1 Prologue

Years and years ago, the greedy and unsatisfied humans on the planet of Azure, conducted an experiment. They wanted power. Attempting to conduct forbidden power into themselves, their weak constitution made them unable to withstand the violent and chaotic power, resulting in their death.

Without anything to harness and contain the strange magic, it erupted, spreading through the planet and causing strange mutations to the lifeforms on Azure.

The herbivores evolved first, gaining better camouflage, armor, and some even gained special abilities like poison, water magic, and more, making it harder for the carnivorous animals to find food.

The carnivorous animals evolved soon after, gaining sharper teeth and claws, as well as the rare special abilities.

They were called the Silver Innota.

But, what of the human adventurers? Being extremely weak and vulnerable in front of the evolved animals, they brought out the forbidden weapons, killing countless Silver Innota.

The herbivores used their camouflage and hid, surviving most of the bloodbath. The carnivores had no way of hiding, choosing to fight.

A long war commenced, but the Silver Innota had almost no way of resisting the forbidden weapons. As they were driven to the brink of extinction, the survivors fled and hid in the polluted wasteland. The Silver Innota that couldn't adapt to the harsh environment were left behind, while the strong lived on, carrying a strong grudge that was never resolved.

This war was called Vengence.

In the polluted wasteland, the abundant energy caused the Silver Innota to evolve once more, gaining more defined powers and abilities. The thought of revenge was greatly wanted, but their numbers were much too small.

One group of Silver Innota stumbled upon the forbidden forest while fleeing from a large group of adventurers. The deadly plants had absorbed the energy from the forbidden magic, allowing them to thrive.

The evolved constitution of the Silver Innota allowed them to withstand the freezing temperatures and deadly plants, while every adventurer without significant ice resistance would instantly freeze the moment they entered a 10-meter radius of the forest.

Hundreds of years passed, but the Silver Innota never returned to the vast and abundant numbers they had before. Nor did their strong grudge against adventurers pass.

Some stopped evolving, their powers returning to before the war. They were no longer Silver Innota. They were prey to both Silver Innota and adventurers, however, some were strong and able to hold their ground against the Silver Innota and adventurers, but these were rare as their bloodline soon fizzled out, becoming normal once more.

The Silver Innota were low in numbers, however, most species of Silver Innota could live up to a hundred years, with an average lifespan of 73. A Silver Innota was considered full-grown by the age of 22 and gained an ability at 10.

Years later, in the forbidden forest, a heavily injured white wolf was panting heavily, dragging a large piece of prey with multiple other wolves chasing after her.

She paused, dropping the prey and turning around. Snarling, she spoke. "This is my prey. Get lost."

The leading wolf stopped as well, grinning as he said, "It's such a large piece of prey, surely you wouldn't miss it if we took a bit...we're hungry..."

The white wolf looked at the well-fed figures of the 5 wolves. She growled, "No. If you can steal prey from other Silver Innota then surely you can steal from adventurers as well, but if you don't leave this instant you will die."

"Oh, we're so scared."

As they spoke, a poisonous fog encompassed them, radiating from the same white wolf in front of them.

"Leave. I do not wish to kill you. The Silver Innota are weak as they are, and fighting with each other will only harm us."

Without another word, the wolves ran off.

As they left, the white wolf sighed. If they had stayed she would have been on the losing end. She specialized in poison resistance, leaving her actual poison weak. The other wolves had left quickly, thinking she had been holding back. After all, she was one of the special ability users.

Shaking her head, she picked up the prey, looking around before ducking her head and dragging it through a hidden tunnel.

The tunnel grew smaller and smaller, barely letting the white wolf and her prey through. Suddenly, the tunnel widened, leading into a large and spacious cave. 3 wolf pups could be seen bouncing around happily, running over to the white wolf.

"Mother!"

"Hello, Spirit. Artic. Swift." The white wolf nodded her head to each of her pups.

She then proceeded to separate the large prey into chunks, tossing them to the pups while leaving a considerate amount for herself. This would be the best meal they had in months.

The pups bounced around in excitement, devouring the abundant food. Only then did the white wolf stop and tend to her wounds.

The pups quickly finished eating and retreated into a corner to nap. The white wolf stood up, shaking out her fur, and started eating. The wounds had stopped bleeding and were beginning to heal.

She quickly scarfed down the meat, padding over to her pups and laying down beside them, using her thick pelt to shield them from the freezing wind.
