10 Sorry

A week had passed since the station incident. Bella is still trying to adjust to her new life. She feels empty without the love of her life. She keeps on reminiscing the past, looking at their pictures, reading the old letters, crying at her fate. She still can't believe that George is no more there to hug her, comfort her, spoil her and love her.

On the other hand, Noah's life has become a mess. Not only he has taken to drinking, but also he has forgotten his friends and deserted his family altogether. He rarely comes home. He can't believe the fact that his wife cheated on him. He wants to know why she did that but no one has an answer to his questions. He suddenly remembered about her journal. He searched for it in the whole house but in vain. He made a mental note to ask for it the next time he goes to the station.

A call brought both of them back to the reality. It was Officer Lowan. He asked them both to report to the station.

Bella hailed a cab and rushed to the station. She exited the cab and paid the driver. She walked towards the station when she saw Noah getting out of his car. Noah noticed her too. They both walk towards each other. They stand facing each other looking at each other. After a few seconds of silence,

"I'm sorry"

"Sorry"

The words came out of their mouths at the same time.

"I shouldn't"

"I.."

Both spoke at the same time again. They giggled at their actions.

"You first" said Noah.

"I am really sorry Mr. Williams. I shouldn't have slapped you. It was unethical. I am so sorry for my actions. I hope you can forgive me."

"It's okay Ms. It was my fault. You don't need to apologise. I am sorry. And you don't need to be so formal with me. Please call me Noah."

"Then you should call me Bella too." she smiled at him.

He smiled back. "What a innocent lady. How can her husband cheat her. She clearly loves him more than anything in this world." he thought.

"He is such a nice person. How foolish of me to think of him as a bad guy." she thought.

"Shall we go inside? Officer Lowan must be waiting." Noah asked snapping her out of her thoughts.

"Yes yes."

They both went inside where Officer Lowan was already waiting for them.

"Good afternoon Mr. Noah, Ms. Bella." he smiled and shook hands with them.

"Please have a seat."

"Officer, did you find a journal in my wife's stuff?" Noah asked anxiously.

"I'll check. If there's anything I'll deliver it to you." replied the officer.

"So what did you want to talk about Officer?" asked Bella.

"Oh yeah that, please wait a minute."

He called someone using his official phone "Please send Mr. Weber in"

A tall man wearing a dark grey suit with a red tie entered the room with a few files in his hand. His light brown curly hair were combed neatly. His blue eyes were bright. He wore large black framed spectacles which complemented his face perfectly.

"Mr. Williams, Mrs. Miller" he greeted them with a polite smile.

"I am David Weber from The Price Law firm"

Noah and Bella looked at him, confused.

"I am Mr. Miller's personal lawyer. I was asked to deliver these papers to you both." he handed both of them a document.

Both of them became shocked.
