1 All Gone

Piled under a few thin and coarse blankets, Seraph stretched as she thought about about everything she would be doing today.She stared at the ceiling for a bit with a million thoughts shooting through her head as she tried not let the cold get to her.

Finally getting the motivation to start her day, she slowly rose from the bed and headed for the bathroom.When she entered the cramped room, she was faced with a tall, beautiful woman with dark brown hair and turquoise blue eyes that looked back her.Quickly retracting her eyes from the mirror, she finished getting ready and yelled for her sister.

"Erica!"Waiting for a response, and confused when she got none, she started looking around the house while shouting, "Erica!?".

Seraph reached the front door and pushed it open, expecting to see the usual scene of the small but bustling fishing village.But when she looked now, the streets were empty and silent.

Bewildered, she walked a little ways down the road.Before she could get very far, she was met with the sight of her neighbor, an old lady, dead on the sidewalk.With her eyes wide, she slowly stared to back away.But she suddenly bumped into something behind her, she quickly turned around to find that she had backed into the cold body of worker slumped over his stall.

Terrified, Seraph clamped her hands over her mouth trying to suppress her screams.After the shock left her, Seraph was filled with worry and she ran back to her house.She burst through her door, and started calling out,

"Erica!"

"Erica!"

Breathless, she reached her sister's door, opened it and ran in, not caring about the usual politeness she generally had.

"Erica!"Panicking, she reached her sister's bedside and threw the covers away.

When she saw what was under the covers she fell onto the ground in shock.

But before the grief could set in, pain burst through her head along with the sound of something heavy hitting her head.

Then all she saw was blackness.
