Don't forget about the power stones. #This is my second work, my first work is "Tales of the Golden Abyss". Check it out if possible.

Unfortunate Day

Ah! these brats. Here I am thinking about not getting into trouble. My luck is too good for me to live a peaceful life.

Cursing my shitty luck, I glanced at the people surrounding me at the training ground while scanning each one of them. Nearly ten people including both genders rounded me; taking an offensive stance. It's very obvious they wanted a fight but not wanting to fight with them I asked them to leave.

"Did you sleep with someone to gain the strength?"

"Who knows? maybe she would have."

"What if she didn't?"

"Sleep with her" a girl commented in a lewd way.

Hearing her comments my eyes popped out in anger. My patience was broken into a rage and my staff moved in my hands; it swung against her who was a few meters ahead of me, sending her flying in the air. Detaching the thought of myself like a little brat I started to attack them despite their seniority.

Seeing my strength everyone started to attack more actively, I know they hate me but not to this extent. Not letting them near me I fought a one vs team battle which was set to be my doom without a second glance. But they were naive to think that I am a little girl who would cry when they bully me.

I hold my staff on one of its ends as if I am holding a sword and a sword danced in the center of them. With each wave focusing on each person I tossed everyone away from me. Without having the strength to stand against me they started to attack together but not impressive as I am, I just used a small amount of force to burst out the wind around me causing everyone to fly away crashing on trees and walls. Some even broke the flooring and plant pots.

Knowing the fact, they were my seniors who sincerely hoped to be an esper. Fate ignored them and choose me to be the esper to be an obstacle for them. I couldn't help but sigh. Who am I to punish them? After all, they were my seniors who lived a truthful life; not like me. Not wanting to think more about it I walked toward my room.

The news about Lily fighting with seniors and defeating them reached the higher ranks; they summoned her along with the other people who were involved in a fight with her. With no regret on her face, she stood as if nothing happened.

Annoyed by her manners they asked for Lily to speak. With a cold and arrogant tone, she answered every question "don't disturb or else prepared to get offended" she announced to the public because she was very anxious about the incident that happened in the earlier part of that day.

The old man who had wrinkles on his face stood up; his eyes were light grey with dark centers, he had countable hairs on his top but a beard and mustache covering his mouth, he had a large nose; he wore brown robes falling to the ground. His calm and elderly manner made anyone be at ease, on the contrary, his aura made anyone worship him without a second thought but Lily ignored the fact he was strong and intentionally stood conceited.

Knowing her intentions, he smiled under his mustache but the cheeks and the horizontal wrinkles on either end of his eyes portrayed them to her. She calmed herself but without a word the old man understood everything "anyone who wants to battle with her can do it in public, but no team battles are allowed" he announced.

What the hell? Shouldn't he announce I am not a perfect candidate to be an esper? It is said espers shouldn't attack others but this man, made it look like it was nothing. My plan came back to stab me right in my heart.

I initially planned to get disqualified being an esper by attacking those peers but it turns out I dug my own grave. What are these people thinking? Should I want to be an esper at all costs? While I was pondering over what to do a powerful voice mediated to pull me back to actuality.

"I want to see how strong you are for the stone of wind esper to choose you!" She was a senior who had more merits and achievements than anyone. She was a goddess in their dream to many of the outsiders even many insiders secretly adored her for her beauty but she turned everyone down just to become an esper. Seeing me, a newbie becoming an esper she couldn't help but prove to others; that the stone of wind esper was wrong.

I on the other hand had nothing but childish behavior of not taking anything seriously; was not dared enough to face her. I gulped a large amount of saliva in one go just by realizing the fact I am doomed. If she was to fight me I have no chance of even surviving her attacks. Everyone knows how cruel she was when she fight with an enemy, judging by her looks I am without a doubt an enemy.

The red eyes, black hair, and white clothes made her look like a devil in sheep's clothing. I wanted to lose to her to get away from this dammed stone of wind esper but if I was to fight her, I shall better stay away from her rather than sparring with her.

Her red eyes looked at me like a snake watching its prey. Without a second glance I know she was stronger than me but who had thought I would have to battle with this demon. With no choice left, I walked to the stage.

Looking at me in a scornful way she smirked at me as if I am in the decline. Lack of knowledge about my true strength was her only disadvantage and I should utilize it fully. Without a further ado, she unsheathed her sword from her scabbard.
