Logan Adler

Noah went outside and observed the sky after putting on a large shirt.

The sky was black tranquility married to a poetry of stars. It was the softness that called the body and brain to rest and let the heart go to its steady rhythm. Night came as a reward of sorts, a restfulness above to calm the soul.

''In the serenade of the black, the stars are a choir; they are lights that sing in infinite patterns. Sometimes eyes need music, and the darker the night the sweeter the song.''

Noah murmured absentmindedly before shaking his head and decided to head back to his room.

He didn't want to encounter that annoying blond, hopefully, he was not on the same floor as him.

Unfortunately, it was exactly as he feared, just before he entered his room Arthur happened to have arrived on this floor and saw him just before he closed his door.

''Eh! This must be fate.'' The blond youth smiled before walking to his room, Room 8.

It was indeed fate.

Back in his room Noah removed the shirt before tossing it aside and sat down on the couch again he was about to unmute the TV and watch Player's channel when his smartphone rang.

Noah begrudgingly stood and went to pick up the futurist smartphone, it was his father's id as expected.

He heaved a sigh, inwardly thinking that his father was such a worrywart.

''Hello, old man. How's your evening? I'm doing fine thank you for calling.'' Noah vomited everything right away as if trying to tell his father I'm hanging up now you've heard my voice.

''I say brat, show some respect to your old man worrying about you.''

''Tch! What do you want, father.'' Noah was annoyed but happy deep inside.

His father didn't answer but requested a video call, Noah accepted and the face of a middle-aged man appeared in front of him in a medium-sized floating window.

Black, short hair is pulled back to reveal a round, wild face. Golden eyes, set graciously within their sockets, watching Noah fondly.

Several moles are spread delicately on his right cheek and leave a captivating memory of his luck in battles.

This is the face of Logan Adler, Noah's father, his sole remaining parent. The player hailed as the strongest spear, The Spear of Destruction.

Logan is versatile, independent, and self-reliant. But this is all just a facade, a mechanism to deal with his dreadful past.

He was born and grew up in a middle-class family in an important town, he lived free of worries until he was about 14 years old, but at that point, life changed drastically.

He lost his brother in a terrible disaster and two years later lost his parents. With a couple of friends, he had to survive in a cruel world. But with his strength and cunning, he managed to go beyond expectations and start a new life. He became a powerful Player sweeping everything, and he became one of the strongest in his city, and then in the empire. He lived his life like he wanted until one day he met that woman, that gray-haired girl in a lab coat, she was beautiful like a goddess and as soon as he laid his eyes on her, Logan fell in love and proposed right on the spot, of course she refused but he continued until she accepted, it was the beginning of new wonderful life, the fruit of their love was a son who took after her mother's beauty and hair.

Unfortunately, tragedy struck once again when he thought nothing would go wrong after meeting his goddess, this time he lost his wife in a car crash.

Looking at his son, Logan couldn't stop reminiscing of the past, he could see his wife's shadow in his son.

Nothing must happen to him.

If it was up to him he would have sheltered Noah wishing he had nothing to do with that world but a sheltered butterfly will never show its full beauty nor become complete this way, you have to let it out to experience the world whether it is good or bad because only this way it will become complete.

As his father he knew Noah's goal was to seek answers, he was also doing the same thing, he wanted to ask him not to do it but stubborn as he is, Logan was helpless, he could only passively observe.

''What is it, father? Why are staring at me like I have murdered someone?" Noah's question brought Logan back to reality, and he chuckled.

''Nothing, I'm just astonished at how big you have become. You have become a big boy.''

Noah rolled his eyes at his father's joke. The latter sighed thinking his son was no fun.

''How was your first day? I hope you didn't end in a fight?''

''Tch! No, I controlled myself.'' Noah clicked his tongue. He was annoyed just by recalling what happened.

Logan sighed, inwardly happy that nothing had happened, he knew his son was the best and no fight on the first day meant there was some progress.

''Good, did you make any friends?" He asked already aware of the answer, he just hoped his son at least tried.

''No.'' Noah's answer was short.

''You brat listen to your father and make some friends, I understand your stance but sometimes reliable friends can have your back, and you can share your difficult moments with them. So take my advice seriously, at least make one friend during your stay here.''

Logan advised his son and from his tone, he was not joking, Noah could feel it, and it was why he answered positively.

''I understand Father.''

''Good, have you met that girl, I'm sure she'll be in the same class as you.'' Logan suddenly changed the subject, switching to something Noah would have appreciated he didn't do.

''Yeah!" Noah bit his lips which didn't go unnoticed by his father.

''Sigh! Sometimes you have to hear the other's party version before making a judgment, keep in mind.''

Noah didn't say anything and his father heaved another sigh before talking about school-related stuff.

Noah's mood brightened and he happily answered.
