1 Chapter 1 : Life of Bud and the First Appearance of the Gate.

Once had been a bright and cheerful child now turned into a serene killer. Bud now lives his life in secret as one of the world's most dangerous mercenaries; moving from place to place in order to cast off his captors.

The life of Bud wasn't an easy one.

(Flashbacks) (1992)

From a young age, he had witnessed the death of his parents from the hands of the known 'Nazi Hunters'. With no one to take care of the young mutt, Uncle Rook, or also known as code Red, took him in.

Albeit reluctant at first, the 11 year old Bud decided to follow his uncle, an attempt avoid a rough childhood in the orphanage. To his dismay, it had been one of his worst decisions he could made.

Blindsided with the idea of revenge, Bud undertook the training Rook offered. The training wasn't what Bud had ever anticipated, it wasn't close to the martial arts movies that he had watched.

First, he was tasked to get blindfolded and get beaten until he passes out whereas blindfold where to remain until bedtime. Rook never intended for Bud to see the sun again.

Although it seems cruel at first, it was only considered as a light workout as compared to the following week.

Bud had to put up with repeated electrocution and in some cases, poisoning.

The pain was immense for Bud however, he had to put up with it.

The training alternates between beating, electrocution, poisoning, and body consitioning.

Years passed by and the psychological trauma from Rook rendered it impossible for Bud to hold a grudge against him. And even if he did, the difference of strength between them was an obvious foretelling to Bud to stay put.

Years passed by and only through sheer will power and determination that Bud was able to deter himself from killing himself.

This had went on for straight 4 years and upon Bud's 15th birthday, Rook finally shown him what sunlight looks like.

It was supposed to be a significant day however, Bud wasn't enthused with it as the ray of the sun only brought pain within his eyes, forcing him to close it off again.

Rook, with a smile on his face, then forced Bud to open his eyes in order to effectively start to train him in combats.

Bud, yet again, effectively endured it.

Weight training, combat practice, and combat testing. This was the first time Bud had experienced this. He wasn't beaten, electrocuted, nor was he fed poison.

Instead, it was delicious meal, reasonable training, and a considerable amount of rest.

It was weird. It was all weird. Bud knows there has to be a catch and with that in the back of his mind, Bud trodden with care and silence.

Three years later, upon Bud's 18th birthday, everything was still the same.

Just like any normal day, Bud picked up a training suit that weighs half his weight and prepared to jog around the mansion.

After finishing his daily routine, he immediately went towards the mansion where his Master resides. However, instead of hearing the cheerful welcoming of the maid servants, it was awfully serene.

Bud walks inside the mansion with careful consideration, thinking up all the possible scenarios that could happen.

An enemy behind the door, maybe an assassin behind the walls. He already took the possibility of a sniper marking him so Bud made sure to stay close to as much cover as possible.

Thinking positively, Bud imagined it to be a surprise party just like the same scenario as last year.

As Bud walks deeper into the mansion, a sudden waft smell of blood ran through his nostrils. Thanks to his dedicated training, he was able to determine the location of the scent.

With careful steps, Bud silently ran towards the direction of the smell. The stench grew stronger each steps he takes, stopping when he reaches the final corridor of the room.

Knowing the possibility of an assault inside the room, Bud prepared a flashbang grenade in his torso. Steering clear away from the door, he threw the flashbang inside the door.

As the sound of pop goes off, he immediately ran inside the room, immediately looking for a cover.

To his dismay, the room was empty. No, it wasnt.

With an obvious glance, a massive black hole, almost three times Bud's size, can be seen.

The strong stench of blood near this hole forebodes Bud of danger.

However, like as if he was under the influence of a love potion, Bud was entranced to go inside.

Even after his years of training, his suffering, he couldn't resist the temptation. As he got closer, he blacked out.

Upon regaining his consciousness, he couldn't see anything. However, he was trained to not rely on his eyesight so he started to focus wholly into his other senses.

The sound of water dripping into the distance, the rocky texture within my butt cheeks, the earthy smell within the place.

And with great risk, Bud decides to whistle a high pitch sound, giving him an idea of the dimension of the place through the echo.

With his best guess, Bud determined the place to be underneath the ground, or to be exact, a cavern.

"Fucking hell you scared me. You brat." A rough voice was heard just behind Bud, immediately bringing him to a fighting position. However, as soon as he made a huge motion, his hands and feet felt attracted to each other, like a magnet.

Bud was, yet again, put down.

"Master?" Bud asked with clear confusion,

"Yes it's me. You fucking dimwit." Rook said mockingly, "I'm pretty sure you already know what the fuck we are in. I don't know how these bastards did it but whenever you do some big shit, your limbs magnetize to each other." Rook continued with pure annoyance in his voice.

"I've felt it first hand, it is quite an odd sensation if I were to describe it, Master." Bud continued, replying normally.

Rook ignored Bud's weird comment and continued briefing him about the situation at hand.

"Relaying what you said, we were captured by a group of Green muscle heads and one robed green guy. The clothes guy said something in weird 'creature-like' voice and now we can't make big actions and blinded?" Bud tried to put Rook's rough language into his own.

"Ye'r right. For now, let's stick and come up with solutions along the way." Rook ordered however, it was immediately cancelled as a loud noise boomed around them.

The vision and movement impairment was lifted.

With great haste, both soldiers took a stance and started to survey the surroundings.

They were positioned in the middle of the massive room near a fountain-looking statue. Above the fountain was a big stalactite with a small droplet at it's tip. Below them was a solid silver quartz grasping the whole floor of their surrounding, stopping at around half the room, where only normal stone resides.

Throughout each corner of the room, there is a platform in which a green looking muscle man is seated. There are about 7 of them, one is which more massive than the other.

With an eerie and disgruntled voice, Rook spoke out.

"Who are you guys and what do you want." Rook said with steel like nerves.

There were no response. Rook thought they didn't hear anything so he intended to repeat the same thing.

With a smirk, he prepared to shout however, just before he was about to utter a sound within his vocal cords, he was cleanly cut vertically in the middle

The death of Rook was so sudden, it took Bud a couple moment to register what had happened.

The eyes of all Green muscle heads are now staring at Bud with complete focus.
