16 The unbreakable opponent
Noahs POV
„Okay, boys! As I was saying, don't underestimate this opponent. They might be a new team, but they destroyed their opponent in the first round!"
„Alright guys!
Let's win another game, so the demon moves on!"
„Yeah!"
Annes POV
„Let's begin with the second round! It's the match
7th district demons vs 8th district falcons!"
When the demons name was mentioned, the crowd went crazy.
„On the demons side: Number 1
Team Captain and Wing Spiker:
Oliver!"
The crowd cheered for him as he raised his fist into the air while stepping on the court.
„Number 6
Libero: Elijah!"
The crowd clapped nervously as the small boy went on the court, showing them his tongue.
„Number 11
Middle Blocker
Logan!"
The massive black boy went on the court without doing anything, but the crowd still shouted out his name.
„Number 3
Middle Blocker
Liam!"
The guy ran on the court while putting both of his arms into the air. I could see how Nikis body language changed with the appearance of that boy.
„Number 4
Setter
Dexter!"
The boy went on the court and gave everyone a high five.
„And Number 5
The teams ace, the true demon on this team, on the wing spiker position
Noah!"
The crowd went crazy as their best player entered the court.
The commentator also introduced our team and the other team served first.
„Oh no, it's him!"
Noah went to the service line and tossed the ball up after the referee whistled. The players in the back prepared to take the ball.
„Bring i..."
With a deafening sound the ball touched the ground. Our team was left in shock and disbelief, as our receivers didn't even notice that the serve was already done for a few moments.

„W-what was t-that?"
„The first serve and the first ace! Noah slams it in!"
The other team gave their ace a high five.
„(That's not good! They've got the lead and momentum on their side! I can just hope, that...)"
„Shake it of, we'll get the next one!"
I sighed relieved.
„(You can really count on Simon!)"
Noah served again.
Felix POV
„(His form is showing that he's going to aim for the left!)"
I positioned myself and this time, I was able to see the balls way.
„(Got it!)"
The ball touched my arms. I just couldn't believe the power I had to deal with. The serve was so strong that it jumped off my arms and flew behind me.
„(Damm, this one is gone, nobody could get th...)"
I saw Timo chasing after it, but unfortunately, he wasn't even able to touch it.
„Dammit!"
„Good try though! (That's extremely bad! If we can't get this one, we're completely out of the game!)"
Noah went to the service line again. He tossed it up.
„(Come on, come on, come on, come on!)"
It went to my position. I was able to get a hand under it, but again my arms felt like they were going to fall off.

I put all my strength together and received the serve.
„Yes!"
„Nice receive!"
Jack tossed the ball to Niki, who attended to spike the ball, but he realized too late what was coming.
„Watch out!"
It was too late. His spike was denied by the massive middle blocker who appeared in front of him.
„Goddammit!"
Annes POV
I was really worried at this point.
„(Damm! If we can't score now, they'll take every single trace of momentum we've left!)"
The next serve was received by Felix, who seemed to slowly get used to it. Everyone waited for Jacks toss, but he jumped and spiked it himself.
„Yes! Good j...."
„Nope!"
Their libero received that ball like it was the most common thing in the world.
„Shake it off, let's block this one!"
„Shit, this setter is so unpredictable! Where will he toss to?"
I realized too late what he was planning.
„Watch out! He's doing it himself!"
But it was too late, there was no one to cover that setter dumb.
Simons POV
„(This isn't good! At this rate, we'll loose against them without getting one point!)"
We just couldn't get a point against them. Every time we fought them, they fought back ten times stronger.
„It's the first set with a 24 point lead for the demons! Are they able to take the first set 25:0?"
Noah was still serving and just didn't look tired after all these serves. He threw the ball up and jumped.
„(Wait a second! Is he going to...?)"
I positioned myself and was able to clearly take it.
„Nice receive!"
Nikis POV
I was going to spike it. I jumped up and two blockers appeared in front of me. Liam was in front of me.
„(Just wait! I'm going to break through!)"
Suddenly, I felt an enormous pressure just by looking at his arms.
„(What is this? I can't break through, impossible!)"
I tried a line shot shooting the ball next to his arms. The ball finally touched the ground.

„Yes!"
„Finally!"
„Nice shot! Let's get the nex...."
The referee whistled.
„Out, point for the blue team."
I was paralyzed. They took the first set without even really trying.
„First set ends 25:0!"
All of us went to the bench, absolutely shocked.
„Shit, I'm sorry!"
„Don't worry!"
„The hell is wrong with this kid? Every time when I think I've got it, I'm too late!"
„Okay guys, I'm not gonna lie, this is bad. We didn't stand a chance against them! We need to find a strategy against them, otherwise we're done!"
Olivers POV
„Good Job guys! That was no problem at all!"
„Enough problem for us to raise our level at the end."
„Come on Noah, don't be so pessimistic all the time!"
„These guys are noobs!"
The guys on the bench started to join us too.
„Hey guys, how about sending the first years out there? They won't have problems with these..."
He was interrupted by a loud bang, which was caused by Noah who hit his fist on the bench he was sitting on.
„You really think it's that easy, right? Do you? Of course you do. I mean you're on the BENCH of the 5th in the league!"
„Wait, I didn't want to..."
Noah stood up and grabbed his shirt.
„WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? SITTING ON THE BENCH ALL THE TIME BUT JUDGING THE OTHER TEAM!"
„Hey, hey calm down!"
„Captain, help us!"
I thought about what Noah said.
„Problem enough for us to raise our level? I didn't even recognize that."
„What are you talking about?"
A smile entered my face as I looked on the opponents side.
„I don't think they're done yet. There is something about this team."
