58 Disassembling Plasma Weapons

He thought he would encounter familiar names from Caelum, but almost none seemed known to him, except one that was extremely famous a long time ago. This led him to reflect on the abundance of hidden talents in the human race who, despite their contributions, never reached fame throughout history.

In the Holocraft, the hologram of a woman in a lab coat, with a tan complexion, dark hair, hazel eyes, and a slender figure, was projected.

Beside her, a panel displayed the following information:

[Name: Dr. Elena Martinez

Gender: Female

Death: Year 2135 at the age of 45 due to a traffic accident in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Talent: Geneticist specialized in genetic manipulation and biotechnology.

Achievements:

- Discovery of the cure for a rare genetic disease.

- Nobel Prize in Medicine for outstanding contribution to the field of genetics.

- Development of revolutionary genetic therapies.

- Publication of influential research in genetics and biotechnology.

- Establishment of a research institute dedicated to genetics.

- Outstanding mentoring of young scientists in the field of genetics and biotechnology.]

Kraynnor raised an eyebrow as he read the highlighted achievements of Dr. Elena Martinez's life. He was genuinely surprised by the scope and depth of her contributions.

Though, deep down, he reflected on how he himself could have easily achieved such recognitions if he had desired to stand out.

Nevertheless, he had always preferred to keep a low profile.

Although a shadow of regret invaded him when he realized that the new High Human created from Dr. Martinez would not retain the memories of its predecessor, Kraynnor maintained his unwavering determination. His goal was not to replicate the individual experiences of these outstanding humans but rather to capture their ability to absorb and master fields of knowledge at a superhuman speed.

He understood that, to forge a civilization capable of supporting him in his war against the Astrylites, he needed exceptional individuals, ready to immerse themselves in the heat of battle as quickly as possible!

Kraynnor knew that accelerating adaptation to the situation might seem somewhat cruel, but given the circumstances, it was most optimal.

"By the way, why did you choose someone with expertise in genetic manipulation and biotechnology out of billions of humans? Is it an insinuation that I am not competent enough?" he asked mockingly.

[Of course not! Your skills and talent are incomparable and have been scarce for many centuries. However, you cannot bear the entire burden alone. Even though you have my assistance, I lack the inherent creativity of living beings, and this woman meets all the criteria to ease your burden. But if you are not satisfied, I will look for other options.]

Upon concluding, Cognitron X-12 seemed nervous, as if doubting whether it had made the right decision.

Kraynnor noticed the anxiety in his friend and gave a slight smile. He acknowledged that Cognitron X-12 lacked experience; although its programming was advanced, it still had much to learn about the intricacies of interacting with other intelligent beings.

"It's not necessary. She is quite competent to assist me in the future, but there are still nine more people who might be a better option," said Kraynnor as he glanced toward the next profile. It was a young-looking man with Asian features.

In the hologram, a man in military uniform, fair complexion, black hair, and penetrating eyes, like a lurking beast, was displayed.

[Name: Liu Wei

Gender: Male

Death: Year 2082 at the age of 32 due to an enemy missile explosion during a covert operation in a battlefield in the Himalayan mountain range.

Talent: Military strategist with exceptional skills on the battlefield.

Achievements:

- Planning and execution of decisive military operations that changed the course of major conflicts.

- Awarded the Medal of Honor for combat heroism.

- Development of revolutionary strategies that maximized the effectiveness of the armed forces.

- Recognized authority in military strategy internationally.

- Principal advisor in national security.]

Kraynnor's blue pupils gleamed as he read the achievements of this man. He was the individual he needed most in his current situation. However, he recognized that it would be impossible to have someone like that in a short period of time. First, he would need to learn the basics, then gradually advance to more complex concepts, train his body, and much more...

For now, he could only rely on himself and Cognitron X-12.

However, he was confident that the day would come when he would have a group of High Humans specialized in various fields, ready to confront and annihilate that repulsive invading race!

Finally, his gaze rested on the other eight. There was a notable hacker who, a century ago, was revered as a digital god, capable of challenging the confines of the binary world with unmatched skills. His feats were legendary: from penetrating the most advanced security systems of world powers to accessing classified information that altered the course of history.

He developed revolutionary algorithms that allowed him to bypass the most sophisticated surveillance systems on the planet. He created an underground network of hackers whose operations destabilized corrupt governments and empowered the oppressed, among other notable achievements.

It was somewhat sad that a legend of his caliber was afflicted by a strange illness that ultimately claimed his life at 26.

Another notable figure was someone who became so famous that even after almost two centuries since his death, people still considered him a global hero. He was talking about that genius strategist who once led humanity in the fight against the artificial intelligences that rebelled in the year 2164.

It was evident that humanity would preserve his genetic information for study over the years. His name was Maximilian Vanguard and, unlike others who died prematurely, he lived to be 98 years old.

Among the other humans were expert pilots, mathematical geniuses, and experts in other fields who could be of great utility. However, he had already selected the three he wanted. He would leave the rest for when he had more material, that is, when he killed more Astrylites.

"I've decided, for these three High Humans, use the genetic information of these three," he selected three individuals from his Holocraft, to which Cognitron X-12 responded instantly.

[I'll let you know when the process is beginning. For now, I'll take care of the first order you gave me.]

With a satisfied expression, Kraynnor left the capsule room and headed to his workshop, with a relaxed smile on his face.

He observed with satisfaction his ship and the androids moving back and forth, busy with various tasks such as maintenance, system monitoring, and cleaning, among other minor chores. He recognized the invaluable contribution of these automatons; without them, keeping the ship running would be an impossible task.

After traversing several rooms, some empty and others housing factories and laboratories, he reached a spacious workshop filled with technology of all kinds. Many of these advancements had been created by him over the centuries. Previously, these devices had been stored in the submarine's warehouse, but now they were arranged in a way that made it easy to access them.

On a large metal table, several pieces were arranged with which he eagerly awaited to experiment: from alien armors to plasma weapons.

Among them lay the small white devices.

In a corner of the workshop, a raised platform held half of a spaceship, showing severe damage in all its corners.

Kraynnor initially focused on the goals he sought to achieve by analyzing alien technology. He recognized several disadvantages in his ability to face the Astrylites, the first being his firepower. He needed to develop more efficient ways to inflict damage. Although the plasma weapons he possessed were powerful, they were not enough. He remembered the confrontation in the mining tower, where he shot several times at the sergeant's armor, causing only minor damage. The mutant creatures, on the other hand, were the ones who truly inflicted the most significant damage.

To address this need, Kraynnor set out to acquire comprehensive knowledge of plasma manipulation and focus on developing more advanced technologies.

He acknowledged the urgency of enhancing his weapons to make them considerably more powerful!

Next on the list was improving the materials used in his technologies. He realized that titanium, tungsten, and other materials that were considered top-tier in his time were becoming obsolete. He observed the alien armors, which showed a surprising ability to resist plasma shots.

This contrasted with the conventional metals he used, which melted at the slightest contact with plasma...

"It's time to get back to the routine," he murmured as he stretched his arms and settled into a padded chair that provided instant comfort. First, he checked the available weapons: he had a plasma rifle that, somehow, Cognitron X-12 had managed to acquire when the battle in Caelum had just begun.

There was a weapon resembling a pistol and another that seemed to be a missile launcher.

In total, he had three plasma weapons. Then, he checked the armors: he had a huge armor that only had some external damage from the fight in the mining tower, along with two thinner armors.

One of them was in the possession of the last captured alien, while the other was worn by the one inside the giant armor. Unfortunately, the armor of the first captured Astrylite was shattered when his ship was destroyed in half; in fact, he was sure that without that armor, his fate would have been inevitably death.

Then came the part he truly detested: dismantling alien technology.

They were assembled in such an intricate way that conventional methods were useless. Undoubtedly, with specialized tools for this type of plasma weapons, disassembly would be instant, but he lacked such resources. Therefore, he had to resort to his own methods to achieve it.

The technology used in joining the exterior parts demanded a careful and meticulous approach to separate them.

To disassemble the exterior of the weapon, Kraynnor began by identifying the joining points between the different sections of the casing. Using improvised tools, he proceeded to apply a precise combination of pressure and angular manipulation at the key junction points.

There were a series of micro-magnetic locks and molecular locking devices. However, Kraynnor was not intimidated by the complexity.

With a skill that made him appear as an expert surgeon, each movement was calculated to bypass the defenses of the weapon's exterior and unlock the securing mechanisms.

Sigh...

Finally, with a sigh of relief and satisfaction, after fifteen minutes, Kraynnor managed to separate the last external connections of the weapon. The outer casing slid smoothly, revealing the intricate design of the interior.

"Interesting..."

The interior of the plasma weapon was a symphony of advanced technology, with superconductive circuits winding around glowing energy crystals. Microsensors integrated into each component responded to the slightest environmental change, adapting the weapon to the changing conditions of the battlefield.

[Ding!]

"Huh?" Kraynnor did not expect to receive a system notification after obtaining the knowledge points by completing the ship. He looked at the panel in front of him curiously.

[You have eliminated two beings of the Astrylite race. Eighty experience points are awarded to you. Your reputation with hostile and neutral factions has decreased by 1.5%, while the peaceful faction has increased by 1.5%.]

He instantly understood what it was about. He had set aside the matter of the factions, and upon observing the percentage he had in the peaceful faction, he noticed that he was less than halfway to reaching 10%. Currently, he was at 5.5%. The first 2% he had achieved by destroying the Astrylite ships, the next 2% by facing the one who cut his head with his saber, and the remaining 0.5% by indirectly destroying the ship in the mining tower.
