2 Chapter 01

"Shione Andrew!" I suddenly woke up from my sleep. His loud voice echoed in my ears.

I hurriedly got up from bed and fixed it. Took a quick shower and dried my hair in front of the mirror. I really can't help but to stare at my appearance.

I DON'T LOOK LIKE A GROWN UP AT ALL.

I sighed. What the hell. 19 years old, 5'3 and has a small built! I look more like a child than a teen. This sucks, I'll blame my mom's genes for this.

I went straight down the dining hall and saw my father busy with the table.

"What's our breakfast pa?" I asked.

"Of course, your favourite." He replied and served the food. I can't help but drool because the smell really made me hungry.

"Dried fish and fried rice! cool, thanks pa!" I happily thanked him and sat then started eating.

"This will gonna be your first day as a student in the Academy Shione, huh." Papa asked.

"Yeah pa and I'm quite really nervous. What if I don't have any power at all? I can't become a knight if that's how it goes."I said nervously.

Obviously, in order to become a knight, you should atleast be able to wield your power but if you don't have one, you're like an inkless pen. No matter how hard you write, you can't write anything.

"Don't be down son, I know you're just a late bloomer. Many people manifests their powers when they're older because their body when they were a child can't handle the greatness of their powers so the body protects itself by preventing the powers to manifests. Many great espers you know we're late bloomers? Usually they have double powers maybe triple like John Apostol who became the Grand Knight because he wielded the strong elements. So don't think negatively. You late bloomers have much more potential than those of early because most of your powers are unique." Papa explained.

I guess he was right but I'm really afraid if I belong to the 1% who couldn't wield any power at all.

"Papa" I called and he looked at me.

"Am I really your son?" I asked.

"Of course you are! but your mom's genes were stronger than mine so. you're small. haha" He teased.

"Papa you're rude." I mumbled.

"I don't care. finish up eating and brush your teeth, he'll come soon and you know he hates slowpokes." Papa said.

I hurriedly ate all the remaining food and put the plate in the sink then brushed my teeth.

"Here's your coat son." Papa handed the grey coat.

"Let me help you." He said and tied the bow on me.

the typical uniform for unofficial students like us who doesn't have power yet are white sleeves paired with a grey coat, bow and black shorts.

"You look like a grade schooler" He teased again while preventing himself from laughing so hard.

I looked at myself in the mirror, I really do look like one. Especially my hair. What the hell.

"Papa! I said don't gel my hair!" I was furious.

I grabbed the wet towel then poured a hot water on it and wiped the gel out of my hair.

*beep*beep*

We heared beeping noise out from the house.

"It must be him, now go don't make him wait." Papa said. I hurriedly kissed his cheeks and ran outside.

"Bye pa! see you later!" I shouted as I ran towards the vehicle.

I immidiately went inside and sat at the back.

This guy here driving is sir Miko I've known him ever since I was a child. We're not that close but yeah. Now he's driving me in the Academy. Emerald Academy to be exact.

The peak among academies all over the Philippines. The Emerald Academy is always the team competing in International Competitions and They're always on the top. As I can remember, they've won three times as champion, and two as First runner.

Well I got inside the Academy because of sir Miko, he recommended me and I acquired a slot. I think this guy is very suspicious. I know almost nothing about him even though I have known him for years.

Anyway the Emerald Academy has its ranking system depending on badge you get this corresponds the previlages you can get. Let's start at the lowest class and it's badge.

Class C which has the ruby badge, These class is where those who can't control their powers properly, basically, you'll remain there as long as you can't control your power and yeah you can't rank up because even you can successfully control your power. academic excellence is also a must so it's a no go for you if you can't pass the tests for ranking up. This class has limited previlages like usual food and uniform only.

Class B which has the Sapphire badge. These is where those who can control their powers to some extent and have a better academic performance in this class also starts the heirarchy in which is required to rank up in the upper classes. The previlages you can get here is higher quality of food, uniform and dormitory.

Class A, Diamond badge, let's say those who really worked hard type of students manages to rank up into this class. Controlling their power, honing their skills to defend their position in the heirarchy and their intelligence. The students here gets high quality food, uniform, better dormitories and has free vehicle.

Lastly, Class S with they highest type of badge, the Emerald. To me only those who have talents can enter this class. As long as I can remember, there are only 20 students that belong into the Class S all over the academy. Yeah all over. The previlages they get are almost anything. they can spend their time on what they want because they are geniuses among geniuses. They are regarded as Royals in the Academy, the one who competes in international competitions and they are also the one who helps to run the whole Academy. Most of the students in S class comes form Wealthy and talented families.

"We're here." Sir Miko said. I felt the car slowly stopped. I immidiately got out from the car.

"Thank you Sir Miko." I thanked him and he only answered with a nod then I walked away.

I'm at the entrance now. I really still get amazed on how enchanting this Academy is. The whole Academy is a castle! a freaking castle!

I'm slowly walking along the path until I reached the entrance. Here we have to fall in line since we need to enter an identification first.

The identification needed is a badge scan. Since I don't have a badge, We, the normal class have a piece of silver metal as our identification. This piece of metal stores all of our information as a student. This also can be used as a tracking device so you really can't skip class. Even if you put this far away, magic is embedded in it so it'll stick to you within 5 meters. Basically, it's being magnet into you.

"You may pass" The guard said as he scanned me.

The guards here specializes in sight, speed, hearing and strength. They aren't just normal guards of course, they're graduates as Knights and they specialise in this kind of thing. They only need to be here Morning and afternoon since once we all get inside the academy, you cannot go out.

"Shit" I mumbled as I looked at the clock, It's already time! I'm sure they have started the Power Manifestation!

I tied my shoes to make sure I don't trip and ran very fast. As I was running, I suddenly stopped as I was blinded by a purple light coming from the classroom ahead of me.

I repeatedly opened and closed my eyes because I was blinded by it until my sight came back properly. I tiptoed towards the classroom and bent my body, leaning towards near the door.

"Wow a lightning power. isn't that rare?" Some student said, full of amusement.

"Yes! being able to use lightning is guaranteed to be recruited as a knight! he also has a high chance getting promoted into the S class!" The other student replied.

Wow, I can't believe that a lightning esper would emerge.

"What! a double manifestation!? He's also able to wield fire!? that's awesome!" My ears were deafen because of that voice. I suddenly remembered that I'm late! So I went all full strength at using both of my legs.

If he's able to wield two powers at once, then that guy's a pretty genius then. I can't help but be nervous.

I shook my head to get rid of that thought.

"Bahala na si batman."
