1 Typical high school

Students poured out of their classes like water, rushing into the canteen as the bell for lunch rang. The popular kids, the jocks, the head cheer leader and her minions all sat in the cafeteria as they gistted and laughed, waiting for their lunch to be brought to them by the juniors, While the nards, emos and normal kids bought their food from the canteen and sat at their usual places to eat, typical high school.

Everyone walked in groups, talking and laughing with their friends except for the most unfortunate kid in the school, Karen. Being the last to come out of class, Karen walked alone like the loner she was.

It was just lunch but Karen felt like she had carried a huge load on her back all day, she felt exhausted as heck. She dragged herself to her locker and dumped her books inside. Being the neat freak she was, she decided to tidy her locker a bit.

"Hey Karen". A feminine voice bounces in the empty hall way, with fake excitement lacing in it. Karen didn't have to guess twice, it was Natalie, the second bitch of the school. Karen ignored Natalie and continued to arrange her locker, as she was already used to all the bulling.

"Are you deaf". Another voice says grabbing Karen's shoulder and swirling her around a little too harshly, almost making Karen fall, almost.

"What's wrong with you Ella, you touched her". Natalie growls at her minion pointing at Karen.

"s..sorry, I will go and wash my hands". Ella says rushing to the bathroom.

"And you, here is my mathematics assignment. I want it done before Monday and you are to give it back to me on Monday". Said Natalie sighing and shoving her note into Karen's hands. She turned and walked away, her heels making a click sound as she walked. Her minions tailed her, not before throwing Karen dirty looks.

Karen didn't even notice the crowed that had appeared to watch the movie marathon. That's how it is around here, everyone seeks for entertainment in their boring lives. Karen puts Natalie's book inside her locker and headed to the canteen to buy her food, silently praying there won't be lots of people there. Even being a senior never helped Karen's situation, she was bullied almost daily since grade 6. Karen had already given up, she only hopes to finish high school and get into collage.

After buying her lunch, Karen sat at the far end corner in the cafeteria and ate her food in silence like always. She didn't know why, but she's missing her best friend a lot today. Karen only had one friend all her life, at least the only one she can remember. Her best friend, Catherine, died in a car accident along with her Mom, on their way to watch Karen's show. It's been four years, but up till date Karen never got the courage to play a piano again. Karen now lives with her Dad, an architect who Karen looks up to. Karen was a straight A student, planning and striving to be a successful architect like her Dad.

Catherine was the only person that stood up for her, making herself Tina's biggest enemy. Tina, the head cheer leader and the professional bitch of the school (at least that's how Karen describes her), disliked Karen at first sight and never failed to make her life a living hell. Tina being popular and rich made the rest of the school hate Karen as well, and those who didn't hate her were afraid to befriend her. Karen was bullied even before Tina came along, but it wasn't that serious.

Tina's Dad is the vice-president of KR architects, a global award winning design, architecture and engineering company where Karen's Dad also worked. Mr Anthony Harrison is the CEO and president of the firm who is one of the highest contributors of funds to the school, giving Tina more power than needed, frightening even the teachers.

Throwing her remaining food into the trash, Karen rushed to her locker to pick her books, realizing how the time has flew. She hates being late for class, especially not to Miss Rosalia's class. The teacher doesn't like Karen for some unknown reasons.

The warning bell rang as Karen closed her locker.

Now Karen was fully running, hopping to get to class before Miss Rosly, which she prefers being called.

"Sorry". Karen says as she bummed into someone on her way to the class. Thankfully she got to the class before Miss and sat at her usual spot, the far end corner. No one sits there so it's always preserved for her.

Soon Miss Rosly, a slim and tall woman majestically walked into the class and started calling the attendance slip. She called each name as the bearer reply with a yes Miss, and then she looks up to throw a glance at the person. Karen terribly hated this procedure. She hates attention and prefer sitting in her dark corner unnoticed.

"Karen Jaxtyn". Miss Rosly calls out, her eyes traveling to the corner of the class.

"Present Miss". Karen manages to say after clearing the lump in her throat. She looked down knowing just well what was coming for her.

"Excuse me". Someone says at the door, saving Karen from receiving glares from Miss and stares from her classmates. She could feel Tina's eyes digging holes in her body even though her eyes were casted down. Everyone's attention, including Karen's turned to the bashful girl standing in front of the class.

She handed a piece of paper to Miss Rosalia and said something to her, to which Miss nodded.

"Can you introduce yourself to your classmates". Miss asks the new girl nicely making karen wonder if there is something wrong with her for someone to dislike her without a reason. The girl only whole shakes her head in a negative making Miss sigh. You could figure out how much the woman hates her job just by looking at her, she looks miserable.

"Go and take a sit". Miss says to the girl and continued calling the attendance slip.

Karen diverted her attention from the class, opening her book and getting her pens ready.

"Hi, can I seat here". A voice intrigued Karen's distracted mind.
