His chin rested on her head as they looked at the setting sun outside the window. He had moved her to stand in front of him, her back pressed against his chest. His arms were wrapped around her, warming her, to protect her in this little haven he temporarily shared with her.

"We cannot change the past, Moyu." He murmured to her.

"I know. But our past could define our future. It's not easy to overlook." The empress retorted.

"I know you are afraid, Moyu. But I assure you, you aren't alone in this. Do you know? Fear has two meanings. Forget everything and run or face everything and rise. The choice is yours, but whatever your decision is, I'll respect it."

"Don't say it like that." Tang Moyu muttered.

"Like what?" He raised a brow. "It's the truth, isn't it? I was the one who was responsible for you losing everything."
