65 One Must Enjoy Life and Break Into Houses

Bai Jingfei decided she was going to make cement.

It was rather easy to make, and set pretty quickly. If she managed to make the recipe for it, it would need less than an hour to set and the skilled jianghu workers would be able to put up a wall pretty quickly.

"I need to make cement. Is there an alchemy room somewhere here?" she asked the old man.

"There was one until a few days ago. Zihao destroyed it, if I'm not wrong." he whispered, scratching his head.

That's when it struck Bai Jingfei. She had nowhere to make the cement since she had personally blown the old shed up. She was going to have to figure out someplace else to work. And fast. She was running out of time.

"Is there one anywhere nearby? I'm in a hurry you see. Pretty much anything will do. I just need some simple filtration and distillation devices."

The old man pulled out an old, brown map from under a book and slowly looked around.

"Do you have enough time to go to the capital?" he asked. He already knew the answer though. Judging from Bai Jingfei's urgency, she barely had enough time to travel to the outskirts of the jianghu territory, and luckily for her, he had located someone there.

"No. I barely have a few hours. Travel to the capital will take at least-"

"Right on the edges of the jianghu territory, you should be able to find the residence of heavenly doctor Tang. He might be willing to help you."

Bai Jingfei felt optimistic but had to ask a few questions before she set out to the edge of the territory. "And he'll have filtration devices?"

"He works with aromatherapy," said the old man with a hearty laugh, "if he doesn't have filtration devices I wonder who exactly would have them."

Bai Jingfei looked around and took a second to breathe, staring out of the window behind the old man. She took a look at the light blue sky, a sign of early day time, and then got back to work. She hadn't got much time left.

"Thank you so much!" she yelled at the old man as she picked up the paper, pen and book and sprinted out of the library.

She stopped right outside and handed a maid a small bag of money. It jingled in her hand and Bai Jingfei felt intense pity parting with the bag. She would make sure to get a refund from her husband later on.

Well, since his money was hers after marriage, she thought for a second before deciding to rob Song Zihao instead. Easy money, no guilt.

Song Zihao, who was sitting in his room, sneezed.

"Here. I need as much bauxite and limestone you can buy with that amount. Have it delivered to heavenly doctor Tang's residence within an hour." she counted on her fingers for a second before she nodded to confirm that was all she needed.

The maid was speechless and tried to hand the money back, "Ma'am there's no way-"

"Shush" groaned Bai Jingfei, "Get it done within the hour. It's really not that hard."

She then ran back to the carriage and plonked herself down on the plush seats. She leaned back, as she now felt as if she was finally in control of her situation.

"Head to heavenly doctor Tang's residence." she said to the driver.

The driver went north, past a few open fields of what seemed like wheat or a similar crop. Bai Jingfei stared outside, determined to stop for a picnic in those bright green plots. She already had a carpet ready.

But she also had a deadline here, so it would have to be after the construction.

That would be finished today if her schedule worked out fine and she didn't end up drowning half the country.

Well as long as her house wasn't drowned she didn't have too big a problem with it.

Within twenty minutes she had reached a palace, larger than the central palace in which the emperor lived. It was grand and imposing and stuck out like a sore thumb among the fields and goats.

'What a crappy place to live.' thought Bai Jingfei as if she hadn't lived in a cave for pretty much all her life.

She put the 'tiny' in 'sanctimony'.

Bai Jingfei hopped out of her carriage and in little baby steps, waddled over to the entrance of the palace. Her legs had fallen asleep after the journey but she had to hurry either way.

At the rather gaudy wooden door, stood a well dressed and rather poised butler.

"Miss, if you're looking for heavenly doctor Tang, he's not here." said the butler politely as he bowed forward apologetically. He took out a piece of paper from his pocket and handed her a pen politely.

"If you have something to say to him, please write it here and leave your name and residence."

Bai Jingfei gave him the most polite smile that a rat stuck in a rattrap could produce.

"When will he be back?" asked Bai Jingfei.

"In a day at earliest." apologized the butler.

"That's perfect." said Bai Jingfei, filling out the sheet of paper and then handing it over to the butler with a smile.

<Name: royal princess of wang

Residence: royal palace of wang>

Then she casually walked to the shed across the palace and picked up an axe lying on the ground. With a screech she ran forward, swinging it in front of her like a warrior.

She drove it into the gaudy wooden door with all the force her little body would allow. The door cracked and slowly fell apart as she pulled out the axe and struck the door again.

The butler watched spellbound, as Bai Jingfei destroyed the door, threw the axe aside and then walked into the house casually as if she hadn't just broken in.

He stared for a few seconds before making and breaking eye contact with Bai Jingfei.

"You're welcome." she cackled.
