4 Chapter 4

Knock Knock

"What?" I stared directly at the same brat who ruined my trip to Yucatán, nervously fiddling with his fingers but strangely having the guts to appear at my doorstep. Half an hour had not gone by since my arrival in the "444 dorm-room" and the brat had the audacity to appear in front of me: alone.

"Can I come in?" he asked and before I could shut the door on him, I think I may have crushed his foot.

He winced, but no sound escaped his mouth.

"Fine." Not because I wanted to, but because I felt obligated after crushing his foot with the door.

He went in looking like some dejected dog and I went to bring out the nearest wooden chair before seating myself in front of him. Yes, I did not bother finding one for him and instead he stood while I sat on my wooden throne of pressure and intimidation.

Lovely.

"Get on with it brat. I don't have all night." It was a lie, but I hated wasting time over some bouts of shyness and timidness.

"I-it's about the s-summoning," he softly began. "I never told you the reason," he lightly shrugged. "Well, because you demanded to see my manager or you'll make me infertile." The last tidbit of his sentence came out almost faint.

I leaned back on the chair, as if lost in my own thoughts, before condescendingly raising a brow at him. "I don't really care," to which he visibly winced.

"T-Then I'll no longer take any more of y-your time," he replied turning to leave.

"Wait." Like an obedient dog, he stopped. "I hate people like you, but I'll still hear you out after we've laid some ground rules considering we're going to have a Master-servant relationship of some kind."

With me being the Master, obviously.

With a curl of my finger, the extra chair came floating before dropping in front of me.

"Sit," I commanded, to which he obliged. Good doggy. "Now tell me what your original intentions were and also a few clarifications about this world." After all, it was going to be a long torturous five years.

The brat took a seat and nodded. "My original intention was to summon a contract beast...to prove to my half-siblings. I know its stupid a stupid reason...but I—" He paused as if all the bottled up reasons racked on his way here were just some kiddish skirmishes that had nothing of importance towards my presence and maybe himself.

His head hung low while his hands were clasped together trying to piece together some logical thought as I watched silently on the side. It seemed to me his summoning may have been an act of passion and now that it was burnt out, the intended meaning became disarry.

This proved to be a sign of teenage angst of some sort and I wondered if I had been that unreasonable during the same exact year as him. Nah, I had more restraint.

"You were trying to prove to them what? That you're better than them? Or to make them realize that you belong on equal terms so they will never harm you again?" Upon hearing those words, he instinctively pulled his sleeve, concealing what had already been seen by me.

I sighed, pulling my suitcase at the side of the bed and unzipping it. "Here." I tossed the small first-aid kit at him. "Go take a shower and clean yourself up first before you bandage those wounds."

"W-wait! You don't need to..." He relented until I threatened to skin him alive if he didn't follow my orders.

While he went his way into the shower attached to this room, a faint light pulsed from my body, before a large white serpent slithered out hidden underneath my clothes.

"Stop hiding near my underboob Ophi," I snapped at the silverish white snake. God, I had another nuisance to take care of.

He curled around my warm slender neck being the warmest part of my exposed body in the cool room. Also, I wouldn't let it rest anywhere near my privates.

"Do you plan on helping the human boy?" Ophi asked.

I pulled the snake or how Ophi regarded himself as a serpent off of me and tossed him on the bed. "Why does a reptile care who I save or not." I simply stated, telepathically unclipping the long strap that held most of my designer clothes together and taking them out.

Ophi did what most reptilian snake genus did, and hissed sticking its black tongue out.

"He's my ticket out of this backward hole," I answered regardlessly. "Humans like me engage in activities that provide themselves benefits in the long-term. I thought you'd figure that out by now Ophi."

'Considering you've leeched off of me for years now.'

"Oh, you don't need to remind me of your egotistic and selfish nature, dearie. I was wondering why this specific brat has you more engage than what you are used to dealing." Ophi curled himself up nicely on the drab blanket as few floating ball of light started to gather around him.

I paused, before replying, "He reminds me of a pitiful puppy." while making a mental note to question the brat later regarding these strange ball of firefly lights.

If snakes could snort, Ophi would have snorted a handful of times.

As I finished unpacking my luggage, the brat had come out of the bath. He re-wore his school clothes which is understandable, but I frowned at the sight of his dripping wet hair. "Are you an idiot?" A dry towel swiped from the bathroom landing on his head with a simple motion of my finger. "Dry yourself properly unless you want to get sick. Didn't your mo—"

The corners of his lips awkwardly twitched, as I narrowly escape what might have divulged from my lips. I let out a small huff, "Have you bandaged your wounds?" changing the topic.

I knew so much about this young brat, despite his best efforts to conceal everything. Just a quick glance, a simple observation, and half-hearted conversation could reveal so much about a person. It was to the point where he wasn't trying to hide anything at all, but who knows or what other people cared.

'You've been born into an unforgiving place and entered an uneven playing field. This world and Earth fails to be much different.' The simple thought flashed in my mind, realizing Ophi had sneaked his way back closer to my underboob before the brat exited the bathroom.

"A-Ah! Y-yes, I've managed to somehow bandage my wounds." He handed me back the first-aid kit and we continued to converse a bit more about this backwater place called Ulura.
