2 Dearest Daughter

Her husband is pacing across the living room unsure of what to do. He felt great anxiety like he was drowning in suffocating water, just thinking about wife getting injured. He hesitated so many times to leave and look for his wife. He had a voice in the back of his head tell him that she will come home soon. He sat on the couch to calm himself, he then covered his face with both of his hands. His hands slid from his forehead to his mouth and gave a sigh.

A few moments later there was a knock at the door, He instantly got up and smiled as he approached the front door. "Honey, I'm so sorry", he said as he opened the door. His smile turned into a frown, he was confronted by two police officers. He felt his stomach turn. He was informed by the officers that his wife was in an accident, and didn't survive.

Her husband was in shock, he put his hand over his mouth. His eyes began to water, but he held his emotions in. He invited the officers in, the two officers sat on the couch, her husband excused himself to go get his daughter. He walked in her room and woke her up, her eyes opened to her distraught looking dad. She followed her dad into the living room, she paused for a moment when she turned the corner seeing the two officers.

Her dad sat on the couch, sitting across from the officers. Eris sat down next to her dad. Officer Collins, sighs and looks at the incomplete family. He tells the two that she was hit by a semi truck in an intersection. The detectives investigated the scene and it was revealed that she was passed out from intoxication behind the wheel. Her blood alcohol was over the limit, her car rolled over the limit line and that's how she was hit.

Eris' father constantly buried his face in his palms while hearing about his wife's demise, he couldn't believe it.

Officer Thompson, scrunched his face at Eris when she did not give a response to the news. Instead, she gives a nonchalant attitude, sitting slumped on the couch with her arms crossed. She then gives a smile and devious laugh, the men look at her in confusion. She then chanted "yay! The witch is dead," she praised. She got up and walked to her bedroom laughing while she walked away.

Her dad holds in his anger, and the officers look at each other in confusion. They aren't sure what to think, other than this girl is crazy. Her dad thanks the officers for coming by and escorts them out. They are also surprised by her dad being calm about what his daughter said. The officers leave the home.

Eris is laying on her bed watching loony toons laughing at the antics of the characters. Then she is unfazed by her dad entering her room unannounced and continues watching. He stands in the door with a confident stature and feeling like he is going to erupt with anger. "What the hell is wrong with you!" he yelled. She paused the television and turned to him with a smug look on her face. She said," No Matthew, what is wrong with you, how could you kill your own wife?".

She laughs uncontrollably, her dad looks at her in disgust and disbelief thinking how could she say that. He quickly walked over to his daughter's bed and grabbed his daughters shoulders with a tight grip."Listen here dammit...". What are you going to hit me or get rid of me to live your fantasy with Amanda," she grins.

Her dad lets her go and she falls back on her bed. He squints his eyes at her while backing away to the door. "You evil bitch!," he says. She plays the T.V and continues watching. Her dad closes his daughter's room door behind him and slowly walks to his. He closes his door behind him and he can be heard sobbing in his bedroom.

It has been 2 years since the death of her mother. Eris' room door opens, she is wearing a blue graduation gown. She comes out of her room smiling, she walks in the living room, it's covered with balloons, a half-ate graduation cake, and decorations everywhere. "Aunt Belle couldn't haven't put this party together any better," she says to her dad who is paying her no attention and is passed out on the couch with an empty bottle of whiskey in hand.

She walks over to the couch and stands in front of him. She bends over smiling and waving her hands in front of his face. Sill no response from him, she lightly slaps him on the face to get a reaction. He blinks multiple times and looks at her with a dazed look.

She walks over to the kitchen to get a piece of cake, as she cuts the cake she grins. "Daddy, aren't you proud of your little girl? I did it!" she says. She looks over at him waiting for a response.

"Of course honey," he says with a fake smile. She walks around the counter with her cake in hand and sits in the stool. She slides her yearbook closer to her and flips through the pages. " I know, I'm just shocked that they let me pass, I know they just wanted to get rid of me," she says with an emotionless face. Her dad perks up and says, "What? no, they didn't you earned it, honey". Eris says with a smirk "that's right", as she closes the yearbook.

She hears honking from outside, and takes off her gown, throwing it on the couch. She reveals a plain tight black dress. "Bye dad," she says and gracefully walks out the door. Her dad begins sobbing intensely when the door closes. She puts her ear against the door, laughing at her father's sorrow, down the driveway. She gets into a red Hummer with her boyfriend Derek and they kiss before they drive off.
