Xu Yang

Arza felt like a new world was opened. He viewed the world in a different light. The world was vast and contained many things beyond one's expectation. never knew such a thing existed.

"So if a person absorbs this energy, they basically crippled?" Arza pondered.

"Everything comes with a price. Although they lose it, the power they gain is much stronger than what they lose.

"Of course, angelic powers are random. Some can be powerful and some can be weak. Regardless of those, it all depends on the user." The seventh prince's explanation erased the doubts in Arza's mind.

"So what Angelic Crystal Chin Sha stole?" Xu An asked.

"Whip Crystal. It allows one to transform their bodies into a whip."

"Seems the ability isn't that strong and not worth the trouble of becoming a cripple, why did the Infantry put a huge amount of attention into it?" Xu An pondered.

Changing one's body into a whip in exchange for cultivating felt like a waste. If the power was to control gravity or vibration, it would be worth it!

"You underestimate the power of angelic crystal users. The more they comprehend their powers, the stronger they are. 

According to our research, their bodies have damage reduction against a cultivator's attack."

"How much reduction?" Xu An asked.

"Fifty percent. It's quite a lot and it is how angelic crystal users out there could fight against cultivators.

"As you know, cultivators are super-beings which could destroy mountains and split the sky easily while angelic users have powers yet still have the limitation of a human.

"However, they could kill a cultivator many times stronger than them. The Angelic Crystal Chin Sha stole is like that."

After hearing his explanation, Xu An understood that it seemed there were many powers in this world aside from cultivators.

"So basically, this Whip Crystal you mentioned has a lot of potentials?" Xu An speculated. If a man turned into a whip and whipped at people, the seventh prince wouldn't make it so big but the fact that he did.

Probably the user could be many times stronger than what most people think.

"Yes, with the passing of time. The user can be so terrifyingly powerful that the Infantry might suffer a huge blow from it."

Most people that absorb energy from Angelic Crystals were lawless people. None want to use their power with certain limitations, they want to go wild and use it as they like!

Of course, there were some exceptions.

"Too bad Chin Sha is a henchman of a Grand Noble. The Infantry couldn't do much of anything related to a person with such a high social position unless the latter committed a crime." The seventh prince sighed as he lamented his bad luck.

"Can't you accuse that the Grand Noble protects a criminal?" Xu An suggested.

The seventh prince shook his head, "We don't have the evidence and we don't have the right to.

"As you know, the World's Empire favors Grand Nobles. They are like children to them and the Infantry is like their guardians.

"Whose parents want to use their guardians against their children? Unless the children made a mistake. By then the guardians have the right to punish them by disciplining them."

Xu An nodded as he understood. The Infantry had no chance to do anything to Chin Sha. He was as safe as if in a nuclear shelter.

Ignoring the weird analogy for a second, Xu An said after a short pause, "I guess Chin Sha had planned this from the start.

"I have to say though, he's a genius. Seeking protection from a Grand Noble is something I didn't expect."

Grand Nobles were arrogant and lofty creatures. They were usually in their comfortable castle and palace, never coming out.

Due to their high status, they view others as ants or tools. They didn't care about what others say or feel, they did anything as long as they were happy and the rules could not stop them as they had plot holes.

It was easy for Grand Nobles to take advantage of this.

Acting as if the world revolved around them and they were the main character. Xu An was irritated but he couldn't do much.

"Indeed, there must be someone in the government that is in contact with Chin Sha and reveals information without being suspected. Unfortunately, the Infantry couldn't find who this person was.

"The Infantry is big and there are many people in it. It's no different from finding a needle in the haystack," The seventh prince said.

"I couldn't do much but if you need help, do tell. I have connections on my own." Xu An offered the seventh prince his help.

The original Xu An was good at conversation and had a lot of connections to cover up his normal capabilities in all fields.

Either the old Xu An or the current Xu An was proud of this. With many connections, life was easier!

The seventh prince knew the connections Xu An had and didn't expect much. Compared to the connections in the Infantry, Xu An's connection was not as big but the seventh prince smiled as he voiced his appreciation. "Thank you."

Xu An was aware of that. Nevertheless, as his friend, it was not wrong to offer his help as an indirect way of saying that he cared for him.

"You should enjoy the party. I'm here for the sweets," Xu An said as he didn't want the seventh prince to waste his time on him.

The seventh prince hesitated before saying, "very well then, I'll not disturb your moment."

He walked away with a smile. As Xu An watched his back, he noticed gazes from everyone

He tried to ignore it but couldn't. It was as though thousands of eyes probed him and he reflexively tensed. It was quite uncomfortable.

Being in the center of attention is the worst! Xu An said to himself as he found a way to escape from this as he walked to the balcony.

By then could he feel the tension lowered considerably.

Although his mental toughness could be considered as tough as steel. Being stared at by many people was something he couldn't get used to.

It was unknown why. Probably a light phobia of being scared of the crowd.

He rested his arms on the guarding rails of the balcony and stared at the moon which exuded a calm light that erased his worries almost instantly.

Reincarnated into another world and the scene of his past lives flashed like images. His close friends in his previous life, family, and colleagues.

Although they weren't that close. Recalling those moments together with them, his heart was filled with regret. He wished he could enjoy moments much longer with them.

He exuded a breath of sigh so as to spit out negative emotions. Sorrow, guilt, and regret 

Xu An knew thinking of these would do no different to his current situation. There were many things he had to do in this world.

One of which was to live without regrets. Xu An knew living this way had many cons rather than pros but so what? He didn't want to live like his previous life.

There were many things he should have done. The things he shouldn't. The decisions he should choose.

He wanted to avoid making the same mistake as the last time. This was his second chance.

He smiled at the moon as his eyes lit up in determination, I'll live a good life in this world!

In the main hall, as the guests increased and the atmosphere got crowded and noisy. It suddenly became quiet that Xu An, who got caught in his mind, frowned in confusion.

A moment ago, it was noisy like in the market but now so quiet that he could hear his breath.

He entered the main hall to see what's up and casually asked the nearest person, "what's going on?"

The person didn't answer as his gaze was focused on one spot. Shifting his line of sight to what this person was looking at.

A large staircase led to the second floor and there was a handsome young man with a calm face walking down and next to him was a young woman whose beauty exceeded anyone in the party.

Black hair cascaded down to her waist, refined facial features, her skin was white as white pearl, her rosy red lip, and her gentle, fragile eyes made men want to protect her. It was seducing to boot.

Compared to this beauty, the others were nothing. She was like the brightest star among all, quickly becoming the center.

The pair coming down the stairs while holding one's hands.

She looks like an immortal fairy, Xu An said to himself as he was immersed with her beauty. He was also shocked when he saw her.

Perhaps this was the first time he saw something like this. The girls in his previous world were indeed beautiful but for him, nothing could top this one.

That lucky bastard, Xu An said to himself with a smile as he shifted his line of sight to his little brother on the stage, Xu Yang.

Although his facial features were a bit inferior to Xu An. He had something else Xu An didn't. Which was that leader air Xu Yang exuded.

Everyone felt an instinctive reaction of respect and fear. This included Xu An and he wasn't jealous at all. He was proud, it was as if seeing a child grow.

Xu Yang surveyed the main hall without gaining any suspicion. He was searching for someone and when his gaze landed on that person, he nodded and retracted his gaze to the crowd.

Xu An, who looked at Xu Yang with a proud look, noticed that Xu Yang was aware of his presence, and receiving that gaze, Xu An smiled and nodded.
