One Must Always Leave A Gift After Ruining Someone's Stuff

Within seconds of the butler returning with sacks full of mud, Bai Jingfei had snatched them and started her work.

It wasn't a very big deal for her to scatter mud all around, but not to the butler. The butler knew that as long as the damage was confined to the door he could hide what had happened. Heavenly doctor Tang was unlikely to even notice that his door was missing.

But if a scratch appeared on his glassware and distillation devices there was only one thing that this whole drama would end with.

Death.

For the butler of course. He was the scapegoat, the one with no power. The one who was left with a responsibility over the house. That responsibility was concentrated in the room Bai Jingfei was now crushing limestone in.

"Go get me some clay." whispered Bai Jingfei as she swung her axe at the limestone.

The powder and little rocks flew in every direction and Bai Jingfei couldn't help but feel some sort of joy. She was quite suited for axes. Very convenient and very fun. If they were a bit lighter she would definitely be able to handle it better, but its weight gave her some comfort.

The butler shivered but listened.

While a resonant frequency from Bai Jingfei's wave of destruction could destroy the devices, her axe would definitely do a faster job.

While he was gone, Bai Jingfei crushed all her rocks and dumped it into the cauldron. The shiny, silver cauldron being used for making rock paste wasn't exactly a joyous occasion but as a certified spendthrift, Bai Jingfei couldn't care less.

To her it was just a silver cauldron. One worth ten minutes of scamming at best.

There were at least a few hundred dented old ones made of the same material back on Jade mountain. Heavenly doctor Ming would buy them in bulk.

How was she supposed to know that a cauldron of that quality was considered a treasure when heavenly doctor Ming would destroy a few of those on a daily basis?

To her it was just common junk. Shiny, common junk.

As the butler dragged his clay into the room he felt tears flowing from his eyes. The room was a mess. Nothing was broken yet but the entire lab looked like a murder scene.

Well, murder of a giant mud creature.

It looked like the set for a movie called, "Murder of the Golem thingie". An absolute mess. Soil was sticking to the walls of the room, little rocks splattered all around, masses of mud that could easily be mistaken for organs…

At least on first glance it appeared that nothing was broken.

He quietly dragged the lump of clay in and made his presence known.

"Miss your clay-" he whimpered.

"Dump it in the cauldron," said Bai Jingfei. She didn't bother turning or making eye contact with the butler and kept stirring the cauldron with a silver ladle of some sort. A matching pair with the expensive cauldron.

The butler felt tears come along looking at his master's delicate silverware being used to stir mud and create a mess but there was nothing he could do.

The butler quietly acquiesced. He didn't really have any other choice to begin with and the situation was getting more and more dire.

As he had stumbled to the yard to get some clay he had realized that if he were to delay Bai Jingfei for long enough, he could directly present the criminal to his master.

But Bai Jingfei was in a hurry. She had to produce at least tens of hundreds of sacks of cement in an hour or two at most. She had no intention of waiting for someone's master to come home and beat her up.

She kept stirring, unloading into a sack, stirring and unloading till she had sacks of cement piled to the roof. Enough cement to probably build the dam out of the bags themselves.

"Drag them out." she ordered the butler. Soon the sacks were being loaded into the carriage. There definitely wasn't enough space for both her and the sacks so she sent the carriage off with the first batch and she would tag along in the second or third batch.

She gave the driver the sheet of paper explaining the construction method.

"Hand it over to Song Yongrui and then take the rest of the cement back in batches. I will stay here till the last batch."

"Understood ma'am."

Bai Jingfei now had nothing else to do. As long as Song Yongrui followed through, they had definitely finished their task. She decided to stroll back to the alchemy room.

The butler was still hesitant. Even though she was no longer swinging her axe, she was still a major risk to the supplies.

"Don't worry, I'm going to leave your master a gift." she said with what looked like an evil grin.

Bai Jingfei was actually feeling bad about the mess she had left behind and thus decided to leave heavenly doctor Tang a gift. An actual gift. Not the broken door.

She wouldn't have liked it if someone else touched her work place so she understood that her mess was going to make him angry. She could clean the place but Bai Jingfei wasn't going to. She knew just what to give him.

She had noticed a styrax tree near the entrance.

Since heavenly doctor Tang was into aromatherapy he would definitely appreciate some benzoin. She had been studying the explosiveness and flammability of benzoin fumes so she was quite proficient in manufacturing benzoin.

Bai Jingfei was proficient in making money and explosives. Everything else was secondary.

Explosives were so much fun after all.

Everything's better with a boom. Or two.

She soon wrapped up her manufacturing and dumped the benzoin into a few small bottles. Her carriage had returned and she had finished loading all the cement onto it.

"I'm off then. Don't forget to give your master my gift!" she said, strolling into her carriage.
