5 The Plant

Luckily The wound was healed almost instantly because of my new found power, but the pain was still there. I turned around to look at my aggressor when a large wave swept me off my feet and took me downstream. I struggled to keep my head above the water. I don't know how to swim, but my instincts kick in and I began to float. The river led to a more open body of water, allowing the current to slow. I tried my best to swim to the bank but I just flailed my limbs until I made it to the shallow part. The moist sand was oddly a soothing feeling, but I have to stay alert. The hounds are probably already in the way. The distant sound of engines and splashing put me on edge. I ran into the forest and didn't stop, no matter what was in my way. The engines roared closer and faded as the blew past. I kept running, this silver lining may be a fallacy. I picked up the pace and a searing pain burned through my thigh, I fell.
