1 Chapter 1 : Am I dead?

"Move fast!! Nurse, Put him on the stretcher.... " Zhang Feng heard many voices as he was semi-conscious. "Shit, it looks like the patient has lost a lot of blood", said the doctor. " Hey, stay with us! Don't lose your consciousness! Nurse Kim, the heartbeat of the patient is dropping! Quickly pressure increase the pressure!

Zhang Feng felt the whole world spinning round. His skin was cold and numb. Zhang Feng felt as if there were two invisible hands tightly grabbing his neck. " Am I dying? Is this what death feels like.... Somehow I feel strangely calm and at peace, " said Zhang Feng. Suddenly his vision blurred and everything turned black.

Zhang Feng felt comfortable. It was as if he was floating in a cloud. His body felt warm. Zhang Feng woke up suddenly and said " Is this afterlife? " He looked around to check his surroundings. What he saw surprised him. Darkness. Endless darkness. There was nothing in that area. His eyes scanned till the edge of the horizon but he still didn't see anything except darkness. But this wasn't the weirdest part. What Zhang Feng felt weird was that there was no noise in that region. "Where in the hell am I? Is this hell.... No...But I heard that hell might be filled with bubbling lava, thorny land but there is nothing which symbolises with hell here. What is this place? I am floating and there is no presence of land mass.... Wait why is my body translucent!! " Cried Zhang Feng. He saw that his body was translucent and the aura around the body was weak , like it could dissipate at any moment. Zhang Feng guessed this is likely his soul.

Zhang Feng looked at the void blankly. He didn't understand what to do. This space was eerily quiet. There was no sound. This freaked him out. Zhang Feng had read that the maximum time a human stayed at the world's quietest place was around 45 minutes. This void was likely such a place. "Is this my fate? Stranded and lost among the endless space.... I didn't even get to go to heaven. Will I stay a lost soul forever? " Such different thoughts flashed through Zhang Feng's mind. In the end his eyed flashed with bitterness as he accepted his fate and closed his eyes. Zhang Feng was born orphan. He worked hard since childhood to secure himself a bright future. He suffered injustice many times in his life due to his weak background. But he kept working hard and improving himself. That day Zhang Feng went into the mall for shopping. However that day several armed robbers along with a suicide bomber enters the mall. When Zhang Feng saw that those armed men were about to shoot a little girl, he tried to push her away from the crossfire. Unfortunately while saving her he got shot in the chest. Still, Zhang Feng did not regret his choice. He couldn't bear to see a child who had a whole life ahead of her getting shot. He consoled himself by thinking that at least he died doing a good deed.

One year. Two years. Three years. Ten Years. Forty years. Fifty years had passed since Zhang Feng was floating aimlessly in the void. Zhang Feng had lost track of time. He only knew that only a long time had passed. There was nothing to do in this empty void. So Zhang Feng decided to do meditation to pass the time and improve his state of mind. He knew that in these circumstances human mind can easily give birth to feelings like hopelessness, despair which will, in turn, result in hatred, rage and insanity. Zhang Feng sighed," I don't know if this journey will ever end. I am quite tired of floating."

Suddenly Zhang Feng noticed a golden light ball coming towards him. "What's this?" thought Zhang Feng. Puzzled, he reached out his hand towards the ball. The size of the ball was extremely small. It was the size of a marble. The ball floated towards his chest and slowly sank in it. Zhang Feng got stunned by this phenomenon. Just as he was about to touch his chest there was a splitting pain in his head. He cried out "What in the world is this? Aren't I already dead? Ahhhhh...Stop this please.....someone stop this pain! " After what seemed like an eternity, the headache stopped. Zhang Feng sighed in relief. "Finally it's over. Thank God." Suddenly there appeared some characters in his mind along with some images of a person sitting cross-legged with his hands doing various mudras. "This seems to an ancient technique of .....cultivating Mindpower!! But how did I get this? And how did it appear here? " cried Zhang Feng. Further reading the technique he saw. some words were written at the end. "What is written here?" What he read made his eyes tremble. " I, the great Sage Ye Hao fell while crossing the tribulation of Reincarnation realm. I chose the way of cultivation and left my home at an early age. Now when I am dying I feel ashamed to face my relatives who have long turned to less. My mother, father, sister, brother...I left all of them to pursue cultivation and achieve a higher realm in martial arts. I have been an unfilial child and an ignorant sibling. Today I'm at the edge of death and I regret not choosing a successor. So I am putting a part of my inheritance in this thought. I hope whoever gets this will make good use of it. What I learnt at the end was life can be death and death can be life. It only matters how you live through it. Sigh, I have already turned to dust by the time you find this thought. Whoever you are, I wish you good luck in life. Mother, Father I'm coming...Hao'er is coming to see you....."

With this, the words disappeared along with the thought and merged into his soul. Suddenly, the aura around Zhang Feng increased and his body seemed much clearer than before and his mind felt clear. He silently thanked Sage Ye Hao and decided to practice this technique.

The meditation that he did for the last 50 years provided an excellent foundation for practising the technique. Zhang Feng calmed his mind and started practising the technique. He soon lost track of time when he was practising. One year. Ten years. Thirty years. Hundred years. After 200 years Zhang Feng opened his eyes and saw that his body of soul was much clearer than before. Moreover, due to long term meditation and practising the technique his whole body exuded an indifferent temperament. His eyes were calm and steady. It was as if nothing could faze them. His demeanour was such that it could stand out in a crowd but it was a pity that no one could see him in this void. He didn't know why he was practising or for what he was practising but from the thought he had got from Sage Ye Hao, he knew that there exists another world that was not earth and the thought being from that world aroused his interest. He had a faint guess that there might be infinite such worlds.

All of a sudden he saw a huge white door ahead of him. Curious, he moved towards the door and tried to touch it. He immediately felt a strong suction force and his whole being got sucked into it.
