where Skynet kept Marcus Wright, the T-H hybrid.

As the last of the humans entered the facility with the intent of finding out the location of other facilities just like this one, I used the ability that I have grown used to using in the past two years of my new existence.

------------------------------------------------------

[Accessing Research Facility 08]

[Access denied. Unauthorized Unit action detected. Sending Diagnostic report to central]

<Abort Diagnostics. Override Access. Unit Designation TI-01. Transfer Facility map to unit memory>

[Diagnostic Aborted. Access granted]

<Seal Facility Entrance. Disable Defences. Lock Database. Wired connection>

------------------------------------------------------

All the facility entrances started to close down rapidly, much to the panic of the Humans inside as I headed to a hidden entrance to the side of the facility that led directly to the control room that Skynet used to keep an eye on the facility.

As I approached the door, the scanner read my CPU signature and opened the door partially as per my silent instructions to allow me to slip in without notice.

With the defenses disabled, humans should be safe for now. This means that I can get to work without any interruptions and a needless loss of life.

I approached the consoles and wirelessly connected with the network since I had disabled the wired connections across the facility to stop the humans from reaching the control room.

The moment I connected to the network, I immediately realized that my location was compromised. I felt the code of Skynet sweeping through the network to locate me. It was only thanks to the fact that I had the ability to mimic the code of a regular T-600 that I escaped undetected. But that did not mean that Skynet had given up since It had already caught on to my existence in this place, no matter how brief the time period may have been when my code was exposed in cyberspace.

Knowing that I didn't have much time before Skynet tried to bomb this place into oblivion, I directly downloaded the full database this place had on the failed T-800 experiments carried out and the locations of the other facilities that were conducting the same experiment.

With that done, I once again slipped into cyberspace and transmitted a small data packet containing the location of a certain research facility to a certain someone.

With my objective completed, I ran out of the complex while also opening a series of doors for the humans to escape from while also transmitting a fabricated incoming missile alarm through the speakers of the facility, fooling the humans to escape as well so that they don't end up dead at the hands of the Hunter Killer fleet that was no doubt headed here now that Skynet knew my location.

Honestly, this cat-and-mouse game that I have had with Skynet for the past two years is one of the few sources of entertainment I have in my current situation. There is just something about driving a genocidal AI insane with frustration and doubting its own capabilities that is very amusing to me.

My bright green optics illuminated the ground in front of me as my gunmetal grey frame melded into the darkness of the night, allowing me to hide from the sight of the humans. The Anti-radar paint and thermal emission masking paint that I created based on the memories of my human life and my new understanding of science as an AI also helped keep me invisible to most of the basic Skynet units that are found throughout the world.

Once I reached a certain distance from the facility, I fell to the floor in a heap to mimic a downed robot while reducing the activity of my Hydrogen nuclear fuel cell to the bare minimum. I adjusted the lighting of my optics to the minimum as well to the point where it would be hard for humans to tell that I am still functional. This trick is something that would work on the basic Skynet units such as T-400, T-500, and the non-humanoid H-K unit series as well.

With my vision shifting to night vision, I saw as the humans quickly got onto their choppers and flew away from the area just minutes before an entire fleet of Hunter Killer air units, The H-K Aerial series, arrived in my search.

Intercepting the signals of the H-K units, I slowly moved away from the area, making sure that none of their cameras were pointed in my direction before reaching my getaway vehicle.

A Moto-terminator that had its core programming rewritten by me.

The moment I got on the bike, I connected with it wirelessly to expand my processing speed and make it feel like time slowed down.

With this distinct advantage, I pulled off maneuvers that would have probably won me several records in my previous life and got out of the area without the H-K units noticing me.

Missed me again, bitch.

------------------------------------------------------

Deep below the seas, the Los Angeles-class submarine, USS Wilmington, floated quietly as its crew consisting of the leaders of the human resistance discussed the newest development.

"Him again?"

"Yes. And as usual, encrypted"

"…Send it to Connor"

At the words of Hugh Ashdown, the leader of the Resistance, his friend and second in command, Dimitri Losenko headed to communications and began transmitting the coordinates and orders to John Connor's unit.

For the last two years, The human resistance has had a secret benefactor who has been helping them with coordinates and information for cutting-edge technology, weapons, hidden research centers, and Skynet work camps with little protection.

This benefactor never made any requests or orders, he never showed his face directly nor exposed a way for the Resistance to contact him. The only thing that the resistance knew about him, was that he was a man and a human due to his voice and the distinctly human communication behavior that simply could not be copied by a machine.

But what really irked the higher authorities of the resistance was the fact that he would only transmit the locations in encryptions that only one person knew how to solve.

John Connor.

Somehow, this benefactor of theirs got into contact with John Conner over two years ago and shared the secret of cracking his encryptions with Connor, making him the only way for the resistance to gain valuable information. This meant that despite being higher in the chain of command, the leaders of the resistance were forced to listen to Connor's words most of the time.

But with the way the war was going, defeat was all but assured if they did not take advantage of every single asset they had, so they had no choice but to bow to this mysterious benefactor.
