11 Chapter 8 : Way out, Settle Temporarily.

The heaven and earth qi around Zhang Feng converged as he cultivated. After a while, large amounts of qi got sucked into his body. Boom! The bottleneck broke as the aura around Zhang Feng showed 3rd Refining Qi Realm. It had been 3 weeks since he was searching for his way out. While searching for his way out, Zhang Feng also cultivated from the energy remaining in the Bead. { Note that I may call the bead a bead, sphere or by its name 'Origin of Chaos'} " Looking at the energy remaining inside the bead, I can easily cultivate up to the 6th Qi Refining realm. Moreover, I need much more energy than ordinary cultivators as my Dantian is too big and my Meridians are quite wide. Not to mention that I practice Chaos God Scripture. It is already so domineering. The rate of spiritual energy absorption is too high. I will need to pay attention to be a little low key in the future to not attract attention." muttered Zhang Feng. Zhang Feng got up and dusted his clothes. He broke through 3 small realms in 3 weeks. If this speed was known outside, it won't be hard to imagine how much shock it would spread. Zhang Feng was only 10 years of age. However, his mindset was of an expert. His deep, starry eyes revealed wisdom. "I am already 2 years late than other practitioners. I need to hurry up my cultivation a little bit. Moreover, in this deep forest, who knows which beast I may encounter. But the foundation is crucial for future accomplishments. Sigh... it's such a headache.", sighed Zhang Feng.

Suddenly Zhang Feng heard a noise in the nearby bushes. He immediately got alert. A low, menacing growl came from the bushes as a huge beast appeared in front of him. " Blood wind Tiger! Dammit! My luck is really bad! Looks like this will be a tough match." thought Zhang Feng. The Bloodwind Tiger was of Mid-stage of the Qi Refining realm. It was of at least 6th level of Qi Refining in terms of combat strength. The Tiger gave a loud growl as it pounced on Zhang Feng. Zhang Feng awkwardly dodged the attack and created some distance between them. "I think I should use this opportunity to practice and hone my movement skills." thought Zhang Feng with gleaming eyes. He believed that only through real combat could a person truly improve his strength and surpass his limits. Zhang Feng dodged by moving back and forth, sideways and rolling and jumping. After 3 hours Zhang Feng was fairly proficient in dodging the attacks of Bloodwind Tiger. The Tiger got greatly frustrated by Zhang Feng's dodging. It couldn't land an attack since it started fighting. Soon it grew tired of constantly attacking. Zhang Feng noticed this and attacked him with Xiao Family's Wind Tiger Claw. A claw of tiger partially materialised in the air and moved towards the Blood wind tiger at a fast speed. The Tiger being caught off guard got hit and blasted few metres away. The Tiger knew that he couldn't kill Zhang Feng, so it simply left. Zhang Feng too let the Tiger leave as he also knew that he couldn't kill him. Furthermore, Zhang Feng was able to launch an attack only because the Tiger had exhausted his Energy. If Zhang Feng had to face him one on one, then he wasn't sure of defeating the Bloodwind Tiger. "Looks like my combat strength is too low" sighed Zhang Feng. Zhang Feng decided to focus on practising martial arts too. He already knew the Xiao family's body movement technique called Floating Cloud Steps which was of mid-Yellow rank and Wind Tiger claws which too were of the mid-Yellow ranked martial arts technique. Practising Martial arts technique had been classified into 4 levels. Beginning, Mastery, Small Perfection and Great Perfection. Zhang Feng had practised Wind Tiger claws to the point of Beginning. " The forest is full of strong monsters and beasts. I cannot take the risk of moving forward without enough strength. Looks like I need to find a place to settle temporarily," thought Zhang Feng. Zhang Feng came to a nearby Waterfall and decided to build a hut there. He used Wind Tiger claws to cut down trees. Initially, his skin got cuts and even left deep wounds but he knew that this was another way of steeling the heart and tempering the body. The firmer his heart will be, the easier will it be to accomplish higher realms in future.

Zhang Feng built a small two-room house from wood. He used vines and sticky shrubs to glue the trunks together. One room was for cultivation and sleeping while the other was for cooking. After building the house Zhang Feng built a big bed for cultivation. He then went out to gather some moss and soft shrubs and leaves. Luckily Zhang Feng found some jelly-like material which was the secretion of a tree. There were dozens of similar trees in the surroundings. "Great! These can be used to make mattress and pillows.", said Zhang Feng happily. After building the bed and house, Zhang Feng felt hungry. He had been working non-stop for 16 hours. It was late at night. Zhang Feng decided to catch some fish from the nearby river. As Zhang Feng's eyesight was much stronger than ordinary 3rd Qi Refining realm cultivators, he caught some easily. This was due to his heart which had greatly boosted his metabolism since it was repaired by Chaos qi and by practising Chaos God Scripture. Zhang Feng set up a small fire and roasted the fishes. " The moon is quite bright today", muttered Zhang Feng. Suddenly he missed Xiao Chen. He secretly remembered the names of the Zhao family, Ye Family and Fire wind Mercenary group and vowed to destroy every single member of them except for small children and women. His eyes grew moist as he looked at the sky. " I wonder if Uncle Xiao is doing alright now? He must have gone to heaven," mumbled Zhang Feng. After roasting the fishes, Zhang Feng ate them with relish. "Looks like I should some spices tomorrow," thought Zhang Feng.

After eating, Zhang Feng cultivated throughout the night. When he got up from cultivating, it was already morning. His cultivation had reached the peak of the 3rd Qi Refining realm. He should be able to breakthrough anytime now. Zhang Feng got up and started practising Wind Tiger Claw. After yesterday's practice, Zhang Feng was about to reach mastery level in Wind Tiger Claw. Zhang Feng placed huge boulders and thick tree trunks to practise Martial arts. After practising for 3 hours he then started kicking the boulders and trunks. His nails of legs broke and deep cuts were inflicted on his legs. Gritting his teeth, Zhang Feng continued practising. After a 3 hours of kicking at various angles, Zhang Feng performed Yoga exercises to make his body more flexible. Bandaging the wounds, Zhang Feng left the but in search of spices and salt. After careful scouting, Zhang Feng noticed that there were relatively low tiered monsters in this area. Zhang Feng felt relief and considered himself lucky. After all, his strength was quite low compared to the vast forest.

Zhang Feng spotted several plants of spices and also found some salt near some rocks. After plucking those plants and taking salt, Zhang Feng was about to leave as he felt a dangerous feeling on his back. Zhang Feng instinctively rolled aside and saw the monster that had attacked him. It was the same Bloodwind Tiger that had attacked him earlier. "This time I won't let you go!" saying this Zhang Feng ignited his fighting spirit. He fiercely punched as the Tiger pounced on him. Zhang retreated 2 steps after the collision while the Tiger just staggered in this place. "Well, the result is better than I expected." muttered Zhang Feng. Zhang Feng displayed the Floating Cloud Steps to avoid the attacks of the Tiger. The Tiger was attacking fiercer by the second. Many times, Zhang Feng got cuts and wounds but his comprehension of Floating Cloud Steps was improving by the second. Suddenly Zhang Feng's image blurred as it zig-zagged around the Tiger. "Haha! I finally practised Floating Cloud Steps till the Beginning. Now that I can guarantee my retreat, I should land some blows on the Tiger." thought Zhang Feng. Taking a deep breath, Zhang Feng attacked the Tiger with the Wind Tiger Claws. Boom! Bang! Roar! Such sounds were frequently heard as they collided with each other. Zhang Feng grabbed the Tiger and attempted to wrap his arms around the Tiger to choke it. The Wind Tiger Claw couldn't be of much impact against the Tiger as Zhang Feng had practised it only till Beginning. The Tiger tried to shake Zhang Feng off but Zhang Feng held onto the Tiger tightly. Suddenly the Tiger threw itself on the ground with a bang. Seeing this, Zhang Feng hurriedly let go of the Tiger or else he would get injured under the body of Tiger. "It seems like the underestimate its intelligence," said Zhang Feng after taking a deep breath. As Zhang Feng got up the Tiger fiercely attacked Zhang Feng without giving him any time to prepare. Zhang Feng used Wind Tiger claw to defend but got blasted backwards. Suddenly, Zhang Feng felt a breeze hitting his face as he forced himself up. He saw the tiger pounce towards with a loud growl.

However, Zhang Feng felt everything turn slow. It was as if the Tiger had freezed in air. Zhang Feng felt his mind getting clearer as he saw the Tiger in the air. Then he felt a clear stream of qi flowing through his body. "It turned out to be Wind.....No, I got stuck after Beginning in practising Wind Tiger Claw. I forgot the element of Wind. I only imagined a Tiger leaping with a pair of claws." mumbled Zhang Feng. Suddenly Zhang Feng attacked the Tiger with the Claw. A clear pair of claws appeared in the air as they dashed towards the Blood Wind Tiger. The Tiger gave a woeful howl as they pierced through him. The blood splattered on Zhang Feng making him look like a War God. "Haha! I broke through to Mastery in Wind Tiger Claws and I sense that I won't have much problem even reaching Small Perfection. But to be honest, the power of the Claws increased considerably after the breakthrough." said Zhang Feng. " Hmm? What! I broke through to 4th Qi Refining! Brilliant! This trip was worth every penny. My combat strength greatly increased. Now let's head back to the hut along with this corpse." said Zhang Feng happily.

Zhang Feng sang some songs happily while cooking the Tiger. "I should have a week worth of food now with this Tiger." thought Zhang Feng. "Now, it's time to dig in." muttered Zhang Feng after adding spices to the cooked meat. Crisp! Tear! "Hmm, finally some good fucking food! This meat is the best. I must bring more Tigers back next Time I go out." said Zhang Feng while eating in relish. Zhang Feng are to his heart's content. After eating, he got up to refine the energy in the meat. The tiger had nearly 7th stage Qi Refining power so naturally it contained a lot of energy. After running through Chaos God Scripture for half an hour Zhang Feng completed refining the energy.

Zhang Feng remembered the scene when he was fighting the Tiger and then achieved a breakthrough. He clearly felt a stream of energy emerging from the Origin of Chaos at that time. Zhang Feng had a faint guess in his heart that the Origin of Chaos helped him in comprehension of the Technique. "Looks like I need to find more about it's other uses too" muttered Zhang Feng. He then decided to cultivate Pure Thought Sutra as he hadn't since quite a long time. His mental strength was at mid Purple Mansion. After cultivating it for 5 hours Zhang Feng started to refine the energy stored in the Chaos bead. This was Zhang Feng's daily routine : Get up, Practise, Hunt and strengthen combat power, come back, cultivate. Days passed peacefully for Zhang Feng.
