Silver Packaging is Expensive :(

Bai Jingfei was plucking leaves yet again. This time however, she knew what she was plucking and what its uses were. Also this had become so routine that it was no longer tiring for her.

Bai Jingfei lifted her basket and stared up at the wide and open sky and watched as a bird stationed itself right above her on the tree she was taking shelter under.

She felt something drop onto her and prayed for a few seconds.

Hopefully it wasn't what she thought it was. If it was poop, Bai Jingfei would revolt and never come out of the house again. Maybe she would even cry a little in between rants and screaming. Bai Jingfei was going to cry.

Bai Jingfei didn't dare reach for her head to check what it was. Her hand was trembling as she finally decided to reach out and hopefully figure out that exactly dropped onto her.

She reached out shivering, and when she finally reached it, she felt something cold. Bai Jingfei quickly retracted her hand with a little screech and the object fell on to the ground.

It definitely wasn't poop, that was for sure.

She looked at the silver case lying on the floor. It was miniscule and incredibly light but Bai Jingfei could almost instantly tell what it was.

It was one of those letter case thingies.

You see, before Bai Jingfei decided to become a cave creature scientist, she had wanted to become a ninja. She had wanted to buy herself a pink katana and a straw hat and parade around the countryside extorting people.

That wasn't really most people's idea of what a ninja was supposed to be but Bai Jingfei had found her dream.

Her, under the setting sun, with her katana in hand, committing injustices.

This might seem like criminal activity and that's exactly what it was. Bai Jingfei had been indirectly dreaming of being a criminal for the longest time one can imagine.

She reached for the tiny case on the floor and picked it up.

After some fiddling she was still unable to figure out how to open the darn case. It was like a bullet. A very light bullet.

There was no visible opening for it so Bai Jingfei struggled for a while.

"Forget it, I'll smash this thing open!" said Bai Jingfei out loud with glowing eyes that could only be described as joyful. It had been very long since she had last had the honor of breaking something.

She looked around for the bird that had dropped it but the tree was so covered in birds that she really couldn't tell which one had dropped it's message.

If she had looked a little more closely she would've seen that one of the birds had a red ribbon tied around its foot. But cave creatures never look closer. One look is more than enough.

Bai Jingfei wasn't the slightest bit guilty about picking up a letter that most definitely didn't belong to her. She stuffed it into her pocket and skipped back with her basket.

As she put the leaves where they belonged, she saw heavenly doctor Ming peeking at her from inside the room.

'What does teacher want?'

She walked into the room heavenly doctor Ming was in and decided to clear any questions he could have and maybe figure out what the saffron was worth in this world.

She sat down next to heavenly doctor Ming and peered at the recipe he was writing.

"Teacher? What's wrong?" she said, deciding to break the ice.

Heavenly doctor Ming fumbled a little, leavening an ink blotch on his otherwise clean sheet of paper. Heavenly doctor Ming first thought of denying anything being wrong at all but realized that would not help him at all.

He turned to Bai Jingfei, his forehead all scrunched up.

"FeiFei- What did Ling show you that day?"

Heavenly doctor Ming was obviously worried about his student being poached over by heavenly doctor Ling. He had an inferiority complex when it came to heavenly doctor Ling anyway, and Bai Jingfei even possibly considering switching over didn't help with said complex.

His feelings were slightly hurt either way.

He had grown quite fond of Bai Jingfei even though he complained to the high heavens about how clumsy she was.

Bai Jingfei giggled a little thinking of what heavenly doctor Ling had shown her. There were many precious medicinal herbs in his garden but none of that was worth anything if Bai Jingfei didn't recognize them.

The only thing she had recognized was the gigantic saffron plant and thus, that was what she was going to tell heavenly doctor Ming about.

"He had a gigantic saffron plant, teacher," said Bai Jingfei.

Heavenly doctor Ming looked slightly shocked before composing himself. He pulled out a book of plant diagrams and pointed to the gigantic saffron plant drawing on it.

"Was it this one FeiFei?" he said with a grin.

Bai Jingfei nodded and stared at the intricate drawing on the book that was seemingly falling apart. It definitely looked like it was worth quite a bit from heavenly doctor Ming's reaction.

"I needed that saffron for my Jasmine elixir!" continued heavenly doctor Ming still smiling, "Jasmine elixir sells for quite a bit… And if I sell it to some noble young miss, she'd likely pay three or four times the already exorbitant price!"

Bai Jingfei knew if heavenly doctor Ming was calling it exorbitant, it was definitely something extremely exorbitant to the point where normal people would cry.

She nodded again, not exactly understanding where this conversation was going. Heavenly doctor Ming was rubbing his hands together and staring at the open book on the table.

He slowly shut the book and stashed it away carefully.

Then turning to Bai Jingfei with a glint in his eyes that Bai Jingfei often had, he leaned in to whisper into her ears. His evil plan was complete and he was ready.

"Do you want to go 'borrow' that saffron plant?"
