36 Brewing

After waiting for a few minutes, Xu An opened his eyes as he sensed a presence coming at him, it was Morgiana.

Before this happened, however, he realized the maids indirectly despised him talking.

They responded with a few words then stopped. Even an idiot could tell they did not want to talk to him.

So rather than making things awkward and making him look like a fool, Xu An zipped his mouth, closed his eyes as he entered his mind and read the book.

He got a lot of profound knowledge and was quite satisfied. This was perhaps something he enjoyed after reincarnating into this world.

So many things to do and the world felt fresh, not bland in the slightest. Although his past world had as much knowledge, the school simply made students want grades, not knowledge.

They memorized and pouted what they got Into a paper and after the exam, it was certain they did not remember a thing.

That's one of the reasons Xu An hated school, the system to be precise.

"Why are you taking so long?" Xu An asked, his tone a bit displeased.

"I just left the bathroom," Morgiana casually replied.

What's with girls spending a lot of time in the bathroom... Xu An said in a self-deprecating manner as his mouth slightly twitched.

Xu An cast his gaze to the side and saw a light blue wheeled suitcase with its handle rose.

Seems the world more advanced than I imagined, Xu An silently pondered as he got up off his seat.

Morgiana released her grip from the handle as she shifted her line of sight to the two maids, "You two can leave. Thanks for the hard work."

"Yes, young miss." They nodded as they slightly bowed to pay respects and left.

Morgiana watched their backs and dazed for a brief moment.

"Should we go?" Xu An asked and Morgiana snapped out of her daze.

She nodded and Xu An led the way as they walked.

Passing through the gate, Xu An suddenly asked, "Why does Master Reiner have that title in front of his name?"

"He refined high-grade pills which are supposed to be gone from this world. His pills had a miraculous effect and many powers were demanded his product," Morgiana replied.

"So he's a master in Alchemy. No wonder but wouldn't he get in trouble? I doubt some organizations let their greed in check," Xu An frowned.

Some organizations probably had the motive to capture him and make him work day and night producing pills, monopolizing the product.

"It's okay. He's someone one should not provoke," Morgiana smiled. Talking about Master Reiner, she couldn't help but feel pride.

"Why is that?" Xu An pondered.

"For starters, Alchemists are protected by the Alchemy Guild and if you mess with one of them, you mess with the entire guild.

"Their unity is terrifying but compared to the World's Empire, it is nothing. Regardless, you must not provoke Alchemists," Morgiana said solemnly.

Pills were a must for cultivators and the only ones who could produce them were only Alchemists.

If you provoke the guild, who would provide you with pills? Although the World's Empire would do something about it. It often results in the loss of that civilization.

Either the price to buy pills was twice as high despite the fact that it was a lower grade or the pills were limited.

In this world, Alchemists were respected and if you became one, earning money would be easy as pills were never short on demand. Even selling the low-grade pills could earn you more money than the salary of most jobs in the capital.

Although it seems interesting and had many benefits, Xu An had to back down this time, he didn't have the time to become an Alchemist.

A lot of stuff to be remembered like the medical effects of each herb, refining techniques, and many other factors.

The books in his mind did record things about alchemy but only the introduction, formula of a few pills and that were it.

"Why didn't you become an Alchemist?" Xu An asked.

With Master Reiner, a master in alchemy, Morgiana had a teacher to guide her. Paving that path would be many times easier than most people!

Getting guidance from the master was a privilege she got yet she didn't take advantage of that.

After a short pause, she replied, "I can't. As you know, Soul Root determines your growth in cultivation, same as Alchemist.

"We have what's called Inner Flame. We use it to refine pills and Inner Flames have grades."

"And your grades are low?" Xu An speculated.

"It's the opposite," she shook her head as she continued, "My Inner Flame is a rather high grade. Master Reiner even said that he had never seen it before and was helpless.

"With my Inner Flame. It is hard for me to control it. In my training, the flame is either too hot or too low." She then sighed in resignation.

Xu An was shocked upon learning Morgiana had a talent in alchemy but looked like her talent was so high that she could not put much use to it.

Xu An didn't know if this was a blessing or a curse but if he could make Morgiana refined pills, that would be nice.

He didn't have to buy them, only ingredients, and let Morgiana do her job.

"Why didn't you go to the Alchemy Guild for help? Surely they are not going to reject a gifted girl like you," Xu An expressed his doubts.

"I tried but Master Reiner did not agree. He said that my life would be in danger and I could only accept it."

Xu An thought it made sense. With her talent, many factions in the Alchemy Guild started to hate and gloat about her and tried to get rid of her so that their position was not in danger. Of course, this was only speculation.

Xu An himself did not know if there were factions in the Alchemy Guild.

Xu An grasped her situation and then requested, "Can you show me your flame?"

Morgiana nodded as she opened her right palm and a soft flame appeared. It gently dances above her hand.

Xu An was immersed with it for a short second.

"Can you perform some tricks?" Xu An blurted out.

"This is not a magic show!" Morgiana was discontented. She hated the fact she could not use her Inner Flame to its limit and now he's asking her to perform magic tricks? She's no magician!

"Oh come on. Just one, please," Xu An pleaded with puppy eyes.

Morgiana's mouth twitched, what's with him becoming so odd all of the sudden? Wait, he's already this way since she met him.

It's just that it has been a long time since they've met.

Tch, I forget he is a bit eccentric, Morgiana silently clicked her tongue.

"Fine," she said as she grunted. She then changed the flame to a phoenix and it extended its wings as it soared to the sky majestically before diving back to Morgiana and flying around Xu An.

Xu An's eyes sparkled as he was deeply amazed. He shot Morgiana with amazement as he shouted with a smile, "This is very cool, Morgiana!"

Xu An leaped around like a happy rabbit.

Seeing this, Morgiana felt a bit better.

"Are you really sixteen?" Morgiana asked with doubt but then she chuckled and laughed.

Xu An stopped his acting and turned his head to her and upon her laugh, his expression softened.

As the phoenix flew around majestically, it did not escape from others' attention. The kids looked at it with great curiosity and enjoyed it as the phoenix flapped its wings.

"So cool!" One of the kids yelled with a bright smile.

Morgiana's giggle gradually faded out as she looked at the phoenix and then turned her head to the kid.

She controlled the flaming bird as it flew around the kid. The kid was shocked but soon replaced with joy on his face.

Xu An smiled upon the peaceful and joyful atmosphere.

Two guys were eating in a restaurant. One dressed in a way that made him stand out.

How could it not? The restaurant's interior was grand and the floor was quite clean and shining as it let out sparkles. The floor was so smooth that one could see their reflection on it.

Above told itself what kind of restaurant it was, and added that with most of the customers who were dressed in expensive clothes, it was a place only rich people could enjoy.

Yet here he was, in a commoner's everyday suit.

The others could not help but look at him in contempt and disgust. Despite that, this person ate leisurely as he did not care.

The opposite of him was a man wearing a luxurious white robe. He ate elegantly and one couldn't look away.

It was a contrast to the man opposite of him.

On the surface, they eat without talking but in reality, they were talking through qi telepathy.

"So, how does it go?" The man in the commoner's suit asked. He was none other than Chin Sha.

"It fails. The target this time is not like you said. He dodged bullets and even killed someone at the Third Stage of Sea Condensed Dantian. Isn't he someone who just started cultivating?

"Then how could he do all of those? You provide the wrong information, Chin Sha. It's your fault!"

Chin Sha grunted in acknowledgment, he was surprisingly calm after getting that scold.

"Don't worry, Sir. Losing one or two mercenaries isn't that big of a problem. In fact, we gained something."

After a short pause, the Grand Noble spoke as he put a spoonful of soup into his mouth, "I understand your plan. You want to test the waters and what we get is that Granger is stronger than we thought."

Chin Sha affirmed as he said, "Precisely, though I don't know how strong he is. But we can estimate it.

"According to the report, he was badly injured as he fought that mercenary. This means that he's either in the Third Stage of Sea Condensed Dantian or one realm beneath.

"Either way, I have full confidence in defeating him in the God of Tower. Sir, this may be blunt but can you please not do anything to him?

"I want to let him enjoy the peace and let him have hope for a few days before crushing him with despair." Chin Sha smiled mischievously, showing his row of teeth.

Hesitated, the Grand Noble responded as he nodded as he calmly spoke, "Very well but you must take a picture of him when he showed his despair expression.

"I want to show it to that girl, Morgiana. They seem to be close."

The Grand Noble then gave a green jade to Chin Sha.

This green jade was called Magnifier, its function was the same as modern cameras but the quality maxed at 360P.

"Alright, I'll give you the good ones." Chin Sha smiled as he grabbed the jade and put it into his pocket.

After that, they chatted between mouthfuls and after finishing their meal. The Grand Noble rubbed his hand on a handkerchief as he put it down.

"Let's get down to business, shall we?"The Grand Noble's voice was solemn but Chin Sha's expression did not change.

Without waiting for his response, the Grand Noble continued, "Our target is the three biggest clans in the capital! Xu clan, Chu clan, and our main target is, the Zhang clan!"

.

.

"Achoo!" After watching Xu An depart, Xu An's childhood friend abruptly sneezed.
