2 Time of turmoil and You

A baby's loud annoying scream as he cry for milk woke me up. Then, boom! boom! Bomb noises scared us to death. War engulf the entire nation! Relatives and neighbors flee to survive. Run, run, my aunt shouted! Don't know where to go, me, my family and some random people we just met along the way found ourselves wondering in the woods. No food, no water and tired bodies slowing us all down. Then, a small group of men heavily armed surrounded us. They interrogated all the men in our group and ask us to not leave until they say so. They gave us food and water to help. Relieved, in my mind I was hoping that these people are really here to save us. A few hours passed and another group of men came and one man caught my attention. It felt that I somehow knew him. His voice is in command and his demeanor is respectful. Not long have I known that he really is the leader of the group! Wow, this is great! Weeks passed and we felt safe until ... Run! The men shouted!

Caught off guard, a large number of uniformed heavily armed men is after us. Run! The group of men with us guided us and I saw their determination to save us! Bam! Boom! I saw wrath as we run, dock and hide. One by one, men, woman, child fall to their death! Blood splashing all over us! All you can hear are screams and cries! I held my baby brother tight as I run. Suddenly, someone grabbed my hand tightly and drag me with my brother to a safe area then he ordered the group to hide and stay silent. We saw uniformed armed men passed our location trying their best to find us! But why, I thought! Confused on why the army is after us when they should be the once whom people rely on! I don't get it! Why are they killing innocent people! Why?

Whiles at my whims talking to myself, a voice interrupted me and asked if I am alright? Lifting my head, I saw the leader of the group! He's face full of blood! With a low voice, he asked me to hold on to him no matter what! With a trembling hand, I held his and felt a little safe. Darkness came and all the army men are long gone. The leader instructed all of his men to assist everyone and head north. As we continuously walk, the trail becomes steeped and slippery. The leader asked to holt! I felt my body shivered of fear. I thought we were found and will die. But to my surprise, I saw little nipa houses surround the area. waahhh ... atlast, a place to rest!

"Watch your step", the voice beside me said. I didn't realize that the leader is still holding my hand tightly to protect me and my brother. I completely felt very secured at that moment! My hero!
