59 Asymptotic Meeting

"Excuse me? For what reason did you interrupt this meeting?" Fera asked the dirt-covered person.

The person before them was none other than Muck. He was covered in dirt from head to toe. His clothes were a mess and even had faint traces of blood on them.

"I come before you to confirm their story." Muck declared to everyone in the room.

"That may be so. State your name and origin." Fera continued her inquiry.

"My name is Muck. I am one of the village sentry of Sunnyside Village." Muck said slowly and stopped. He looked at the ground and shed a silent tear.

"I mean, the only remaining village sentry." He corrected.

The meeting continued with Muck as a witness. He confirmed the E's party's accounts and told the council more specific details. Muck also reported the incident after Ligma's disappearance.

"A monster that could copy anyone. It was horrible, it was strong, and it could take its targets memory." He recounted.

Muck continued reiterating the events. Unlike the adventurers who aren't official citizens of the Kingdom of Doof, Muck—who was a born villager—is more trusted.

"Take it easy. You can rest now." A priest interrupted Muck. The priest realized that Muck was having a hard time retelling the story. The bitterness in his voice was too evident.

After he finished his piece, the church officials all whispered to one another. They had to determine the truth from the written and vocal accounts but there wasn't much to work with.

After a few minutes of awkward silence but was filled with murmurs and whispers, someone finally stood from their seat and announced.

"The council has decided." Fera's voice reverberated in the room.

"The Church of Gourmet has officially recognized the rising threat of the vampires. The council has determined that their resurgence has something to do with the sudden bold attacks of the werewolves."

A church official stood behind her and whispered in her ear after she spoke. She nodded, seemingly agreeing to the official's words.

"Rise, adventurers. You have done a great service to the world with the information you have given. And for that, we grant you an ample amount of reward." She continued.

[World Message: The churches have been informed of the re-emergence of vampires.]

[World Message: The Church of Gourmet takes the lead in uncovering the secrets of the Blood Moon.]

The messages were a bit odd, however, that was only correct. Unlike petty churches in Japanese novels, the churches in Immersion Online worked together to uplift humanity.

The church officials that were in the meeting were not just from the Church of Gourmet, but also different churches. They are relay points of their respective churches and worked together with their designated churches.

"It checks out. If I may, I have some somewhat relevant information to say." A certain church official spoke up while he remained seated.

"Please." Fera bowed to the official and took a seat.

Everyone in the meeting room remained silent and perked their ears to listen. They all couldn't believe the information they just received but there was no denying it, thus they could only remain silent.

"I am a delegate from the Church of Desire, and I receive a short piece of information from them." He explained.

"I've been told that an adventurer named Elaitoh has been taken into the Church of Desire's dungeon within Las City for detainment. Supposedly, he informed the church the same information that we just received right now." He continued.

"Unfortunately for him, he did not have any evidence to back up his claims. I suppose he's an acquaintance of your party?" The official asked E's party of adventurers.

However, not one person in the party knew anyone named Elaitoh. They all looked at one another but they only shook their heads like confused chickens.

"Excuse me, sir. Does this, Elaitoh, have any specific details about him? Like where that person is from and which city he is based on and the like." E asked the official.

"He's an adventurer based in Las City. However, he's hasn't been active within the city for the past few weeks, only to return and inform the church of his information." The official listed.

The official looked up and rubbed his chin. He was trying to remember a specific detail.

"Oh yeah, he's part of a guild. I forgot the name of the guild, it had an ominous name so I took it to the back of my mind." The official continued.

E's party of adventurers looked at each other. They really have no idea who that person was. The only person with outside connection with people in-game was Annera and even she doesn't recall anyone.

[Hey, A. When are you getting back to the city?] A sudden whisper interrupted Annera.

[Psssh. Wait a bit, I'm kind of busy right now. Stay put a bit, K] Annera replied.

"I just received a message from the church." During the time Annera was busy with the whispers, the official sent a message back to the church and received a reply.

"It seems they are named 'Diabolical'. A small guild of adventurers." The official finally revealed the guild name.

It still didn't ring a bell for most of the party. However, one entity reacted to the word 'Diabolical'.

"Cluck?" The bird-chicken hybrid on top of Fera's head cocked her head.

"Cluck Cluck!"

During the entire meeting, Lavanuk was on Fera's head as the author forgot to move her back to Bob's head. She squawked and flew towards Bob and crash-landed on his head.

"Ow." Bob didn't really feel pain, but still acted as he felt it.

"What is it?" Bob, with 1 intelligence, totally forgot about Jianni, Enrik, and Svenja.

Tock Tock Tock~

Lavanuk knocked his head 3 times. Signifying the three people he forgot about.

"Stop it!" Bob still doesn't realize it.

"Cluck Cluck!" Lavanuk screeched once more.

Only then did Bob realize that he had to think.

Tock Tock Tock~

"Oh? It's them! Diabolical!" Bob finally remembered the trio.

Bob's slow reaction to the word caused questions to rise within the heads of the party. They haven't heard anything about this and they've been together with Bob for the past 3 days.

"I met a party of adventurers in Sunnyside Village Inn. They're part of a guild named 'Diabolical' too!" Bob continued.

He then explained to everyone about how they tried to invite him to the party and then the part where he informed them of the Ligma incident in an emotional stupor.

"So it's you!" E said in a threatening manner.

E suddenly got up from his seat and held both of Bob's arms and shook him violently.

"You fool! We almost lost the rewards for unlocking the story! You buffoon!" E was hectic.

"I ga n eg[splaying]" Bob tried to explain but the incessant shaking made his words were unintelligible.

"Oh. Speak." E stopped shaking Bob.

"I'm sorry!" Bob lowered his head in apology.

[Congratulations. The pagelet has been completed extravagantly.]

"Well. See you later, Bob. Send us a message when you're done." Annera said her farewell to Bob.

The party had somewhere to go, Bob would have been included if he didn't have to talk to Fera. However, his choices were limited since the corruption of his blood was a serious matter.

"Yea. Take care!" Bob hoped they did. The last time, they died outside of his sight.

"Bob, if you please, head to the conference room once again. I have informed the necessary people. And we also have to talk about your inauguration soon." Fera explained.

Fera then led Bob and Lavanuk to another room. The rest of the party couldn't stay for much longer as they knew that this was a matter for Bob and it was private.

-

"So, where do we meet these high-leveled players?" Enma asked as he put both of his hands behind his head.

"We are to meet in Corn Pub. It's at the upper left portion of the city." Annera explained.

'Hmm. Which one is upper left here again?' Almost everyone thought of that, except for Bob as he's in the Church of Gourmet. (A.N Note: I really need to draw a map of the world or something.)

"See! It's just right over there!" Annera exclaimed as she pointed towards a building that looked like a long fruit loop.

"Oh yeah, we were in Donut City. Everything is donuty here." Minion rolled his eyes as he complained.

Slam!

Enma slammed the pub's door as they entered. It was basic etiquette for adventurers in pubs.

"A! Over here!" An adventurer called the party, specifically Annera.

The adventurer was wearing black clothing and looked pretty damn cool. He was together with a group, probably with his party.

"Oh hey! Pffft. Seeing you IGN up close is still funny." Annera laughed at his joke of a name.

"Hey, Chikinsupu is a great name for an adventurer, right guys?" Chikinsupu asked for backup.

"Nah."

"Nope."

"Probably, not."

Not one person in his party backed him up.
